Varietal Differences of Pod Shedding (땅콩 낙협 정도의 품종간차이)

  • This study was conducted to screen genetic stock for resistant to pod shedding. Materials used were 7 recommended varieties in Korea and 211 introduced varieties containing 94 Virginia type, 99 Spanish type and 18 Valencia type varieties. the days from seeding to first anthesis. number of mature pods per plant. 100 seeds weight and shedded pod ratio per total mature pod at harvesting were investigated. And the breaking tensile strength required to detach a pod from its gynophore was measured at a proper time for harvesting of each variety. In addition. factors related to pod shedding were discussed. The first anthesis of Spanish and Valencia types were earlier than that of Virginia type, but Korean recommended varieties which were recognized as Virginia type had relatively earlier anthesis. The varieties of Spanish type yielded more pods compared with those of Valencia and Virginia types. but Korean recom-mended varieties yielded slightly more pods than the others. Seeds weight of Korean recommended varieties was larger than not merely those of Spanish and Valencia types which were small seeds but also those of Virginia type which were large seeds. The breaking tensile strengths between pod and gynophore were various among the varieties belonging to same type. The strength was relatively strong in the Spanish type, but weak in both Virginia type and Korean recommended varieties. Therefore, pod shedding in the varieties of Spanish type was low and high in Virginia type and Korean recommended varieties. There were positive or negative correlations at the 0.1 % significan level among the days to first anthesis. number of pods per plant. seed weight, breaking tensile strength and shedding ratio. The pod shedding is considered a compound character that is affected by the factors such as breaking tensile strength between pod and gynophore, number of pods per plant and seed size.

  • This research was conducted to determine the contents of sugar and starch between rice cultivar, ASD1 being with high seedling establishment under direct seeding cultivation and IR72 being with poor seedling establishment. The ASD1 rice cultivar was higher in sugar and starch contents than those of IR72 during germination. This result was proven to the previous research out­put with high seedling establishment in direct seeding condition as well.

Studies on the Varietal Resistance of Rice to the Smaller Brown Planthopper, Laodelphax striatellus Fallen(IV) (애멸구에 대한 벼의 품종저항성에 관한 연구(VI))

  • Experiment was conducted to select the rice varieties and lines resistant to the smaller brown planthopper, Laodelphax striatellus Fallen, and study the cause of varietal resistance to the insect. The nature of varietal resistance was evaluated from the viewpoints of feeding and ovipositional preferences and antibiosis. Among the IRRI sources the varieties H 105, Muthumanikam, Vellailangalayan, Karsamba Red ASD-7. Manavari Co 22, Mudgo, PTB-18, IR 8 and IR 20 were selected as resistant sources. Among the domestic sources. only Suweon 213-1, Suweon 214 and Suweon 215 originated from the IR667 lines were resistant, and other leading varieties ail susceptible. The cause of resistance of rice to the insect seemed to be highly related with the non-feeding preference, not non-ovipositional preference. Nymphal mortality and rate of adult emergence were significantly different from the resistant and susceptible varieties. The rate of adult emergence was significantly lower in the resistant than In the susceptible varieties. The primary cause of lower adult emergence seemed to be due to the fact that the infects were suffered higher nymphal mortality in the resistant than in the susceptible varieties.

  • 14품종 찹쌀을 시료로 하여 유과제조에 대한 가공적성을 비교하였다 유과의 가공성과 상관관계가 있는 찹쌀의 이화학적 특성으로는 수침에 의해 유리되는 환원당 함량이었으며, 유리되는 환원당 함량의 양이 많은 품종의 찹쌀일수록 유과의 가공성이 좋았다. 14품종의 찹쌀 중 유과의 팽화도, 아삭아삭한 정도, 관능검사에 의한 기호도 등의 수치가 골고루 높아 유과제조에 적합한 품목으로는 CB243, 산동 71 이었다.

  • Comparisons were made between pubescent and smooth leaved cultivars or lines for the brown planthopper feeding preference, adult emergence percent, nymphal period, grain yield and brown rice recovery percent, and found that there were no significant differences of the traits tested between smooth and pubescent.

저장을 통한 곶감제조시기 조절

  • 본 시험은 곶감건조초기의 높은 습도로 인한 불량환경을 극복하고 고품질의 우수한 곶감을 생산하기 위하여 현재 국내에서 가장 많이 재배되고 있는 상주둥시와 갑주백목 품종을 사용하여 수행하였고, 저장을 통하여 곶감의 건조시기를 달리한 다음 곶감을 제조하여 상품성을 비교하였다. 저장에 따른 품종별 과중변화는 저장 30일에 품종별로 0.32~0.38%의 무게감소를 나타내었다. 과실의 경도는 저장 30일에 두품종 공히 2.3kg/$\Phi$5mm로 나타나 저장기간이 증가할수록 감소하였지만 이러한 경도의 감소는 곶감을 제조하기 위한 박피작업에는 무리가 없었다. 저장중에 발생한 비상품과는 저장 30일에 품종별로 3.2~4.2% 발생되었고 과실의 당도는 수확시와 비교하여 약간 감소하는 경향이었으며, 과실표면의 색도 역시 적색도는 약간 증가하였으나 유의성은 없었다. 곶감 건조중 무게변화는 박피 2주경에 대부분 박피시 중량보다 30~40%감소되었고 그 후는 완만하게 감소되어 처리 6주후에는 박피중량의 30% 이내로 되었다. 품종별로는 대과종인 갑주백목의 중량감소가 다소 늦었다. 박피시기가 늦을수록 감의 건조속도도 완만하여 30일 저장한 처리구는 박피후 8~9주에 건조가 완료되었다. 곶감 제조중 품종별 경도의 변화는 건조 1주후에 품종별로 0.38~0.42kg/$\Phi$5mm로 급격히 감소하였다가 건조 후기로 갈수록 다시 증가하여 건조 6주후에는 1.52~1.85kg/$\Phi$5mm나타났다. 곶감 제조후 상품성에 있어서 곶감의 당 함량은 수확직후 제조한 곶감이 저장한 후 제조한 곶감과 비교하여 약간 높은 경향이었으나 큰 차이는 없었다. 가용성 탄닌의 함량은 곶감 제조후 품종별로 0.7~0.9mg/g으로 나타나 떫은맛이 완전히 제거되었고 저장기간별로는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 곶감의 외관상 상품성을 나타낼 수 있는 색도는 박피시기가 늦어질수록 두 품종 공히 증가되었다. 특히 갑주백목 품종의 경우 수화직후 8.4인 적색도가 저장 30일후 13.2로 증가되었고 황색도도 13.5에서 33.1로 증가되어 곶감표면의 색도가 박피시기를 연장함으로써 크게 향상된 것으로 나타났다.

  • A total of 16 varieties from Korea and Indonesia were tested in Suwon, Korea (126$^{\circ}$9'E, 37$^{\circ}$16'N, 37m amsl) and Bali, Indonesia (115$^{\circ}$ 14'E, 8$^{\circ}$42' and 10m amsl). Most varieties of Indica and India/Japonica types showed adaptability to both areas. Generally Indica-type showed more number of panicles per hill than that of Indica/Japonica, while Indica/Japonica showed better performance in spike let number per panicle and 1,000 grain weight than Indica-type varieties.

  • Indonesian varieties were compared with Korean varieties on three different sowing times, each of which had three different nursery periods, at Suwon, Korea (126$^{\circ}$ 19'E and 37$^{\circ}$ 16'S). Indica-type varieties with exception of late-maturing ones had heading regardless of sowing time and nursery period. As the Korean varieties com-pared with those, the earlier sowing plots with shorter period of nursery gave better result in yields and yield components.

  • This study was carried out to investigate changes of chemical composition in seed, germination percentage, and seedling growth of two F$_1$ hybrid rices(V20A/Cheongcheongbyeo, IR62829A/Cheongcheongbyeo) during germination compared with their parents (V20B, IR62829B and Cheongcheongbyeo) and check variety(Samgangbyeo). F$_1$ hybrid rice showed higher content of free amino acid, inorganic elements, ($P_2O_5$, $K_2$O, MgO) and total sugar, and higher a-amylase activity in brown rice than those of their parents and check variety during germination. Therefore$F_1$hybrid rices showed hybrid vigor in germination percentage at 33 hour and 48 hour after sowing. $F_1$ Hybrid rices also showed /heterosis in seedling growth was different between V20A/Cheongcheongbyeo and IR 62829A/Cheongcheongbyeo. There were positive significant correlation between a-amylase activity and germination percentage, and seedling growth.

  • 국내 육성 품종 JW07-190, JW07-192과 일본산 도입 품종 Meiryoku (MR), Ryoufuu (RF), Yamanoibuki (YI) 대해서 80% 메탄올 추출물을 공시 재료로 ESR을 이용하여 항산화 효능을 평가하였다. 국내 육성 품종인 JW07-192에서 DPPH radical, alkyl radical, hydroxyl radical에 대해 비교적 높은 radical 소거능을 보였고, 모든 녹차 품종에서 강력한 DPPH radical 소거능을 보였다. 전체적으로, 국내 육성 품종인 JW07-192가 일본 도입 품종과 비교하였을 때 더 좋은 항산화 효능을 나타내었다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 국내 육성 계통인 JW07-192가 $431.57{\pm}28.45\;mg/g$로 가장 높은 함량을 나타냈고, 플라보노이드 함량은 도입 품종인 YI가 $313.44{\pm}6.31$로 가장 높은 함량을 보였다.
