The test instrument utilized to diagnose and evaluate a trainee's ability are necessary for an effective information literacy education. Nevertheless, there is a lack of a standardized test instrument to comprehensively measure students' information literacy. The purpose of this study is to develop a standardized test instrument to evaluate the information literacy of middle school students, and to verify the reliability and validity of the test instrument. For this purpose, this study selected factors that can show the information literacy and developed an information literacy test framework that was designed based on Guilford's SOI model and Meeker's SOI-LA test. The test instrument that was developed through this study is a 30-item Web-based multiple-choice test. This study administrated tests in middle school students (794 students joined), and analyzed difficulty, reliability, discrimination index, validity of tests, and reviewed tests items to qualify the standardized test. The cutoff score was also decided when using these tests as a diagnostic information literacy assessment.

For effective information sharing, data provenance semantics need to be managed effectively. Based on a scheme to represent data provenance semantics, we propose a model to calculate information sharing costs. Information sharing costs are derived from probabilities of type I and type II errors that occur in organizational information sharing, costs related to these errors, and information sharing distances between organizational units which are determined by information sharing workflows. We apply the model to various types of information sharing workflows including departmental information systems, hierarchical information systems, a hub and a stand-alone system. The calculated information sharing costs show that the hub with data standardization is best in information sharing; however without standardization its information sharing cost deteriorates to that of a departmental information system. And, any information sharing workflow is better than a stand-alone system. It is proved that the model is useful in analyzing effectiveness of information sharing workflows and their characteristics.

In this article, we try to study the relationship among quality management activities, employee trusts, and employee satisfactions in small venture companies in Korea. Based on the previous studies, we build a couple of hypotheses about communication, process management, business policies, innovative changes, employee trust and employee satisfaction. From our empirical study, we find that communication and innovative changes have an positive effect on employee trust. Also, employee satisfaction is positively influenced by employee trust. Our study provides the following implications for organization management. First, for employee satisfaction, in an organization, it is very important to build employee trusts among higher managements, firms, business processes, evaluations, and employees. Second, in order to build employee trusts, our study shows that improving communications among employees and customers and having continuous innovative changes such as improving current business processes, problem solving, establishing standards and maintaing high productions are important.

Recently, two international standard organizations, ISO and OGC, have done the work of standardization for GIS. Current standardization work for providing interoperability among GIS DB focuses on the design of open interfaces. But, this work has not considered procedures and methods for designing GIS DB. Eventually, GIS DB has its own model. When we share the data by open interface among heterogeneous GIS DB, differences between models result in the loss of information. Our aim in this paper is to revise the design guidelines for geographic information databases in order to make consistent spatial data models, logical structures, and semantic structure of populated geographical databases. In details, we propose standard guidelines which convert ISO abstract schema into relation model, object-relation model, object-centered model, and geometry-centered model. Furthermore, we provide sample models for applying these guidelines in commercial GIS S/Ws. Building GIS DB based on design guidelines proposed in the paper has the following advantages: the interoperability among databases, the standardization of schema definitions, and the catalogue of GIS databases through.

ENSO(El $Ni\check{n}o$ Southern Oscillation)은 태평양상의 해양과 대기간의 복잡한 상호작용의 일부이며, ENSO 순환(ENSO cycle)의 극한상태인 엘니뇨와 라니냐는 세계적으로 발생하는 홍수와 가뭄 등 자연재해와 많은 연관성을 가지고 있음이 많은 연구를 통하여 알려지고 있다. 우리나라에서도 ENSO와 수문변량들간의 관계를 분석하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는데, 수문자료의 변동계수가 크기 때문에 이를 단순 표준화하여 해석하는데 있어 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 자료의 표준정규분포화를 통하여 ENSO와 우리나라 수문변량들간의 관계를 분석하였다. ENSO를 정량적으로 표준지수화하기 위하여 적도부근 남태평양 Tahiti섬과 오스트레일리아 북부 Darwin 지역에서의 기압차를 월별로 표준화(standardization)한 SOI(Southern Oscillation Index)지수를 이용하였고, 수문자료를 정량적으로 표준지수화하기 위하여 우리나라 23개 기상관측소의 월강수량, 12개 기상관측소의 월평균기온, 월최저기온, 월최고기온 자료를 이용하여 표준정규분포를 가지는 표준정규지수로 환산하였다. 환산된 자료의 계절적 영향을 파악하고자 3개월 단위로 구분하여, 초과확률 등을 이용한 분석을 실시한 결과, 특정지역의 수문변동이 남방진동지수와 유의한 상관관계를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 현재 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는 수문기상학적 예측모형의 개발에 유용한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

소프트웨어 설계 및 개발에 있어 설계방법의 표준화는 업무의 효율화와 결과물 평가를 위해 설계자, 프로그래머, 사용자에게 반드시 필요하다. 최근 소프트웨어 설계방법의 표준화로 UML(Unified Modeling Language)이 적극적으로 도입됨에 따라 본 연구는 국내 소프트웨어 개발업체의 UML 도입에 영향을 미치는 요인을 찾기 위하여 수행 프로젝트, 보유 인프라, 조직내부, 조직외부 등 4개의 요인(7개 변수)으로 연구모형을 도출하고 실증적 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과, UML 도입 결정요인으로서 UML도구 공급자의 지원이 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 UML도구 공급과 관련하여 사용방법 교육 및 사후관리에 대한 관리적 시사점을 제공한다. 한편 UML의 도입 후 사용정도에는 객체지향개발언어의 사용정도, UWL도구 공급자의 지원, 조직원의 신기술 학습의욕, 최고경영자의 지원, 프로젝트의 규모가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

다양한 고객의 니즈를 충족시키기 위해 등장한 Mass Customization은 과거 대량생산방식의 비용만큼 저렴한 비용으로 다양한 제품 및 서비스를 생산한다. 하지만 저비용과 제품의 다양성은 서로 상반되는 특성을 지니기 때문에 이를 해결할 수 있는 여러 표준화 방법들이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 Mass Customization을 지원하는 부품 표준화 방법 중의 하나인 Product Platform을 결정하는 방법을 도출해보고자 한다. 특히 TRIZ(Theory of Inventive Problem Solving)의 모순분석을 활용하여 Product Platform을 구성하는 아이디어를 얻어 냈는데 그 과정을 통해 Platform, 한정된 자원이나 제한된 조건 안에서 최대한 많은 제품을 얻을 수 있도록 모형을 도출하였다. 또한 Design Structure Matrix를 통해 부품들의 연관성을 측정하여 주요 해결책을 보완함으로써 Product Platform 결정의 유연성을 증대시킬 수 있는 해결책을 제시하였다.

The systematic classification of database technologies is being much debated issue currently in the telecommunication and database industry. Such a rapid requirement toward standard classification model will enable many experts to characterize database technologies. The purpose of this study is to obtain a general overview and suggest a draft for the development of standard model associated with classification. This presented model is concentrating on information and database system. The purpose of this study is to review recent studies on the service quality evaluation of digital libraries and to derive from research trends and several suggestions. Specifically, this paper compared and analyzed recent literatures on e-service quality evaluation of digital libraries in Korea with regard to service quality evaluation models and measure methodologies. Finally, this study offered two important suggestions. The one is the necessity of developing a standardized service quality evaluation model for digital libraries which is customized in korean environment and the other is establishment of development guideline of service quality evaluation for digital libraries.

Based on the student evaluation of teaching from 'A' university where students are graded by relative performance, we conducted a research on the effect of course characteristics in student evaluation of teaching. The results show that the score of student evaluation of teaching seems to be higher for those classes with more proportion of male students, higher grades, and smaller class sizes. From these results, we suggest an evaluation model which can control the effect of grade and sex. Also we illustrate the performance of the evaluation model by using a case study.
