  • As a notion of environment protection changes throughout the world, construction engineers, as part of the effort to resolve environmental problems, have been actively doing research on environmental friendly porous concrete using large and non-uniform aggregate. Porous Concrete enables water and air to pass through a firmly hardened material and allows required nutrients to reach roots of plants. The purpose of this study is to analyze planting ability when the change of aggregate gradation and void ratio. The results of an experiment from the planting ability of the porous concrete to its influence on the compressive strength are reported in this paper. As a result of the experiment, the compressive strength is higher when the gradation of aggregate is smaller, and it also goes higher when the void ratio gets smaller The planting ability of porous concrete is decided by the germination and the grass length of Indigofera pseudo-tinctoria(IPT). The length of IPT is longer when the gradation of aggregate is greater and the void ratio gets smaller.

  • This study is to analyze the influence of paste flow, compaction time and compaction thickness on the fundamental properties of porous concrete. Results of this study were shown as follows; 1) As paste flow increase, compaction time according to paste flow and compaction thickness decrease. Also, though paste flow is same, as compaction thickness increase, compaction time Increase. So It must be considered that the influence of compaction time according to paste flow and compaction thickness. 2) In the range of this study, compressive strength is the highest value at paste flow 190mm. 3) Occasion of manufactured compactor in this study compaction thickness 10, 15cm is influenced heavily but compaction thickness 20cm is influenced slightly.

  • In recent years, the study on the porous concrete which has excellent permeability is actively advanced in the field of architectural and civil engineering. But porous concrete has a reciprocal concept in the aspect of comparative large and continuos void structure and reduction of void for insurance of the necessary strength on the mixing proportion, must have satisfied of the properties of these. Therefore this study is series of experiment for the strength elevation and evaluated the effect according to fine replacement ratio and levels of cement content. As a result, the strength of porous concrete was elevated by an increase of fine replacement ratio and cement content.

  • As the notion of environment protection changes throughout the world, construction engineers, as part of the effort to resolve environmental problems, have been actively doing research on environmental friendly porous concrete using large and non-uniform aggregate. Concrete having a great deal of continuous porosity enable water and air to pass freely through firmly hardened material, allowing necessary nutrients to reach roots of vegetation, thereby sustaining them. It is possible to prevent the exhaustion of natural resources by recycling waste concrete and industrial by-products, to reduce damage caused by the destruction of nature through effective management of natural resources, to preserve the natural environment and vegetation in urban areas by activating the soil, protecting the underground ecology system, and growing garden plants through the application of environmentally friendly concrete.

  • Recently, there has been for a number of reasons growing interest in the use of porous concrete, and it is used as an ecological material. But, because the valuation methods of the quality on the fresh porous concrete aren't established up till now, it is difficult that the harden porous concrete is made sure of its required quality. This study is to present the measurement method of the void ratio on the fresh porous concrete and to analyze the influence of water-cement ratio and vibrating time on the binder content covered a coarse aggregate. Results of this study were shown as follows; The measurement methods of the void ratio and aggregate-binder weight ratio on the fresh porous concrete can be useful as data for the quality control of fresh porous concrete.

  • Porous concrete with a great deal of continuous porosity enables to contain water and to pass air freely through firmly hardened material, and allow necessary nutrients to reach roots of vegetation. Therefore, this paper deals with the voluntary properties and efficiency for planting of plant porous concrete. The results of experiment showed that void volumes were 17% to 31%, and compressive strength ranged between 80kgf/cm$^2$ and 180kgf/cm$^2$ when the ratio of the paste to aggregate was 0.3-0.5 When the aggregate size are 20-30mm, the paste to aggregate ratio is 0.3, and the length of Paranial Ryegress came up as 32cm. Ut supra the efficiency of planting goes through Paranial Ryegrass in result the length of plant are in compliance with void volume and aggregate size.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze void ratio, coefficient of water permeability, and strength characteristics when silica fume and carbon fibers were added in order to improve the strength of porous concrete, and when recycled aggregates were used. Comparing with the case that recycled aggregate was not used, as the replacement ratio of recycled aggregate increased, the differences in void ratios and strength characteristics were decreased. In the case that silica fume was used, the content of 10% silica fume was most effective in improving strength. In the case that carbon fibers were used, the content of 3% carbon fiber were good to achieve the highest flexural strength, and Pan-derived CF was much better than pitch-derived CF in improving these effects.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate properties of porous concrete according to rheological properties of binder and compaction factor. The results of this study, the rheological property of binder is stabilized when a mixing time is over 240 seconds in case of target flow values are $175\%\;and\;200\%$. The void ratio of specimen has a very near value by target void ratio on the whole according as the rheological properties of binder and compaction energy are changed when target flow value is $200\%$, compaction energy is $75kN{\cdot}m/m^2$. The specimen has the excellent compressive strength when compaction energy and target flow value are $100kN{\cdot}m/m^2$ and $200\%$ respectively.

  • The present study was to examine the influence of porosity and moisture content on the water permeability, strength and plant-growth characteristics of porous concrete. The result of the experiment verified that the coefficient of permeability of porous concrete with porosity between $30\%\;and\;36\%$ increased by 2cm/sec and the compressive strength decreased 1MPa at every $3\%$ increase of porosity. In addition, the plant growth of porous concrete showed 5cm at $36\%$ porosity and 2.5cm at $30\%$ porosity respectively. Thus, the higher the porosity, the more the plant grew. When $2\%$ moisture content was used in porous concrete with the same porosity, the plant growth was accelerated two times faster than the case without it.

  • This study evaluates the properties of porous concrete for pavement according to content of silica fume and steel fiber. The results of the test indicate that in every condition, the void ratio and the coefficient of water permeability of porous concrete for pavement satisfy both the domestic standards and proposition values. Among the properties of strength, the compressive strength satisfies the standards in the specification of KNHC as for every factor of mixture but in the case of the flexural strength, more than $0.6vol.\%$ of steel fiber satisfied the JCI proposition values. The case when silica fume and steel fiber are used simultaneously presents the strongest durability and Noise Reduction Coefficient is 0.48 to prove that it possesses almost $50\%$ sound absorption.
