  • This study is the second investigation on the steady flow characteristics of an SI engine with a semi-edge combustion chamber as a function of the port shape with varying evaluation positions. For this purpose, the planar velocity profiles were measured from 1.75B, 1.75 times of bore position apart from the bottom of head, to 6.00B positions using particle - image velocimetry. The flow patterns were examined with both a straight and a helical port. The velocity profiles, streamlines, and centers of swirl were almost the same at the same valve lift regardless of the measuring position, which is quite different from the case of the pent-roof combustion chamber. All the eccentricity values of the straight port were out of distortion criterion 0.15 through the lifts and the position. However, the values of the helical port exceeded the distortion criterion by up to 4 mm lift, but decreased rapidly above the 3.00B position and the 5 mm lift. There always existed a relative offset effect in the evaluation of the swirl coefficient using the PIV method due to the difference of the ideal impulse swirl meter velocity profile assumption, except for the cylinder-center-base estimation that was below 4 mm of the straight port. Finally, it was concluded that taking the center as an evaluation basis and the assumption about the axial velocity profile did not have any qualitative effect on swirl evaluation, but affected the value owing to the detailed profile.

  • This paper is the first investigation of the steady flow characteristics of an SI engine with a semi-wedge combustion chamber as a function of the port shape. For this purpose, the planar velocity profiles were measured at the 1.75B position by particle image velocimetry. The flow patterns were examined with both a straight and a helical port. Two swirls were observed up to 4 mm valve lift with the straight port and up to 2 mm with the helical one; however, only one swirl was present after these lifts. The flow characteristics changed suddenly between 4 and 5 mm lift in the straight port; on the other hand, the change with lift was gradual with the helical port - the transition points between flow regimes were different with the port shapes. In addition, the centers of the swirls were relatively far from the cylinder center so that the effect of eccentricity may not be negligible at 1.75B, regardless the shape. The eccentricity values with the straight port were especially high - over 0.5 for all lifts. Finally, real velocities were found to be much lower than those predicted by the assumption of ISM evaluation, with the profiles differing qualitatively as well.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of forms and distributions of Gapyoungchon potholes. Different sizes of 153 potholes were distributed in the upper stream marginal area that was 30×25m, and over 70 percent among them were egg-shaped potholes. A development of joint in pothole was not important to make potholes in the stream but the mean size of potholes with joint was larger than without joint. Moreover, the schistosity structure of the bedrock was more important factor to develop potholes in this area. Finally, four cross sectional faces were found in this study area. From the reason, Gapyoungchon potholes are distributed on the rock terraces.

  • 기존 RTK-GPS는 고가의 장비인 RF방식의 무선모뎀을 사용함으로써 무선국의 허가, 전파의 지리적 장애물에 의한 영향, 전송거리의 제한, 주파수 혼신, 주파수 자원의 유한성 등의 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 휴대전화를 전송 매체로 이용하여 보정 데이터를 송 수신하는 방법으로, PDA 환경하에서 RTK-GPS 보정 데이터를 전송하는 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 기준국의 서버는 GPS 수신기와 연결된 RS-232 시리얼 포트로부터 보정 데이터를 수신하여 휴대전화와 연동을 통한 이동국의 PDA 단말기로 보정 데이터를 전송하고, RS-232 시리얼 포트를 통해 이동국의 GPS수신기에 전달한다. 이동국의 측위프로그램은 GPS수신기로부터 RSC-232 시리얼 포트를 통한 위치 정보를 수신하여 상대측위를 하게되며, 정확한 위치 측정이 이루어진다.

  • As urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution are becoming significant issues in major cities, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is gaining attention as an efficient solution. In this study, we conducted a geographic information system (GIS)-based spatial analysis and clustering algorithm considering the actual data of the terrain and infrastructure in the Busan area, through which we were able to select the location of vertiports and corridors (flight routes) for the UAM operation. Based on the Gimhae International Airport, which is expected to be the center of the UAM infrastructure system in the Busan region, we judged that three vertiport locations in the target area were suitable. Subsequently, we used the A* (A-star) algorithm considering Ground Risk to select a flight path that minimized both risk and distance. Through this, we confirmed a risk reduction effect of 80.168% compared to the minimum distance route.

  • As dual port RAMs are widely used in the various applications, the need for an efficient algorithm to diagnose faults in dual port RAMs is increased. In this paper we propose an efficient algorithm that can diagnose all kinds of faults in dual port RAMs. In addition, the new algorithm can distinguish various fault models and locate the position related to each fault. Using the new algorithm, fault diagnosis for dual port RAMs can be performed efficiently and the performance evaluation with previous approaches proves the efficiency of the new algorithm.

  • Recently, transport layer mobility supporting approaches based on SCTP, which is a new standard transport layer protocol, are proposed. In this paper, the handover performance and overheads of these transport layer mobility supporting approaches are compared to those of the traditional network layer mobility supporting approaches. Through the simulation results, it is shown that the handover performance of the transport layer mobility supporting approaches is better or at least similar to that of the plain MIPv6, which is the representative network layer mobility supporting approach. With respect to the amount of control packet, the transport layer approaches impose less overhead than any of the network layer approaches.

Portal Placement for Thoracoscopic Right Middle Lung Lobectomy with One-Lung Ventilation in Beagle Dogs (비글견에서 편측성 분리폐 환기를 이용한 흉강경 우중폐엽 절제술을 위한 포트 위치)

  • Purpose of this study is to determine the reasonable portal approach for thoracoscopic right middle lung lobectomy in small sized dogs under 10 kg. Ten healthy beagle dogs weighing $8.67{\pm}0.49kg$ were included. Under general anesthesia, one-lung ventilation (1LV) was achieved using endobronchial blocker with guidance of fiber-optic bronchoscope. Two portal approaches were used; 8-6-10 intercostal space (ICS) and 8-6-5 ICS approach. Thoracoscopic right middle lung lobectomy was performed using endoscopic linear self-cutting stapler and specimen retrieval bag. Each approach was evaluated by scoring 0; bad, 1; endurable, 2; good, 3; excellent in following five category, 1) visualization, 2) triangulation; instrumental sword fighting in the thoracic cavity, 3) approach to hilar pedicle; application of stapler, 4) any obstacles in applicating Lap Bag, and 5) the operator's convenience. Favorable working space was secured by 1LV and thoracoscopic right middle lung lobectomy was successfully completed in all dogs. There was no need to change the portal location and iatrogenic complication. Most of scores were good to excellent in both approaches. Consequently, both approaches are feasible methods for thoracoscopic right middle lung lobectomy with one lung ventilation using endoscopic linear self-cutting stapler in dogs weighing less than 10 kg.

Feasibility and Safety of a Technique Intended to Place the Catheter Tip in the Right Atrium without Abutment Against the Cardiac Wall during Implantation of the Totally Implantable Venous Access Port (완전이식형 정맥 접근 포트 삽입 시 카테터 팁을 심벽에 닿지 않고 우심방 내 위치시키는 방법의 타당성과 안전성)

  • Purpose To assess the safety and feasibility of intentionally positioning the catheter tip in the right atrium (RA) without an abutment during implantation of a totally implantable venous access port (TIVAP). Materials and Methods We enrolled 330 patients who had undergone TIVAP implantation between January and December 2016 and postoperative chest CT. The TIVAP was placed using the single-incision technique to access the axillary vein directly from the incision line. To position the catheter tip in the RA without abutment, blood return was checked before cutting. Catheter length and complications were evaluated by retrospectively reviewing medical images and records. Results All patients achieved successful catheter tip positioning without abutment or dysfunction. The median tip position was 15.3 mm distal to the cavoatrial junction (CAJ) on fluoroscopy and 6 mm distal to the CAJ on CT. Catheter tips migrated a median of 10.4 mm cephalically on CT compared to fluoroscopy. Thromboses were detected in the RA and superior vena cava in one patient each. Conclusion Intentional catheter tip positioning in the RA without abutment is a safe and feasible technique with a low incidence of thrombosis and no observed dysfunction.

KSTAR 진공용기 시작품 제작관련 기술분석

  • 한국중공업(주)에서 수행한 KSTAR 진공용기 시작품 제작이 완성됨에 따라 제작과 관련된 종합기술을 분석하여 보았다. KSTAR 진공용기 시작품(그림1)은 전체의 1/4섹터인 90도 부분으로서 NBI(Neutral Beam Injection) 포트를 포함하는 45도 섹터와 축소포트(Reduced Port)를 포함하는 45도 섹터를 각각 먼저 제작한 후 두 부분을 용접하여 최종 시작품을 완성하였다. 용접은 SMAW법과 GTAW법 등 두가지 방법을 사용하였으며, 초기 용접시는 용접 면적이 작기 때문에 GTAW법을 이용하였고, 마무리 용접과 같이 용접 면적이 넓고 거친 부분에는 SMAW법을 이용하여 용접하였다. 모든 용접이 완전통과 용접이기 때문에 구조적 안전 면에서 좋으나, 진공측면에서는 다소 미흡한 점이 있다. 시작품은 상하 대칭구조로서 원통부분, 원형부분, 원추부분, 너클부분 (그림2) 등으로 나뉘어 지며 이중 원형품은 금형을 이용하여 성형하였고, 나머지 부분은 굽힘가공 후 절단적업을 하였다. 진공용기 조립은 안쪽과 바깥쪽 내벽부터 용접한 후 폴로이달 리브를 용접하고 외벽을 용접한다. 수평포트와 수직포트를 위해 스터브를 용접한 후 미리 용접해둔 NBI 포트 및 축소포트를 부착시켰다. 용접부위의 누설시험을 위한 방법으로, 용접주위 표면에서 개구하고 있는 홈에 적색 침투액을 침투시켜 침투 후 이 액을 홈의 개구로부터 빨아 내어 용접부위 표면상태에서 실제의 홈의 폭보다 확대한 홈의 지시모양으로 나타내게 하여 누설여부를 알기 쉽게 하는 액체 침투 탐상법을 적용하였다. 지시모양의 크기가 5mm 이상인 부분에 대해서는 재용접을 하였다. 누설 시험으로 초음파 탐상시험이 본제품 제작시 수행되어야 한다. 완성된 시작품에 대해 3군데의 위치에서 각각의 부분들이 용접되기 전과 후에 치수를 각각 측정하여 비교하였다. 또한 포트들에 대해서도 용접 전후 치수를 각각 측정하였다. 이러한 측정은 줄자를 사용하여 측정하였으므로 차 후 3차원 정밀 측정이 수반되어야 한다. 이상과 같이 시작품 제작을 통하여 문제점을 파악하고 개선책을 마련함으로서 향 후 KSTASR 진공용기 본 제품 제작할 때 반영코자 한다.
