Robust Scene Change Detection Algorithm for Flashlight (플래시라이트에 강건한 장면전환 검출 알고리즘)

  • Flashlights in video has many problem to detect the scene change because of high difference values from successive frames. In this paper propose the reliable scene change detection algorithms by extracting the flashlights. This paper proposes a robust scene change detection technique that uses the weighted chi-square test and the automated threshold-decision algorithms. The weighted chi-square test can subdivide the difference values of individual color channels by calculating the color intensities according to NTSC standard, and it can detect the scene change by joining the weighted color intensities to the predefined chi-square test which emphasize the comparative color difference values. The automated threshold-decision algorithm uses the difference values of frame-to-frame that was obtained by the weighted chi-square test. At first, The Average of total difference values is calculated and then, another average value is calculated using the previous average value from the difference values, finally the most appropriate mid-average value is searched and considered the threshold value. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms are effective and outperform the previous approaches.

  • By using LED which is a light source which has been in the spotlight recently, the ring light for medical purposes was developed for shadowless shooting of local site in the affected area. The developed ring light was designed to be able to control the various quantity of light by using PWM (pulse width modulation) method, and by controlling each LED (light emitting diode) independently the regulation of color temperature and color rendering are possible. Also, the persistent light for continuous shooting of affected area and flash mode action for snap shooting are possible. In this study the response speed of momentary flash function was checked using interface circuit configured for momentary shadowless shooting of affected area.

  • Intensive pulsed light (IPL) technique enables energy to be transferred to a target substance in a short time per millisecond at room temperature under an ambient atmosphere. Due to the growing interest in flashlights with excellent functionality among various technologies, light-sintering research on metal particles using IPL has been carried out representatively. Recently, examples of the application of IPL to various material synthesis have been reported. In the present article, various strategies using IPL including the manufacture of flexible electrodes and the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks were discussed. In particular, the process of improving oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity of electrodes, and also the metal-organic framework synthesis from metal surface were explained in detail. We envision that the review article can be of great help to researchers who investigate electrode manufacturing and material synthesis using IPL.

  • 본 논문에서는 영어 교육에 대한 사회적인 인식은 중요해지면서 다양한 방식의 영어공부와 학습모델들을 분석하고 오랫동안 가억이 가능한 학습시스템을 검토하였다. 그러나 영어의 기초가 되는 영어 단어의 공부법이 논리적인 근거 없이 강사의 인지도와 명성에 현혹되어 강사가 추천해 주는 공부 방법에 따라 잘못된 학습하는 경우가 대부분이다. 또한 사람마다 자기에게 맞는 학습법은 분명 존재할 것이다. 하지만 그 방법 외에 효과적인 다른 방법 또한 찾아 볼 수 있다. 헤르만 에빙하우스는 사람의 망각 연구한 결과 망각의 주기를 수치로 나타내었고, 라이트너는 플래시 카드를 박스에 넣어 복습을 반복하는 아날로그 장치를 만들어 복습의 효과를 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 헤르만 에빙하우스의 망각 곡선 이론을 통해 효율적인 영어 단어 학습방법을 논리적으로 증명하고, 웹사이트를 사용한 라이트너 박스와 망각 곡선의 이론을 적용하여 망각의 주기에 따른 복습의 효과를 적용하여 결과적으로 사용자에게 접근성이 좋은 학습형 플랫폼을 제공하여 시간 대비 학습률이 좋은 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자에게 보다 효율적이고 직관적인 비디오 브라우징 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 비디오 데이터의 종류와 특성에 제한받지 않고 강건하게 적용될 수 있는 장면전환 검출 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 제한된 알고리즘은 명암 값의 급 변화나 객체의 빠른 움직임, 영상의 왜곡 등에 의한 장면전환 검출의 오류를 제거할 수 있으며, 특히 연속된 프레임사이의 강건한 차이 값 추출을 위한 개선된 식을 제안하고, 추출된 차이 값들로부터 변화패턴을 학습하고 특징을 추출함으로서 자동 임계치 결정에 활용하였다. 제안된 방법은 급진적인 장면변화가 많고 플래시라이트와 같은 조명의 변화가 많은 다양한 비디오 데이터를 가지고 실험되었으며, 실험결과 기존의 방법에 비교하여 효율적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 결과 값들을 보여주었다.

A Design for File Access in Storage Class Memory-based Computer Systems (스토리지 클래스 메모리에서의 파일 접근 설계)

  • Storage Class Memory(SCM), such as PRAM, FRAM and MRAM, are expected to be comparable to DRAM in terms of access speed and to Flash memory in terms of capacity in a near future. In this paper, assuming that not only the secondary storage (HDD or Flash memory) but also the primary memory (DRAM) will be replaced by SCM in the future computer systems, we propose an efficient file access framework for the SCM based computer systems. The proposed framework do not assign exclusive area in the SCM to the file system and uses various memory-related techniques, such as unified data access path, zero-copy data read using file mapping, copy-on-write, and multiple page pre-faulting for file management. Based on the preliminary experimental results, we could conclude that the proposed framework can be an efficient baseline for designing a new operating system for the SCM based computer systems.

Shot Boundary Detection Using Global Decision Tree (전역적 결정트리를 이용한 샷 경계 검출)

  • This paper proposes a method to detect scene change using global decision tree that extract boundary cut that have width of big change that happen by camera brake from difference value of frames. First, calculate frame difference value through regional X2-histogram and normalization, next, calculate distance between difference value using normalization. Shot boundary detection is performed by compare global threshold distance with distance value for two adjacent frames that calculating global threshold distance based on distance between calculated difference value. Global decision tree proposed this paper can detect easily sudden scene change such as motion from object or camera and flashlight.

Content based Video Segmentation Algorithm using Comparison of Pattern Similarity (장면의 유사도 패턴 비교를 이용한 내용기반 동영상 분할 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose the comparison method of pattern similarity for video segmentation algorithm. The shot boundary type is categorized as 2 types, abrupt change and gradual change. The representative examples of gradual change are dissolve, fade-in, fade-out or wipe transition. The proposed method consider the problem to detect shot boundary as 2-class problem. We concentrated if the shot boundary event happens or not. It is essential to define similarity between frames for shot boundary detection. We proposed 2 similarity measures, within similarity and between similarity. The within similarity is defined by feature comparison between frames belong to same shot. The between similarity is defined by feature comparison between frames belong to different scene. Finally we calculated the statistical patterns comparison between the within similarity and between similarity. Because this measure is robust to flash light or object movement, our proposed algorithm make contribution towards reducing false positive rate. We employed color histogram and mean of sub-block on frame image as frame feature. We performed the experimental evaluation with video dataset including set of TREC-2001 and TREC-2002. The proposed algorithm shows the performance, 91.84% recall and 86.43% precision in experimental circumstance.
