Epoxy Planarization Films for the Stainless Steel Substrates for Flexible Displays (플렉시블 디스플레이용 Stainless Steel 기판의 에폭시 평탄막 연구)

  • This paper reports the first results of a series of planarization film study for the stainless steel (SS) substrates for flexible displays. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and octa(dimethylsiloxypropylglycidylether) silsesquioxane (OG) were chosen for the organic and the hybrid epoxies respectively and diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM) was used as a curing agent at 1:2 stoichiometric ratio. These materials were spin-coated on SS substrates and thermal-cured. TGA study indicated that both the pristine and the cured OG were more thermally stable than DGEBA. AFM study showed that the smooth surfaces of $1{\sim}2\;nm$ roughness can be prepared for both DGEBA and OG when the films were thick ($>\;1\;{\mu}$). The electrical properties such as dielectric constant, capacitance and the leakage current with respect to the applied voltage were all stable even after the stress of $100\;V/100^{\circ}C$ was applied for $0{\sim}10000$ seconds indicating that the insulating properties of DGEBA and OG films were very reliable.

  • DLC(Diamond Like Carbon) 박막은 높은 열전도도, 큰 전기저항, 높은 강도 등의 다이아몬드와 유사한 특성을 가지고 있으면서 저온 저압에서도 합성이 가능하고, 합성 조건에 따라 물리 화학적 특성도 넓게 조절 할 수 있으며 상대적으로 넓은 면적에서 균일하고 평활한 박막의 합성이 가능하여 산업적 응용 면에서도 경쟁력을 갖추고 있다[1]. 이러한 DLC 박막을 합성함에 있어서 RF-PECVD(Radio Frequency Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) 방법은 PECVD 방법 중 가장 보편적으로 사용되고 또 캐패시터 타입의 RF-PECVD 방법은 균일한 대면적 증착과 대량생산이 가능하다[1,2]. 본 연구에서는 우수한 특성을 갖는 DLC 박막의 증착 조건을 찾기 위해 캐패시터 타입의 RF-PECVD를 사용하여 공정 가스의 유량과 RF Power를 변화하여 박막을 증착하고, 증착된 박막의 특성을 연구하였다. DLC 박막은 ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) 유리 기판 위에 $100^{\circ}C$에서 5 min 동안 아세틸렌($C_2H_2$) 가스를 사용하여 가스 유량과 RF Power를 변화하여 증착하였다. 증착된 DLC 박막의 특성은 투과도, 평탄도, 두께를 측정하여 비교하였다. 가시광선 영역(380-780 nm)에서 투과도를 측정한 결과 ITO 유리 기판을 기준으로 한 DLC 박막의 투과도는 가시광선 영역 평균 94.8~98.8% 사이의 값으로 매우 높은 투과율을 나타내었다. 투과도는 가스 유량이 증가함에 따라 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, RF Power의 변화에는 특정한 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 박막의 평탄도($R_a$, $R_{rms}$)와 두께는 AFM(Atomic Force Microscope)을 사용하여 측정하였다. 평탄도 $R_{rms}$는 0.8~3.3 nm, $R_a$는 0.6~2.5 nm 사이를 나타내었고 RF Power와 가스 유량의 변화에 따른 경향성을 나타내지는 않았다. 두께는 RF Power 25 W에서 55 W로 증가함에 따라 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으나 70W에서는 가스의 유량에 따라 상이한 결과를 나타내었다.

Image Enhancement using Statistical Information of Pixel Dynamics (영상화소의 활동도를 이용한 화질 개선)

  • In this paper, we propose the novel approach to enhance the visual quality of the digital image with adaptively sharpening and removing the noise. Image enhancement is performed in two ways. The pixels in the high dynamics area are sharpened by the adaptive unsharp mask with the parameter, which is derived using the statistical information of the image. On the other hand, the proposed algorithm do not perform the sharpening process in the uniform area that may cause the undesired artifact due to noise amplification, rather it performs smoothing to suppress the noise in this area. The decision, which process will be applied at the pixel, is also controlled by the statistics of the pixel dynamics. The proposed algorithm enhances the visual quality almost automatically by sharpening and smoothing at the same time with less parameter selection.

Computer simulation of the effects of anisotropic grain boundary energy on grain growth in 2-D (이방성 결정립 계면에너지의 2차원 결정립 성장에 미치는 효과에 대한 컴퓨터 모사)

  • The grain growth is very important because of its great influence on the various materials properties. Therefore, in this study, the effects of anisotropic grain boundary energy on grain growth in 2-D have been investigated with a large scale phase field simulation model on PC. A $2000{\times}2000$ grid system and the initial number of grains of about 73,000 were used in the computer simulation. The anisotropic ratio of grain boundary energy, ${\sigma}_{max}/{\sigma}_{min}$, has been varied from 1 to 3. As the anisotropy increased, the grain growth exponent, n, increased from 2.05 to 2.37. The grain size distribution showed a central plateau in the isotropic case, and was changed into no central plateau and the increasing population of very small grains in the anisotropic case, resulting from slowly disappearing grains. Finally, simulated microstructures were compared according to anisotropy.

  • Sillicon Wafer는 순도 99.9999999%의 단결정 규소를 사용하여 만들어진다. 웨이퍼의 표면은 결함이나 오염이 없어야 하고 회로의 정밀도에 영향을 미치기 때문에 고도의 평탄도와 정밀도를 요구한다. 특히 실리콘의 순도는 효율성에 영향을 주는 주요 원인으로 금속의 오염은 실리콘 웨이퍼의 수명을 단축시켜 효율성을 떨어뜨린다. 표면에 흡착된 구리와 니켈은 Silicon 오염의 주요인 중 하나로 알려져 있다. 이 연구는 Silicon Wafer 표면에 흡착된 구리가 내부로 확산되는 메커니즘을 규명하는 것을 목표로 한다. 표면에 구리가 흡착된 상태는 AES 및 LEED로 관찰하였다. 표면에 흡착된 구리의 표면(수평)및 내부(수직)확산은 SIMS를 이용하여 연구하였다.

  • KALMER 우라늄 금속핵연료노심의 평형주기에 대하여 주기길이, 농측도, 중식비의 관점에서 설계인자 변경에 따른 변화를 분석하였다. 유효노심높이, 반경방향 블랑캣의 batch수, 개스팽창모듈(GEM)의 적용성, 노용기내핵 연료저장(IVS)의 사용. 핵연료핀의 직경 증가 둥에 대한 설계 변경이 고려되었다. 본 연구결과를 통하여, 평탄화된 출력분포 및 핵연료의 이용도 향상을 기하면서 설계변경이 타 분야에 미치는 영향을 최소화하고 본래 KALMER의 안전성을 유지하고자 핵연료핀의 직경을 증가시킨 fat pellet 설계방안을 채택하였다

A Real Time Deblocking Technique Using Adaptive Filtering in a Mobile Environment (모바일 환경에서 적응적인 필터링을 이용한 실시간 블록현상 제거 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a real time post-processing visual enhancement technique to reduce the blocking artifacts in block based DCT decoded image for mobile devices that have allocation of the restricted resource. In order to reduce the blocking artifacts effectively even while preserving the image edge to the utmost, the proposed algorithm uses the deblocking filtering or the directional filtering according to the edge detection of the each pixel. After it is discriminated that the pixel to apply the deblocking filtering belongs again to the monotonous area, the weighted average filter with the adaptive mask is applied for the pixel to remove the blocking artifacts. On the other hand, a new directional filter is utilized to get rid of staircase noise and preserve the original edge component. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm produces better results than those of the conventional algorithms in both subjective and objective qualities.

A Prediction of Forest Wetlands Distribution using Topographic Position Index (Topographic Position Index를 활용한 산지습지 분포예측)

  • The purpose of this paper was to propose a Topographic Position Index(TPI) method for predicting forest wetlands, and also to test the suitability of the predicted forest wetlands by comparing with the existing wetlands in Ulaju-gun and Gyengsangnam-do. A prediction of the spatial distribution of forest wetlands was accomplished by TPI grids from Digital Elevation Model(DEM), and the classification results of slope position and landform categories in study area using the TPI values. According to the results of predicting forest wetlands distribution by TPI method, the predicted area in case of less than $5^{\circ}$ flat slope criteria occupied 0.1%($1.38km^2$) of the total area, and 3.5%($37.1km^2$) of total area in below $10^{\circ}$ slope criteria. According to the results of the suitability analysis by comparing the predicted area with the existing forest wetlands, the suitability value (0.066) of the predicted area with less than $10^{\circ}$ flat slope criteria was the highest, but the predicted area in case of less than $20^{\circ}$ had the lowest value(0.019).

Gaussian Noise Reduction Algorithm using Self-similarity (자기 유사성을 이용한 가우시안 노이즈 제거 알고리즘)

  • Most of natural images have a special property, what is called self-similarity, which is the basis of fractal image coding. Even though an image has local stationarity in several homogeneous regions, it is generally non-stationarysignal, especially in edge region. This is the main reason that poor results are induced in linear techniques. In order to overcome the difficulty we propose a non-linear technique using self-similarity in the image. In our work, an image is classified into stationary and non-stationary region with respect to sample variance. In case of stationary region, do-noising is performed as simply averaging of its neighborhoods. However, if the region is non-stationary region, stationalization is conducted as make a set of center pixels by similarity matching with respect to bMSE(block Mean Square Error). And then do-nosing is performed by Gaussian weighted averaging of center pixels of similar blocks, because the set of center pixels of similar blocks can be regarded as nearly stationary. The true image value is estimated by weighted average of the elements of the set. The experimental results show that our method has better performance and smaller variance than other methods as estimator.

The Electromagnetic Properties in Uncoupled funnel-junction with Various Cr Seed Layer (비결합형 터널접합구조에서 Cr 하지층에 따른 전자기적 특성변화)

  • Cross-geometrical Cr/Co/Al-Ox/Co/Ni-Fe tunnel junctions were fabricated by magnetron sputtering. To form an insulating layer, The Al layer was oxidized in an atmosphere of oxygen-argon mixture at low power after deposition. To enhance the coercivity of the bottom Co layer, The Cr seed layer was deposited on the glass and it led to increase in coercivity. The coercivity increase is due to the increase of roughness through the Cr thickness. In over oxidation time, the oxidation of Co bottom layer and flat interface of insulator can increase the bottom Co coercivity. But TMR ratio gradually decrease. TMR ratio is relevant with Cr thickness, insulator thickness, and oxidation time. The maximum TMR ratio was 14% at room temperature and the TMR ratio was decreased to half at 0.51 V.
