Advances and Issues in Federated Learning Open Platforms: A Systematic Comparison and Analysis (연합학습 개방형 플랫폼의 발전과 문제점에 대한 체계적 비교 분석)

  • As federated learning brings a large paradigm to modern artificial intelligence research, efforts are being made to incorporate federated learning into research in various fields. However, researchers who apply federated learning face the problem of choosing a federated learning framework and benchmark tool suitable for their situation and purpose. This study aims to present guidelines for selection of federated learning frameworks and benchmark tools considering the circumstances of researchers who apply federated learning in practice. In particular, there are three main contributions in this study. First, it generalizes the situation of the researcher applying federated learning by combining it with the goal of federated learning and proposes guidelines for selecting a federated learning framework suitable for each situation. Second, it shows the suitability of selection by comparing the characteristics and performance of each federated learning framework to the researcher. Finally, the limitations of the existing federated learning framework and a plan for real-world federated learning operation are proposed.

  • 인터넷의 발달로 네트워크를 통한 멀티미디어 데이터 서비스가 늘어나면서 유료 콘텐츠에 대한 저작권 관리와 보호 및 다양한 이기종의 단말 장치에 적합한 콘텐츠 적응(adaptation) 서비스에 대한 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 이를 위하여 현재까지 DRM, Scalable Coding, Progressive Encryption, ISMA, ARMS, Metadata Adaptation 등 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만 요구사항을 포괄적으로 만족하는 멀티미디어 전송 프레임워크는 부재한 상태이다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 기존 기법을 분석하고 기능을 통합하여 안전하고 보다 여러 종류의 단말 장치에 서비스가 가능하며 다양한 서비스 형태를 가질 수 있는 프레임워크를 설계하였다. 이를 통해 멀티미디어 서비스가 보다 광범위하게 활용되고 확산 될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

  • ARM 아키텍처를 사용하는 임베디드 시스템에서 int8, fp16, fp32 데이터를 조합하여 c/c++로 작성된 mixed precision CNN 을 실행시키기 위한 프레임워크 구성으로, 네트워크의 레이어마다 다른 정밀도를 사용하여 네트워크 경량화 및 추론 정확도 향상을 위한 최적의 설정을 탐색하는 실험 및 분석이 가능토록 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 주요 구성은 network forwarding 중 레이어의 입력이 레이어에 설정된 정밀도와 다를 경우 실행되는 양자화/반양자화를 c/c++로 바인딩된 tensorflow 의 quantization 모듈을 사용하여 진행하고 ARM 시스템에서 c/c++의 fp16 을 사용하기 위해 fp16 를 컴파일이 가능한 ARM compiler 를 사용하는 프레임워크를 제안한다.

Multiple Conference Servers Architecture using Extended Control Channel Framework (확장 제어 채널 프레임워크를 사용한 다중 컨퍼런스 서버 구조)

  • In this paper, a new architecture of multiple conference servers which use extended control channel framework in SIP(session initiation protocol) session has been presented. For this purpose, in this study, a new extended control channel framework architecture which can distribute total conference system loads to multiple servers effectively has been presented. In the implementation, extended control channels have been connected by using SIP sessions that was established between each conference servers, and extended control channel messages which can be transferred through control channels have been designed in this study. These extended control channel messages can distribute system load effectively between multiple conference servers, and conference information data format that can represent extended control channel framework has also been designed. Furthermore, exchange procedures of extended control channel messages have also been presented. The performance of the proposed system has been analysed by simulation. The analysis results show that average SIP messages delay time and average media stream delay time have improved.

  • This paper proposes an object-oriented software development guidance and an evaluation index for the productivity related to Spring Framework 2.0 and 2.5. Spring Framework is a known successful open source standard model for lightweight container architecture. However, there is no comparison research about the performance of Spring Framework 2.0 and 2.5 with same identical platform. Quantitative analysis is supported as a part of LoC(Line of Code) analysis. There is a limit to develop the updated software with no the specific evaluating index for the productivity of the software. This work proposes an specific index for evaluating the productivity of new version Spring Framework on a platform. Base on the result, the specific guidance of the developing software is obtained.

  • This study proposed a framework for an infrastructure asset management manual which can be adjusted by different ordering authorities to develop their own manuals. For this, The necessity of asset management manual was examined through analysis of the current status and insufficiencies and limitations in the asset management manuals of the domestic government and ordering authorities. Second, the systems and characteristics of infrastructure asset management manuals in developed countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States were examined and compared. Finally, based on the domestic infrastructure asset management characteristics and foreign infrastructure asset management manuals, a framework for an infrastructure asset management manual that can be utilized by the ordering authorities was proposed considering generality of asset management manual, asset management maturity of ordering authorities, serviceability of manual, and cyclic processes of asset management.

  • Since the advent of Six Sigma in 1980's, Six Sigma is widely used in various industry areas, such as manufacturing, financial, government, and service, and proves its innovation ability and value by providing lots of success stories. Several researches have been conducted to adopt Six Sigma for Software Development and Software Quality Assurance-Software Six Sigma. Although the wide use of Six Sigma, there is no software tool to support the execution of Six Sigma Project. For this reason, the Quantitative Six Sigma Project Management is required to support for measuring and analyzing Six Sigma Projects, storing and reporting the results from Six Sigma Projects, and managing Six Sigma Projects through the whole process of, DMAIC or DMADV. In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of a Quantitative Six Sigma Project Management Framework and Tool. The execution of Six Sigma Project based on Six Sigma Project Management Tool benefits the quantification, the systematization, and the integration.

  • Spring framework is widely used as a base technology for e-government frameworks and to the extent it is a standard for web service development tools of Korean public institutions. However, recently, a remote code execution vulnerability(CVE-2018-1270) was found in an application using a spring framework. This paper proposes a method of analyzing the vulnerability experiment using a hacking scenario, Proof Of Concept(POC), in which the spring framework is a hazard to the server. We propose the patch to version 4.3.16 and version 5.0.5 or later as an ultimate response. It is also expected that the proposed experiment analysis on vulnerability of hacking scenario will be used as a data for improving performance of security programs and establishing a new authentication system.

  • In an environment transformed by smart factories, measuring the current level of the manufacturing system, deriving improvement targets and tasks and increasing the level of manufacturing competitiveness become the basic activities of the company. However, research on the component analysis and maturity assessment to ensure the future competitiveness of the company is in progress and in the early stages. This study analyzed the existing research on various models, development process, and framework for manufacturing system. In addition, we designed a structural model by deriving the components of future manufacturing system through smart factory related maturity assessment studies. We designed a meta-model that includes an assesment model and a transformation model, and derived the framework development process to propose an integrated framework for the maturity assessment of the future manufacturing system. We verified it by applying it into an actual evaluation project of smart factory.

  • The advancement of digital technology accelerates intelligence, convergence, and demands better change beyond traditional methods in all aspects of business models and technologies, infrastructure, processes, and platforms. Risk management is becoming more important because of various security risks, depending on the changing business environment and aligned to business goals is emerging from the existing information asset based risk management. For business aligned risk management, it is essential to understand the risk appetite for achieving business goals, which provides a basis for decision-making in subsequent risk management processes. In this paper, we propose a framework for analyzing the risk management framework, pre - existing risk analysis, and protection motivation theory that influences decisions on security risk management. To examine the practical feasibility of the developed risk appetite framework, we reviewed the applicability and significance of the proposed risk appetite framework through an advisory committee composed of security risk management specialists.
