Verbal Violence Type in Operating Room Nurses, Fusion Study on Emotional Response and Coping (수술실 간호사의 언어폭력유형, 정서적 반응과 대처에 대한 융합연구)

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the relationship between verbal violence type, emotional response and coping in the operating room nurse. The subjects of the study were 400 nurses working in 20 general hospitals and 372 nurses in the operating room. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the perpetrators of the verbal violence experienced by the subject were physicians, direct supervisors, and more than half of the subjects were considering the transition. The most frequent cases of language violence were when the equipment was inoperable or not used during surgery, There were significant differences in verbal violence experience according to marriage, clinical career, and work style. Language violence emotional response showed significant difference with gender, position and coping, age, academic background, clinical career, and position. There was a significant correlation between experience of verbal violence and emotional response, emotional response and coping. Therefore, the results of this study will contribute to the development of coping strategies and prevention education programs.

A Study on the Categorizes of School Bullying through Topic Modelling Method (토픽모델링 기반의 학교폭력 사례 유형 연구)

  • As part of an effort to derive measures to prevent school violence, which is continuously emphasized in the school field, this study tried to examine the topic that has recently become an issue related to school violence from the perspective of data science. In particular, it was attempted to crawl posts related to school violence using online SNS data and examine the characteristics of each type by using the topic modeling method. As a result of arranging the keywords for each topic derived from the topic modeling analysis by type, it was possible to divide the contents into three main categories: prevention of school violence, punishment of perpetrators, and measures to be taken. First, as the contents of school violence prevention activities, it is the contents of the role of specialized organizations for the prevention of school violence. Second, it was derived from the contents of measures and procedures for school violence. Third, it was possible to examine the contents of recent issues of school violence. In future research, it is necessary to conduct research that is used to solve the social problems facing based on data-based prediction.

The Effect of Domestic Violence Experience on Adolescents' Violence towards Their Parents and the Mediating Effect of the Internet Addiction (청소년의 가정폭력 경험이 부모폭력에 미치는 영향과 인터넷 중독의 매개효과)

  • This research investigated the relationship between the domestic violence experience of the adolescents and violence towards their parents, and the mediating effect of internet addiction on the relationship. For this research high school and middle school students in Seoul by purposive sampling method as target sample. As a result, 25.3% among the sample answered that they had used verbal or physical violence towards their parents at least one time during the previous year. The group of abused by parents and the observing marital violence/abused by parents group were related to violence towards their parents significantly. On the verification of the effect of internet addiction as the mediator, the internet addiction variable revealed possessing the partial mediating effect in the abused by parents group and the observing marital violence/abused by parents group. It can be concluded that domestic violence experience influenced adolescents' violence towards their parents directly and also indirectly through the internet addiction.

Exploring Types of Verbal Violence Through Speech Analysis on Non-facing Channels (비대면 채널에서의 음성분석을 통한 언어폭력 유형 탐색)

  • This study investigates the rising issue of verbal violence at non-facing channels. Focus Group Interview(FGI) was conducted to examine verbal violence occurred during emotional labors in real-life cases. In addition, the distribution of verbal violence in the conversation was confirmed through a new big data technology called Speech Analysis(SA). The result findings highlighted the two perspectives as below. First, verbal violence occurred through calls, is classified into personal insult, swearing/verbal abuse, unreasonable demand, (sexual) harassment and intimidation/threat. Second, Speech Analysis result exhibited the most frequently appeared verbal violence were personal insult and swearing/verbal abuse. Informal language use and speaking in disrespectable manner was the highest rate in personal insult category. Moreover general cursing was the highest rate in swearing/verbal abuse category. In particular, the rate of using curse language was the highest in overall cases of verbal violence. This study summarizes the types of verbal violence that occur in non-facing channels and suggests a need for further investigation on how verbal stress affects working environment for emotional labor.

  • In this study, As youth school violence is emerging as a serious social problem, this study needs to actively respond to school violence to prevent and reduce the proportion of secondary cyber violence by examining previous studies related to school violence. By recognizing problems through comparative analysis of the recent status and characteristics of school violence according to changes in the educational environment after COVID-19, we intend to find the right direction for schools, families, and communities to cope with school violence. The analysis data is a psychology that takes into account the change in the educational environment caused by COVID-19 through the first survey of school violence in 2021 by the Ministry of Education. It is meaningful to suggest directions and alternatives to prevent school violence and solve school violence problems by strengthening teachers' responsibility and improving their ability to cope efficiently.

A Study on the Quests of 'Warlords of Draenor' in the Game, World of Warcraft (World of Warcraft '드레노어의 전쟁군주' 퀘스트 연구)

  • This study analyzed a total of 1,025 quests in the 'Warlords of Draenor' which is the fifth expansion set to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, by dividing them into violent and nonviolent quests. There was a total of 515 nonviolent quests which can be categorized into 46 types and a total of 510 violent quests that can be categorized into 7 types. The balance between violent and nonviolent quests shows that the game makers limited the number of adverse factors that can cause the players to be excessively absorbed in the game while successfully incorporating factors that can have positive effect on game players.

Victimization, Psychological Adaptation, and Delinquency among Adolescents (청소년의 폭력피해경험과 심리적 적응 및 비행문제)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the actual condition of poly-victimization and examine the difference in the levels of psychological adaptation and delinquency by victimization types among adolescents. A total 6,174 cases from '2013 Adolescent Deviant Behaviors and Policy Issues' of NYPI was used for the analysis. Main findings are that 8.3% of adolescents exposed to more than two types of victimization and 2.1% of them experienced more than three types of victimization. There were significant differences in the levels of psychological adaptation and delinquency by victimization types. Study findings were discussed in terms of implications for research and intervention of adolescent poly-victimization.

A Study on Frequency, Type, and Context of Violence in School-Life Webtoon (학원물 웹툰에 나타난 폭력의 양태와 맥락에 대한 내용분석)

  • The study analyzed the frequency, type, and context of violence in 10 school-life webtoon published on Korean portal-site, Naver. Results of content analysis showed 2.15 PAT(Perpetrator-Action-Target) per 1 episode. As for the types of violence, physical violence accounted for 73.2 percent of PATs. As for the characteristics of characters, 53.6 percent of those who committed violence were set to have good-looking. 35.9% of those who committed of violence were heros and 37.3% were villains. The case that perpetrator and target were friends accounted for 60.8%. The case that a travesty is made of the violent scenes adopting excessive expressions, overtures, and balloons accounted for 66.7%. The most common motive for violence was the means for the interests and beliefs of individuals and groups (29.4%), followed by fun (20.9%). The case that the punishment or compensation for violence is absent accounted for 79.9%.

The effects of children's exposure to domestic violence on juvenile delinquency: A meta-analytic review (가정폭력 노출경험이 아동·청소년 비행에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study performed a meta-analysis on 45 research studies conducted in Korea on the relationship between domestic violence experience and juvenile delinquency. The meta-analysis calculated 125 effect sizes. The study then analyzed the effect of exposure to domestic violence on juvenile delinquency and evaluated the relationship according to research variables. The probabilities of juvenile delinquency by children who witnessed domestic violence, experienced violence directly, or experienced child abuse were 14%, 17.8% and 17.2% higher than that of children otherwise, respectively. However, the difference in experience types or child abuse types on mean effect sizes was not statistically significant. Cross effect between the type of domestic violence and the type of juvenile delinquency did not significantly impact the mean effect size of juvenile delinquency. The effect of domestic violence experience on delinquency was highest for junior high students, followed by elementary students and high school students, Difference in the effect size among groups was statistically significant. The effect size with respect to publication year was shown to have a minor static correlation, but the publication type was not meaningful. The study confirmed the effect of domestic violence on juvenile delinquency and emphasized that the responsibility of social environment in juvenile delinquency increase has been overlooked.
