Analysis of Intersection Signal Violation Accident Using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 이용한 교차로 신호위반 사고 해석)

  • Determining the cause of a traffic signal violation is difficult if the drivers' claims are contradictory. In this study, the process of identifying signal violations using a simulation was presented based on cases. First, statements from the driver or witness whose cause of the signal violation is unclear were excluded. Second, the final position, final location, damaged area, steering status, braking status, and road surface traces of the vehicle were collected. The impact point was investigated from the stop line. Third, simulation data were modified and entered until the collision situation of the accident vehicle and the final stop position were met. Fourth, if the simulation results were consistent with the crash situation, the facts were verified by cross-validation to conform to the driver's statement. The results of the simulation showed that the Lexus entered the left turn signal in the intersection at approximately 55 km/h. In comparison, the Sonata driver saw the vehicle straight ahead at the intersection, entered the 72 km/h intersection, and collided with the Lexus. Therefore, the Sonata was identified as a signal violation, and the claims of the Sonata driver, witnesses, and police were contradictory.

  • Vehicle engineering analysis in the event of an accident caused by a car built on mechanical design has not been investigated in-depth but relies on the subjective experience knowledge of the investigator. This study analyzed the correlation between the speed, progress, steering, and braking before impact, which is consistent with the final stop position, by drawing a site situation chart using the CAD (CAD) program and repeating 250 crashes using the PC-Crash program. The following situations were investigated: lower impact velocity; greater impact speed of the vehicle, which is not affected significantly by the departure angle; higher vehicle speed, such as the effective impact velocity, after the impact; higher vehicle speed; and lower vehicle speed. Please check the changes.)The simulation results of this study identified the process of returning to the magnetic progression lane after recognizing the opposite porter while Mighty was carried out on the uphill left-curve section in a position that crossed the center line, and the collision of the porter's front left side, pushing the porter in the right diagonal direction and making the front stop towards approximately 11 o'clock.

  • When calculating an intersection collision speed using a formula, it is very difficult to grasp the degree of deceleration of a vehicle after the collision unless there is road surface trace in the entire section where each vehicle moved from the point of collision to their final positions after the collision. A vehicle's motion trajectory shows an irregular curve after a collision due to the effects of inertia based on the driving characteristics of the vehicle, the eccentric force according to the collision site, and the collision speed. Therefore, it is very important to set the appropriate departure angle after a collision for accurate collision speed analysis. In this study, based on experimental collision data using a computer simulation (PC-Crash), the correlation between an appropriate vehicle departure angle and the post-collision speed was analyzed, and then, a regression analysis model was derived. Through this, we propose a method to calculate collision speed by applying only the vehicle departure angle in some types of collisions for traffic accidents at intersections.

Study on Temporal Comparison Analysis of Factors to Affect Travel Time Budget: A Case for Seoul (통행시간예산에 미치는 요인의 시계열적 비교·분석 연구: 서울시를 사례로)

  • This study analyzes factors that affect average daily travel time budgets, using the Time Use Survey data from 1999 to 2014 in Seoul. We first developed multivariate regression models for travel time from each year, considering demographic and socio-economic variables as well as non-home activity time. The model results showed that household and personal characteristics and non-home activities significantly affect travel time, and their effects are different over time. In addition, we developed seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) models for time allocation for non-home activity and travel, considering their correlations, and explanatory variables were compared over time. Overall, demographic and socio-economic variables significantly affect travel time as well as non-home activity time.

Instructional Ratings by Professors and College Students (교수와 대학생의 수업평가 결과)

  • We tested the difference and the relationship in instructional ratings by professors and college students. Subjects were 6 professors and 9 college students participated in teaching competition as a rater. They completed instructional rating forms consisted of 10 criteria for 11 participants according to Lickert Scale. Data were analyzed by independent t-test and Pearson correlation. Results were as follows: ① There was no statistical difference in mean scores between the professor and the student; ② Correlation between professors' and students' evaluations was .78 which is statistically meaningful and high. These results support the notion that students evaluate as reliably as professors. They also imply that pre-service college students can be utilized for teaching practice as meaningful peer evaluators. The findings are meaningful in that instructional ratings of instructors and students were compared in a controlled setting. However, replication studies involving wide range of instructors and students are needed for generalization since the subjects in this study were restricted to pre-service teachers and their instructors.

  • The torque of the SRM((Switched Reluctance Motor)) is proportional to the inductance slope, so it has a non-linear torque characteristic, and has a disadvantage in that the torque pulsation is large and noise is severe. In particular, the biggest obstacle to the commercialization of SRM is the pulsating torque generated from the rotating shaft, which has various adverse effects not only on the device itself but also on the peripheral devices. Therefore, various methods for reducing the pulsating torque have been published by domestic and foreign researchers, and there is a study result that the hysteresis controller has an advantage in that it can flow a smooth current compared to the chopping control. However, in determining the hysteresis band, if the band is too small, it has a disadvantage in that it may cause a switching loss due to many switching and an unstable initial start when the encoder is used. Therefore, in this paper, a variable hysteresis controller that can reduce torque ripple in a steady state while having a more stable and fast speed response through the change of the hysteresis band according to the speed error.

Introduction to Image Processing Technology for Precise Positioning of Underground Buried Lifelines (영상정보 기반 지하매설관 정밀 위치조사 기술 소개)

  • Underground lifelines such as water supply/sewer pipe, power cable and gas pipe are indispensable facilities to the life of urban society. These lifelines have been constructed long time ago and buried positioning information is not precisely recorded. Moreover, they have been concentrated on the narrow area and are complicatedly entangled in 3-dimension. In the fourth industrial revolution, a 3-dimensional visualization for underground lifelines is strongly required, and a database (D/B) with precise positioning information should be preceded. In this study, image processing technology for precise positioning of underground buried lifelines is introduced, which is able to build the database more accurately, efficiently and practically.

  • Places exposed to mass media induce behavior by forming curiosity and expectations for potential travelers. The places reported through mass media influence viewers. Among TV programs, the most influential genre is drama, and reality programs that provide immersion with different characteristics from dramas influence viewers' choice of destination. CVM is mainly used for estimating the value of objects that cannot be evaluated in the market, such as tourist destinations. This study conducted an economic valuation of filming locations for dramas and travel entertainment programs using CVM, and then compared and analyzed the research results of the two filming locations. Linear and log logit analysis were performed to measure the willingness to pay for the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program, and the payment amount was derived. The conclusion of the study is that as the travel cost required to visit the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program increased, the intention to visit decreased. The amount payable when visiting the filming location of the drama/travel entertainment program was higher than the average consumption amount for a day trip, and the amount payable for the drama was higher than that of visiting the filming location of the travel entertainment program.

Comparison of Dietary Behaviors of Young and Temporary Workers with Older and Permanent Workers in Single-person Households (비정규직 및 20대 청년 1인가구의 식생활 비교)

  • This study was conducted to compare of dietary behaviors of young and temporary workers with older and permanent workers of single-person households. A questionnaire survey was conducted by purposive quota sampling(n=566) by age groups(20~59 years old) and status of workers(temporary workers, permanent workers and business owners). Compared to other age groups, 20s had lower average monthly income and cost of eating-out, and they rarely cooked at home and mainly bought food and groceries at convenience stores(p<0.001). This pattern was similar to temporary workers compare to other groups. This study will be meaningful as a basic data for creating a healthy living environment for temporary workers and 20s of single-person households.

AI-based Construction Site Prioritization for Safety Inspection Using Big Data (빅데이터를 활용한 AI 기반 우선점검 대상현장 선정 모델)

  • Despite continuous safety management, the death rate of construction workers is not decreasing every year. Accordingly, various studies are in progress to prevent construction site accidents. In this paper, we developed an AI-based priority inspection target selection model that preferentially selects sites are expected to cause construction accidents among construction sites with construction costs of less than 5 billion won (KRW). In particular, Random Forest (90.48 % of accident prediction AUC-ROC) showed the best performance among applied AI algorithms (Classification analysis). The main factors causing construction accidents were construction costs, total number of construction days and the number of construction performance evaluations. In this study an ROI (return of investment) of about 917.7 % can be predicted over 8 years as a result of better efficiency of manual inspections human resource and a preemptive response to construction accidents.
