Development and Validation of College Students' Core Competency Assessment: Based on the Case of S University (대학생 핵심역량 진단도구 개발 및 타당화 연구 -S대학 사례를 중심으로-)

  • This study was conducted with the aim of developing inspection tools to select and measure human resource figures and appropriate core competency of the educational goals pursued by S universities. Therefore, key competency factors were defined consistent with concept of talented figures and educational objectives of S universities, inspection tools were developed to measure core competences, and directions are presented for future education policies and curriculum compilation and securing data for rational operation. Based on key competency indicators, questions were developed in a self-reporting form that measures the consent level of the respondents by comprising seven areas of competence, 16 small areas (sub-capacity), and 46 questions. The main Test conducted an analysis of the questionnaires based on the survey results of 2,486 people to ensure the validity of the inspection by conducting a positive factor analysis and reliability analysis. The core competency diagnostic tool of S university is meaningful in this study which verifies the effectiveness of the curriculum and programs conducted at S university and as the first step for the rational operation of the core competency certification system to improve the competency appropriate for students.

An Analysis of Students' Experiences Using the Block Coding Platform KNIME in a Science-AI Convergence Class at a Science Core High School (과학중점학교 학생의 블록코딩 플랫폼 KNIME을 활용한 과학-AI 융합 수업 경험 분석)

  • The 2022 revised science curriculum aims to develop the ability to solve scientific problems arising in daily life and society based on convergent thinking stimulated through participation in research activities using artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, we developed a science-AI convergence education program that combines the science curriculum with artificial intelligence and employed it in convergence classes for high school students. The aim of the science-AI convergence class was for students to qualitatively understand the movement of a damped pendulum and build an AI model to predict the position of the pendulum using the block coding platform KNIME. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted to understand and interpret the learners' experiences. Based on Giorgi's phenomenological research methodology, we described the learners' learning processes and changes, challenges and limitations of the class. The students collected data and built the AI model. They expected to be able to predict the surrounding phenomena based on their experimental results and perceived the convergence class positively. On the other hand, they still perceived an with the unfamiliarity of platform, difficulty in understanding the principle of AI, and limitations of the teaching method that they had to follow, as well as limitations of the course content. Based on this, we discussed the strengths and limitations of the science-AI convergence class and made suggestions for science-AI convergence education. This study is expected to provide implications for developing science-AI convergence curricula and implementing them in the field.

  • Mechanical CAI Program was developed for university science student The program was mainly aimed for individual study. The program was written in BASIC and construct 130s flams. This project was supproted by Ministry of Education research fund. Summary of this study is as follows. 1. The program consisted of main, pretest, tutorial, final, and several other routines for program control. 2. This program written in BASIC. 3. 20 flames for pretest routine, 90 flames for tutorial routine, 20 flames for final test routine were developed. 4. The expected rate of achivement for final test was set 80%. 5. Average mark of final test was 70.2 point through the all course of program. This means that program was constructed of well.

  • 탐색회의는 조직이나 지역사회의 사람들로 하여금 그들의 가장 바람직한 미래를 규정하고 참여에의 책임감을 강조하는 과업수행을 위한 전략을 만들어낼 수 있도록 하는 참여적 계획 방법이다. 참여자들은 가능한 한 다양한 배경을 지닌 사람들이며, 그리하여 그들이 지니고 있는 지역사회에 대한 자신들의 지식과 과정을 변화시킬 수 있는 기술을 가지고 지역사회 개발에 기여할 수 있다. 탐색회의는 이루어져야만 하는 특별한 활동들을 규정하고 필요한 변화를 만들어낼 책임을 지니는 사람들에게 힘을 부여함으로써 표준적인 전략 계획보다 훨씬 더욱 유용한 결과를 산출한다. 계획과정에의 전체 지역사회의 참여는 바람직한 결과를 지역사회 전체가 소유할 개연성을 증가시키는 데, 이는 과업을 수행하는데 필수불가결하고 지역사회가 희망하는 목표를 성취하는데 중심적인 조건이다. 효과적인 지역사회 개발 계획을 위한 탐색회의의 성공적인 수행을 위해서는, 중앙정부가 지방정부의 탐색회의와 관련된 교육프로그램을 제공해야 하는데, 이는 탐색회의가 참여자들을 조직하고 관리하는 따위와 같은 얼마간의 기술을 필요로 하기 때문이다.

컴포넌트기반 분산형 가상대학 구축 사례

  • 본 대학에서는 2001 재정지원사업 중 특성화 프로그램으로 "수원.화성지역 정보화 지원을 위한 원격교육센터 구축" 사업을 추진하고 있다. 총 4단계로 계획된 본 계획의 제1단계로 구축할 시스템의 프로토타이핑을 수행하는 것을 2001년도 사업 목표로 정하고 추진하였다. 본 사업은 인터넷정보과에서 추진하고 있으며 학과가 처한 여러 가지 상황에 대처하기 위한 일종의 생존 전략중 하나이다. 구상하고 있는 시스템은 완전 분산형을 추구하고 있으며 향후 확장성이나 시스템 구축의 효율을 고려하여 분석 및 설계단계에서는 UML을 기반으로하는 RUP방법을 채택하고 있으며 구현부분에서는 시스템 구성 요소를 분해하여 컴포넌트화 하고 있다. 또한 모든 문서화는 ETRI에서 제공하고 있는 방법론인 마르미 III를 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 구축중인 시스템에 대한 배경에서 향후 계획까지 포괄적으로 소개하여 향후 유사한 프로젝트를 구상하고 있는 조직이나 개인에게 도움을 주고자한다.도움을 주고자한다.

  • 2020학년도 1학기는 외부 환경 요인으로 인해 대학교육시스템에 큰 변화가 발생한 시기라고 할 수 있다. 컴퓨터공학 분야의 대표적인 실습기반 교과목인 프로그래밍 수업에서 학습자들에게 온라인 수업이지만 대면 수업의 실재감을 제공하는 방법을 모색할 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 유형의 수업 방식을 온라인 수업에 활용하여 대면 수업 수준의 실재감을 학습자에게 제공하고 학습효과를 높이고자 하였다. 강의 동영상 수업과 상호작용을 포함한 실시간 수업을 혼합하여 수업한 후 설문 조사를 통해 실시간 수업을 선호하는 학습자들이 수업목표인 프로그램 개발 능력을 타 학습자들보다 잘 습득하여 수업 만족도가 높았고, 이를 통해 온라인 수업에서 실시간 수업이 능동적인 학습자들에게는 대면 수업과 동등한 수준의 학습 효과가 있었음을 조사·분석하였다.

Domestic and International Experts' Perception of Policy and Direction on STEAM Education (융합인재교육(STEAM)의 정책과 실행 방향에 대한 국내외 전문가들의 인식)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the value, necessity and legitimacy of STEAM Education and to propose practical approaching methods for STEAM Education to be applicable in Korea through a variety of literature review, case studies and collecting suggestions from domestic and international educational experts. The research questions are as follows: (1) To investigate the perception, understanding and recognitions of domestic and foreign professionals in STEAM education. (2) To analyze policy implications for an improvement in STEAM. The following aspects of STEAM were found to be challenges in our current STEAM policy after analyzing multiple questionnaires with the professionals and case studies including their experiences, understanding, supports and directions of the policy from the governments. The results indicate that (1) there was a lack of precise and conceptual understanding of STEAM in respect to experience. Training sessions for teachers in this field to help transform their perception is necessary. Development of practical programs with an easy access is also required. It is important to get the aims of related educational activities recognized by the professionals and established standards for an evaluation. The experts perceived that a theme-based learning is the most preferred and effective approaching method and the programs that develop creative thinking and learning applicable to practice are required to promote. (2) The results indicate that there was a lack of programs and inducements for supporting outstanding STEAM educators. It is shown that making an appropriate environment for STEAM education takes the first priority before training numbers of teachers unilaterally, thus securing enough budget seems critical. The professionals also emphasize on developing specialized teaching materials that include diverse inter-related subjects such as science technology, engineering, arts and humanities and social science with diverse viewpoints and advanced technology. This work requires a STEAM network for teachers to link up and share their materials, documents and experiences. It is necessary to get corporations, universities, and research centers participated in the network. (3) With respect to direction, it is necessary to propose policy that makes STEAM education ordinary and more practical in the present education system. The professionals have recommended training sessions that help develop creative thinking and amalgamative problem-solving techniques. They require reducing the workload of teachers and changing teachers' perspectives towards STEAM. They further urge a tight cooperation between departments of the government related with STEAM.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop voluntary learning (talent donation) program as a liberal art lecture for students in G university to cultivate consideration towards others and community life. The title of the liberal education course that was developed was decided as "Beauty Talent Donation". The course objectives were to develop consideration for others and sociality required for community life as well as foster awareness of sharing and develop creative leaders equipped with outstanding characters through cosmetology voluntary service associated education. The final development of education contents were completed over 3 stages including preparation, development, and supplemented development and the major components consist of understanding talent donation, beauty theories, and beauty skills. For the assessment of the learners, absolute evaluation was applied so that personal goals can be achieved through the course instead of evaluating learners' learning capabilities with relative evaluation. Accordingly, a pass or fail system was designed. The beneficiary institution of talent donation was selected based on the following conditions. It is located within a short distance from the educational institution, walking distance for the learners, easy to recruit subjects to receive the support, and accurately understands the purpose of the lecture and willing to cooperate.

Effects of design education program for young Children using 3D printer on creativity improvement (3D 프린터 활용 유아디자인교육 프로그램이 유아의 창의성 및 유용성 증진에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect on the creativity and Usability of young Children by applying design education pro young Children gramfor using 3D printer to the kindergarten field and, through the results, to prepare a realistic way to increase the utilization of 3D printer media in infant classrooms. In order to achieve this research purpose, 38 infants aged 5 from G kindergarten located in metropolitan A are divided into each experimental group and comparative group, and from August 2017 to January 2018, data were collected through 15 experiments over a period of about 6 months. As a research tool, in the Korean version of Torrance's Creativity Test, an infant shape test and a usability test scale were used, and the data processing and analysis were conducted through technical statistical methods and covariance analysis. As a result of the study, the program using 3D printer had a statistically significant effect on promoting creativity and Usability of young Children, and in particular, it had a remarkable effect on the elaboration of creativity composition. Based on these results, discussions on the existing Nuri process, which mainly aims to cultivate creative talents, the possibility of connecting 3D printers more widely and the role of teachers were made.

Survey on the Perception of Campus Facility Staff for the Development of a Campus Greenhouse Gases Management System (대학단위 온실가스 관리 프로그램 개발을 위한 대학 내 시설 담당자들의 인식 조사)

  • We examine the awareness of the facility managers in Korean universities and colleges over the global climate change and over the national greenhouse gas (GHG) energy target management program via a questionnaire survey. The result shows that the survey participants maintain high awareness on global and national issues including the climate change and the concept of the national GHG management framework. On the other hand, the responsibility of universities and colleges associated to these issues is not recognized as well, showing the necessity for further education. Additionally, important implications on the direction and the major factors that should be considered during the development of a GHG management program for universities and colleges are deduced from the result of the survey. In order to be effective in universities and colleges, a GHG management program must be able to estimate the present level of emissions accurately, to address campus-specific emissions characteristics, and to facilitate ease use for generic users. At the same time, active supporting services including education and promotion should be incorporated. The survey result can be utilized as basic data in guiding the future development of effective GHG management programs.
