Hangul Porting and Display Performance Comparison of an Embedded System (임베디드 시스템을 위한 한글 포팅 및 출력 성능 비교)

  • Three methods frequently used for Hangul display in computer systems are Standard Johab Code in which each of Hangul consonants and vowels is given a 5-bit code and each syllable created by combining them forms a 2-byte code, Standard Wansung Code in which each of all the syllables generally used for Hangul presentation forms a 2-byte code, and Unicode in which each syllable in most of the world's language systems is given a unique code so that it allows computers to consistently represent and manipulate them in a unified manner. An embedded system in general has a lower processing power and a limited amount of storage space, compared to a personal compute(PC) system. According to its usage, however, the former may have a processing power equal to that of the latter. Hence, when Hangul display needs to be adopted, an embedded system must choose a display method suitable for its own resource environment. This paper introduces a TFT LCD initialization method and pixel display functions of an LN2440SBC embedded board on which an LP35, a 3.5" TFT LCD kit, is attached. Using the initialization and pixel display functions, in addition, we compare three aforementioned Hangul display methods, in terms of their processing speeds and amounts of memory space required. According to experiments, Standard Johab Code requires less amount of memory space but more processing time than Standard Wansung Code, and Unicode requires the largest amount of memory space but the least processing time.

  • Small-scale models have been frequently used for experimental evaluation of seismic performance because of limited testing facilities and economic reasons. However, there are not enough studies on similitude law for analogizing prototype structures accurately with small-scale models, although conventional similitude law based on geometry is not well consistent in the inelastic seismic behavior. When fabricating prototype and small-scale model of reinforced concrete structures by using the same material. added mass is demanded from a volumetric change and scale factor could be limited due to size of aggregate. Therefore, it is desirable that different material is used for small-scale models. Thus, a modified similitude law could be derived depending on geometric scale factor and equivalent modulus ratio. In this study, compressive strength tests are conducted to analyze equivalent modulus ratio of micro-concrete to normal-concrete. Equivalent modulus ratios are divided into multi phases, which are based on ultimate strain level. Therefore, an algorithm adaptable to the pseudodynamic test. considering equivalent multi-phase similitude law based on seismic damage levels, is developed. In addition, prior to the experiment. it is verified numerically if the algorithm is applicable to the pseudodynamic test.

Studies on Inhibiting Floral Induction of Angelica gigas NAKAI in the Hilly Altitude Area (중.산간지대에서 참당귀의 화성억제에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of floral inhibition of Angelica gigas NAKAI in the hilly altitude located in the Northern Gyeongbuk Province from Feb. 1992 to 1994. The results obtained were as follows: As the cultivated areas are high, rate of bolting was significantly decreased, having high yield, good growth, and medicinal quality. It is considered that the optimal cultivating area was at least above 600m altitude. In the hilly altitude, the more shorten nursery period was, the more decreased rate of bolting was, it results in decreased yield, having no significant differences in contents such as extract and decursin. In bolting response from temperature treatment of the seedlings, treatment of temperature was significantly decreased floral induction, but rate of establishment was decreased by decayed root. Bolting rate at different organic resources has more reduced in single fertilization than that of in organic application, but among organic resources, compost of rice straw has the lowest bolting rate. As a result, yield and medicinal qualities at various organic resources were increased in application of organic resources which was no considerable tendency among organic resources.

유리화 비정형 탄소(vitreous carbon)를 이용하여 제작한 전계방출 소자의 균일성 증진방법

  • 전계방출을 이용한 평판 표시장치는 CRT가 가진 장점을 모두 갖는 동시에 얇고 가벼우며 낮은 전력소모로 완벽한 색을 구현할 수 있는 차세대 표시장치로서 이에 대한 여국가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 여기에 사용되는 음극물질로서 실리콘이나 몰리 등을 팁모양으로 제작하여 사용해 왔다. 하지만 잔류가스에 의한 역스퍼터링이나 화학적 반응에 의해서 전계방출 성능이 점차 저하되는 등의 해결해야할 많은 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 탄소계 재료로서 다이아몬드, 다이아몬드상 카본 등을 이용하려는 노력이 진행되어 왔다. 이중 유리화 비정형 탄소는 다량의 결함을 가지고 있는 유리질의 고상 탄소 재로로서, 전기전도도가 우수하면서 outgassing이 적고 기계적 강도가 뛰어나며 고온에서도 화학적으로 안정하여 전계방출 소자의 음극재료로서 알맞은 것으로 생각된다. 유리화 비정형 탄소가루를 전기영동법으로 기판에 코팅하여 전계방출 소자를 제작하였다. 전기영동 용액으로 이소프로필알코올에 질산마그네슘과 소량의 증류수, 유리화 비정형 탄소분말을 섞어주었고 기판으로는 몰리(Mo)가 증착된 유리를 사용하였다. 균일한 증착을 위해서 증착후 역전압을 걸어 주는 방법과 증착 후 플라즈마 처리를 하는 등의 여러 가지 방법을 사용했다. 전계방출 전류는 1$\times$10-7Torr이사에서 측정하였다. 1회 제작된 용액으로 반복해서 증착한 횟수에 따라 표면의 거치기, 입자의 분포, 전계방출 측정 결과 등의 차이가 관찰되었다. 발광이미지는 전압에 따라 변화하였고, 균일한 발광을 관찰하기 위해서 오랜 시간동안 aging 과정을 거쳐야 했다. 그리고 구 모양의 양극을 사용해서 위치를 변화시키며 시동 전기장을 관찰하여 위치에 따른 전계방출의 차이를 조사하여 발광의 균일성을 알 수 있었다.on microscopy로 분석하였으며 구조 분석은 X-선 회절분석, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy 그리고Auger electron spectroscope로 하였다. 증착된 산화바나듐 박막의 전기화학적 특성을 분석하기 위하여 리튬 메탈을 anode로 하고 EC:DMC=1:1, 1M LiPF6 액체 전해질을 사용한 Half-Cell를 구성하여 200회 이상의 정전류 충 방전 시험을 행하였다. Half-Cell test 결과 박막의 결정성과 표면상태에 따라 매우 다른 전지 특성을 나타내었다.도상승율을 갖는 경우가 다른 베이킹 시나리오 모델에 비해 효과적이라 생각되며 초대 필요 공급열량은 200kW 정도로 산출되었다. 실질적인 수치를 얻기 위해 보다 고차원 모델로의 해석이 필요하리라 생각된다. 끝으로 장기적인 관점에서 KSTAR 장치의 베이킹 계획도 살펴본다.습파라미터와 더불어, 본 연구에서 새롭게 제시된 주기분할층의 파라미터들이 모형의 학습성과를 높이기 위해 함께 고려된다. 한편, 이러한 학습과정에서 추가적으로 고려해야 할 파라미터 갯수가 증가함에 따라서, 본 모델의 학습성과가 local minimum에 빠지는 문제점이 발생될 수 있다. 즉, 웨이블릿분석과 인공신경망모형을 모두 전역적으로 최적화시켜야 하는 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서, 최근 local minimum의 가능성을 최소화하여 전역적인 학습성과를 높여 주는 인공지능기법으로서 유전자알고리즘기법을 본 연구이 통합모델에 반영하였다. 이에 대한 실증사례 분석결과는 일일 환율예측문제를 적용하였을 경우, 기존의 방법론보다 더 나운 예측성과를 타나내었다.pective" to workflow architectural discussions. Effects of By-Product Fertilizing of the Unfermented Soybean (Cheongguk-jang) on Chemical Properties of Soil and Growth of Lettuce (미 발효된 청국장 콩의 시비가 토양의 이화학적 성질 변화와 상추의 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • This investigation into unfermented soybeans, which were left from the soybeans used to make cheongguk-jang, was conducted to find out its availability of the application to the environmental-friendly fertilizers. The test of cultivating lettuce, using 1/5000a Wagner pot, was carried out inside the affiliated farm glasshouse, belonged to University of Chung-Nam National. The results showed that in the category of leaf length, the control and cheongguk-jang soybeans treatment plot had similar outcomes and in the category of the extract of the cheongguk-jang soybeans, it increased by about 26~33%. And in the categories of width and number of leaves it showed that the extract treatment increased by about 9~20%, in compared to the control. Finally, in the category of fresh weight, the results showed that cheongguk-jang soybean and the extract of the cheongguk-jang soybean effectively increased by about 9~27%, and that pig manure compost treatment plot with the extract of the cheongguk-jang soybean also significantly increased by about 26%, compared to the control. Accordingly, the unfermented soybean left in the production of cheongguk-jang and the extract of the cheongguk-jang soybean are considerably appeared to be valuable environmental-friendly fertilizers.

  • A Mobile Radio Wave Measurement System (MRWMS)is a vehicle-mounted system designed to be operating in a single mission. The mission characteristic for mobile measurement requires mobility. For this, we must consider the arrangement and embedded method of MRWMS's antennas. In this paper, we described the measurement method design of direction detecting accuracy for MRWMS and designed the direction finding antenna mast capable of rotating itself by using a slip ring without turntable for Direction Finding (DF) accuracy test. As we removed the dependency of a limited local area by designing a measurement method of direction detecting accuracy, Equipment Under Test (EUT) zero-Adjustment and mounted process shortened. So, we the reduced production costs. We expect an improved cable loss value by shortening the RF cable length in accordance with our design. In addition, due to the same phenomenon, the entire system is lighter and the mobility is improved.

  • Because of the supply-demand problem of aggregate, recently, the construction sites using 100% crushed sand are increasing and the use of low quality aggregate such as farmland sand is increasing too. When the low quality aggregate is used, the various quality defect of concrete such as the strength reduction, the increase of shrinkage and bleeding can be occurred. Therefore, in this study, the performance improvement PC admixture was developed to minimize the quality defect of plain concrete of basement parking area, when the low quality aggregate was used at the plain concrete of basement parking area. The slump loss to elapsed time test, the compressive strength test, the bleeding test and the drying shrinkage test were carried out.

Effects of Aggregate Grading on the Performance of High-Flowing Concrete with General Strength (일반 강도용 고유동 콘크리트에서의 골재 입도 영향)

  • The high-flowing concrete requires additionally or excessively more expensive admixture than conventional concrete. So, the concrete has not to be widely used in practical field due to the increase of production price, need of additional facilities, and excessive development of concrete strength in associate with addition of too much cementitious material even though it has more significant advantages than conventional concrete. Thus, this study aims at developing high-flowing concrete with general strength unlike high strength which has been carried out in conventional study. To observe the role of aggregate in the concrete quantitatively and to increase the performance of high-flowing concrete effectively, parametric studies were carried out such as W/C, s/a, fineness modulus of aggregate, contribution degree of particle sizes, and the effect of 13mm aggregate and fine stone powder as a partial replacement of aggregates. And the effect of these factors on performance of the concrete was evaluated by measuring slump-flow and gap of penetration height in U-typed instrument. As a result, it was found that flowability of high-flowing concrete depends upon grading of fine aggregate more significantly than that of coarse aggregate and is enhanced greatly as fineness modulus of fine aggregate decreases and the value of s/a increases. In addition, the application of 13mm aggregate and fine stone powder are expected as a partial replacement of aggregate in order to increase the performance of high-flowing concrete more effectively.

Estimation Method of Creep Coefficient in Concrete Structures (콘크리트 구조물에서 크리프 계수 추정 방법)

  • To predict the time-dependent behavior of concrete structures, the models which describe the time-dependent characteristics of concrete, i.e. creep and shrinkage are required. However, there must be significant differences between the displacements that are obtained using the given creep and shrinkage models and the measured displacements, because of the uncertainties of creep and shrinkage model itself and those of environmental condition. There are some efforts to reduce these error or uncertainties by using the model which are obtained from creep test for the concrete in construction site. Nevertheless, the predicted values from this model may be still different from the actual values due to the same reason. This study aimed to propose a method of estimating the creep coefficient from the measured displacements of concrete structure, where creep model uncertainty factor was considered as an error factor of creep model. Numerical validation for double composite steel box and concrete beam showed desirable feasibility of the presented method. Consideration of the time-dependent characteristics of creep as one of the error factors make it possible to predict long-term behaviors of concrete structures more realistically, especially long-span PSC girder bridges and concrete cable-stayed bridges of which major problem is the geometry control under construction and maintenance.

Case Study on Engineering Camp Program involving Engineering Design Activity and Intra-/Inter-Team Works for High School Students: Plant factory as main theme (공학설계활동과 팀 내, 팀 간 협력 기반 고등학생 공학 캠프 프로그램 운영 사례: 식물공장을 주제로)

  • Informal engineering education program for high school students was developed to cultivate engineering literacy using the human resources and facilities of university. Plant factory, a smart farming technology, was selected as a main theme, and the novel engineering camp program involving engineering design activities and intra-linter-team works was planned. The camp program was applied to 38 high school students in an active learning classroom. Five teams were constructed according to elemental technologies such as biotechnology, information-communication technology, energy engineering, mechanical engineering and architectural engineering, and the students were participated in intra- and inter-team activities to achieve the final goal of 'the construction of a plant factory in school'. The team works were conducted according to the eight steps of engineering design process (identifying the problem and need, identifying criteria and constraints, brainstorming possible solutions, selecting the best possible solution, constructing a prototype, testing and evaluating the solution, communicating the solution, and refining design). Participants' satisfaction survey showed that the satisfaction on the contents of engineering design was 4.48 on 5-point Likert scale. The participants' satisfaction on creative activity and systematic methodology was 4.43 on 5-point Likert scale. 97% of participants responded positively to team works, and 92% of participants were satisfied with career mentoring activity supplied by undergraduate/graduate students. These results indicates that the engineering camp program involving engineering design activity and intra-/inter-team works can contribute to cultivate engineering literacy such as creativity, problem solving ability, collaboration, communication skills for high school students, and to increase their interests in engineering fields.
