세포 포집 소자 제작을 위한 펨토초 레이저 미세 가공

  • 최근 세포 포집 소자 제작에 있어 세포의 종류와 크기의 다양성을 고려하여 정확하게 포집하기 위한 고정밀화, 소형화 된 도구 제작 기술 개발이 중요한 현안으로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선행 기술에서의 세포 포집 한계를 극복하기 위한 방안으로 펨토초 레이저 가공을 통한 미세 세포 포집 장치 제작에 관한 실험을 진행하였다. 펨토초 레이저의 짧은 파장의 대역 범위와 전력 특성이 미세 소자 제작을 가능하게 함에 따라 수백, 수천 개의 세포 포집에 있어 보다 안정적이고 신뢰도 높은 포집 장치 구현을 실현시킬 수 있다. 실험에서는 펨토초 레이저의 가공 조건을 가변하며 MEMS 소자에 홀(hole)을 형성시켰다. flatness 200인 Polycarbonate 재질의 기판 위에 CNC공작기계를 사용하여 유로를 제작하고 상부에 젤라틴 코팅 부분 2를 포함한 총 두께 12의 membrane 필름을 부착하였다. 이후 775 nm 파장의 펨토초 레이저를 사용하여 10${\times}$10 개수의 홀을 형성 한 후 홀 주위의 thermal damage와 레이저의 파워에 따른 홀의 형태와 크기 변화를 비교하였다. 실험 결과 membrane 막의 젤라틴 코팅 측면 홀의 평균 직경은 레이저의 파워와 비례하여 증가하였으며, 레이저 파워가 일정한 임계치에 도달하면 특정 시점에서 수렴됨을 확인하였다. 또한 PET 측면의 직경은 서서히 증가하고 빠르게 일정한 값으로 수렴됨을 확인하였다. 본 실험에서는 펨토초 레이저의 특성 파라미터와 레이저의 가공 조건을 수립함으로써 실험에서 사용 된 레이저를 이용한 드릴링 방안을 제시한다.

Analysis of Pressure Fluctuation Properties during the Carbonization of Rice husk in a Fluidized Bed Reactor (유동층반응기에서 압력요동특성치를 이용한 왕겨 탄화반응 해석)

  • 본 연구에서는 유동층반응기를 이용하여 왕겨의 탄화반응을 수행하였다. 탄화반응은 내경 40mm, 높이 1.8m의 유동층을 사용하였으며, 분산판은 다공성 스테인레스스틸을 사용하였다. 탄화반응은 질소를 이용하여 수행하였다. 왕겨 주입입자 크기는 직경 2.0mm, 0.715mm, 0.359mm, 0.194mm를 각각 사용하였으며, 유동층의 온도는 $400^{\circ}C$, $500^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $700^{\circ}C$에서 탄화특성을 측정하였다. 또한 유동층의 매질로는 직경 1.0mm의 Co-Mo-Fe/$Al_2O_3$ 촉매를 사용하였으며, 탄화물은 유동층상부에 설치된 사이크론에 의하여 포집분리되었다. 탄화시 유동층 내부의 현상을 압력요동을 이용하여 해석하였으며, 압력신호로부터 평균압력, 압력요동의 표준편차, 주진동수, power spectrum density function을 계산하여 층내현상을 해석하였다. 층내온도, 유동화속도, 공급 입자크기에 따른 층내현상을 압력요동특성치를 이용하여 해석할 수 있었다.

선형가속기를 이용한 뇌정위 방사선수술시 Isocentric sub system의 기하학적 오차

  • 목적 : 뇌정위 방사선수술은 AVM(ateriovenous malformation)이나 작은 크기의 종양에 1회에 고선량의 방사선을 조사하는 기술이다. 선형가속기를 이용한 방사선 수술을 하기 위하여 최근 본원에 설치한 Philips SL 75-5 선형가속기와 isocentric sub system(ISS)에 의한 뇌정위 방사선 수술에 있어서 표적의 위치선정과, gantry와 couch의 회전시 기하학적 오차가 중요시 되는데 isocentric sub system의 오차를 분석 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 방사선원으로는 Philips SL 75-5 선형가속기의 5MV 광자선을 사용하였고, 원형의 작은 광자선속을 위하여 isocenter에서의 직경이 26mm인 secondary cone을 gimbal baaring에 삽입하여 사용하였다. 표적의 크기와 좌표를 정하기 위하여 CT나 angio localizer를 이용하고, 표적좌표 선정을 위하여 BRW phantom base와 target pointer를 이용하여 임의의 BRW-coordinator를 바꾸어 가면서 gantry angle와 ISS head 각도를 임의로 바꾸어 가면서 film에 방사선을 조사하였다. 흑화된 film을 view box 위에 놓고 광학판독기구로 film 가장자리의 오차를 scale 확대경으로 측정하여 오차를 분석하였다. 결과 : 표적좌표 선정의 정확도를 확인하기 위하여 임의의 표적좌표에 gantry의 10개각도 ISShead의 10개각도에서 각각 광자선을 조사시켜 film을 이용하여 오차를 측정한 결과 collimator cone의 직경이 26mm일때 전체 평균오차가 0.219+-0.03mm이었다. 결론 : Isocentric sub system은 gantry head와 ISS arm 사이에 gimbal bearing이 있어서 이 부위를 flexible하게 연결함으로 gantry의 회전에 무관하게 정확한 isocenter를 유지시켜 주고 ISS head는 couch와 독립되어 움직이므로 isocentric sub system isocenter의 오차를 최대한 줄일수 있음을 알았다.

Numerical Simulation on a Reacting Flow Field with Various Injection conditions (소형가스터빈용 인젝터의 분무 특성에 따른 반응 유동장 전산 해석)

  • This work shows the result of numerical simulation on a reacting flow by varying atomization properties which can be obtained from a injector for a small and low power aircraft gas turbine engine. Because the atomization properties mainly affect on the performance of the engine, a lot of efficiency tests are needed when a new injector is developed. Nowadays researches has been actively performed using computational analysis. Using commercial package CFD-ACE+, basic studies on the reacting flow field have been conducted. Those results show that the reaction rate is increased when higher pressure and wider angle spray condition are used. More smaller parcels can also enhance the fuel-air reaction.

Manufacturing of Three-dimensional Micro Structure Using Proton Beam (양성자 빔을 이용한 3차원 마이크로 구조물 가공)

  • The diameter of a proton beam emanating from the MC-50 cyclotron is about 2-3 mm with Gaussian distribution. This widely irradiated proton beam is not suitable for semiconductor etching, precise positioning, and micromachining, which require a small spot. In this study, a beam cutting method using a microhole is proposed as an economical alternative. We produced a microhole with aspect ratio, average diameter, and thickness of 428, $21{\mu}m$, and 9 mm, respectively, for cutting the proton beam. By using this high-aspect-ratio microhole, we conducted machinability tests on microstructures with sizes of tens of ${\mu}m$. Additionally, the results of simulation using GEANT4 and those of the actual experiment were compared and analyzed. The outcome confirmed the possibility of implementing a micro process technology for the fabrication of three-dimensional microstructures of 20 micron units using the MC-50 cyclotron with the microhole.

Comparative Analyses on Hydraulic Stability Formulae of Riprap (사석의 수리적 안정식의 비교분석)

  • To evaluate the formulae for the stability of riprap, the formulae of Isbash, California division of highway, Netherlands, ASCE, Pilarczk, and Maynord are comparatively analysed with the experimental results. The critical velocity which initiates the motion of riprap is increased with the weight and the size in diameter and the riprap size with water depth, Froude number, shear velocity with mean velocity, Shields parameter have great correlation with them. The results by 6 formulae are overestimated in riprap size in diameter and the result by Maynord formula proposed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimates rather correct. The results by Isbash, Netherlands, and Pilarczk are overestimated in riprap weight but the result by California division of highway formula coincides with experimental result. In the experimental results of model riprap artificially made by gypsum with light weight density, the critical velocity is increased with shape factors. The critical velocity appears greater in regular arrangement of model riprap than in random arrangement of it. Therefore the shape factor and the degree of interlocking are an important parameters in riprap stability.

A Study of Spray Characteristic with Orifice Diameter for Single Column Rotating Fuel Nozzle (단열식 회전연료 노즐의 오리피스 직경에 따른 분무특성 연구)

  • In the micro turbojet engine less than 350kw power class, it is not easy to find out the good atomization fuel injector with good spray quality. However conceptually, rotating fuel injection system can give high atomization quality by only the centrifugal force of a high speed rotating shaft of the engine without high-pressure fuel pump. With this motivation, we manufactured very small rotating fuel injector of 40 mm diameter and performed under a variety of injection orifices. We measured droplet size, velocity and spray distribution by the PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) system. Also spray was visualized by using high speed camera. From the test results, we could understand that the length of liquid column from the injection orifice is mainly controlled by the rotational speeds. Furthermore, droplet size(SMD) is decreased with the rotational speeds and is influenced by the diameter of the injection orifice and liquid film thickness.

Fabrication of Cu Flakes by Ball Milling of Sub-micrometer Spherical Cu Particles (서브 마이크론급 구형 동분말의 볼 밀링을 통한 플레이크 동분말의 제조)

  • As a preceding process for preparing several micrometer sized Ag-coated Cu flakes, ball milling of submicrometer-sized Cu particles synthesized through a wet chemical method was performed in order to convert the particles into flakes. To suppress oxidation and aggregation of the particles during ball milling, ethylene glycol and ethyl acetate were used as a medium and a surface modifying agent, respectively. Results obtained with different rotation speeds of a jar indicated that the rotation speed changes a rotating mode, and strikingly alters the final shapes and shape uniformity of Cu particles after milling. The diameter of zirconia ball was also confirmed. Although there was aggregates in the initial submicrometer-sized Cu particles, therefore, well-dispersed Cu flakes with a size of several micrometers were successfully prepared by ball milling through optimization of rotation speed, amount of ethyl acetate, and diameter of zirconia ball.

Fabrication of All-fiber 7x1 Pump Combiner Based on a Fiber Chip for High Power Fiber Lasers (고출력 광섬유 레이저를 위한 광섬유 칩 기반 All-fiber 7x1 펌프 광 결합기 제작)

  • In this paper, we report measured results for an all-fiber $7{\times}1$ pump combiner based on an optical fiber chip for high-power fiber lasers. An optical-fiber chip was fabricated by etching a fiber, having core and cladding diameters of 20 and $400{\mu}m$, in the longitudinal direction. To both ends of the etched chip, we spliced input and output fibers. First, we tied together seven optical fibers, having core and cladding diameters of 105 and $125{\mu}m$ respectively, in a cylindrical bundle and spliced them to the $375-{\mu}m$ end of the optical-fiber chip. Then, we attached an output DCF with core and cladding diameters of 25 and $250{\mu}m$ to the $250-{\mu}m$ end of the optical-fiber chip. Finally, the fabricated $7{\times}1$ pump combiner showed an average optical coupling efficiency of about 90.2% per port. This chip-based pump combiner may replace conventional pump combiners by massive production of fiber chips.

Growth and Heritability of Hinoki Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa) Families in Jeju (제주지역에 도입된 편백의 가계별 생장특성과 유전력 구명)

  • This research was performed to analyze growth performance and pattern of eighteen families of hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa), which were imported in Jeju region. The growths of 'Yako-7', 'Muei-1', and 'Sangsong-9' families were superior to other families whereas those of 'Sanguen-3', 'Yago-6', and 'Hyena-2' families were poor. The height growth between age 9-year to 15-year was superior to those between other ages. No specific growth pattern was observed in the diameter at breast height (DBH) by ages. Family heritability of height, DBH, and volume were estimated at 0.68, 0.75, and 0.75, respectively. Pearson's correlation analysis showed that there was little juvenile-mature correlation in the growth of C. obtusa.
