  • Northeast Asia accounts for half of the world game market, worth $ 152.1 billion, and has abundant growth potential. Early e-sports in Korea could be formed through the distribution of affects of active participation of gamers and fans. Since then, the establishment of a corporate team has continued, securing stability as an industry. However, mediation rights, intellectual property disputes, and game manipulations continue, leading to a massive escaped of early fandom and the collapse of StarCraft-based ecosystems.

For this study, a survey was conducted to Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Korea where BTS is popular. The results of this study show that Vietnam and Thailand have the most positive perceptions of most of the BTS preferences, and the factors affecting the highest quality were analyzed by the differentiating sense of BTS. BTS' preference is an independent variable consisting of five factors: singers and music, a discriminative sense, global communication, meditative lyrics and Korean sentiment. And it has been shown to have a statistically significant influence on both the fandom star and the fan community at a high level. In particular, the Identification desire for fandom star shows that the discriminative sense and meditative lyrics affect the positive at a high level. Also, the identification desire for the fan community's found that the attraction of singers and music affects the highest level of affection. This study was extended to Southeast Asian and Korean fans through a wide range of survey participants, and it is meaningful that a new perspective on the BTS preference was available. Nonetheless, Failure to take into account the various variables that may affect the fandom effect and the intent to purchase, and the lack of a survey of fans in the U.S. and Europe, which has more fans worldwide, could be a limitation of the study.

  • Since 2009, stars produced through audition programs have appeared through the process of establishing familiar ties with viewers, unlike stars created by entertainment agencies. This study is a case study that examines the characteristics, roles, and identity of internet live broadcasts (Labang) of vocalists Kang Dong-hoon and his fan cafe(fan community) who appeared in JTBC Phantom Singer 3 in 2020. As a result of the study, fans gathered around SNS even before the fan cafe was created, at their request, 'Labang' began. "Labang" is a "freely participating talk show" in which fans actively participate. This brought about the bond of fans, a sense of belonging, and the activation of fandom. Both stars and fans recognized "Live Broadcast" as "a window of communication to get to know each other," and expressed satisfaction that they could see the sincerity of familiar and unpretentious stars, not unrealistic images reproduced on TV through "immediate comment communication." "Labang" consists of a variety of contents, including stars' daily lives, music activities, broadcast appearances, and hobbies, and is showing "aesthetic differentiation" from those who do not watch "Labang" while sharing the daily lives of stars and fans with active participation.

  • This study empirically analyzes the effect of a sports club's performance and social media operations on online information search volume, reflecting fan engagement. Additionally, it confirms that such effect can vary depending on the issuance of sports fan tokens. The analysis of the data resulted in the support of all four hypotheses presented in this study. The team's goal differentials during the games exhibited a significant and positive effect on the online information search volume by fans. Furthermore, the quantity of a team's social media posts also showed a significant and positive effect on the online information search volume. The aforementioned effects of the team's game-related performance and social media activity on the online information search volume appeared to be strengthened when the sports fan tokens of the team were issued. This study conducts an empirical analysis of fan engagement in sports clubs and delves into the marketing dimensions of sports fan tokens. By doing so, it broadens the research scope within sports marketing and offers practical insights for the development of marketing strategies by sports clubs.

  • This thesis examines the 'universe' acceptance phenomenon, currently used as a content strategy in the K-pop field, from the perspective of K-pop audiences, and then attempts to identify their experience of acceptance and the meaning of the universe. For this, tweets related to the universe acceptance experience of Aespa, the group utilizing the universe as a content strategy the most actively, were collected, and this data was analyzed according to a phenomenological approach, an approach to explore the structure of personal experience and the essence of a phenomenon. As a result of analyzing using Moustakas' method, the semantic structure of the universe acceptance phenomenon of K-pop audiences was derived based on 21 thematic units. It was found that current K-pop audiences are experiencing active cultural consumption rather than unilateral or passive through acceptance of the universe. This means that K-pop audiences have the characteristics of active audiences that produce meaning, interact with other fans, and exert influence on outside of community. At the same time, these characteristics affect acceptance of the universe. Simultaneously, through active acceptance experience, it is found that K-pop audiences give a new meaning in the K-pop universe, as "marketing assets", "fandom community assets", and "K-pop industry expansion assets." Among them, the recognition of 'marketing assets' was reaffirmed as a basis for supporting related previous studies. In addition, it derived the new values of the universe in the K-pop field by discovering the meaning of "fandom's specific assets" and "assets of the K-pop industry for expansion". These meanings had not been found that previous studies from the producers' point of view. And then, for the purpose of expanding the value of the universe in the future, it was discussed the direction of the new meaning of the universe. Finally, this study is meaningful in that it revealed the semantic structure of the universe acceptance phenomenon and discovered a new meaning of the universe in the K-pop field. Additionally, it was intended to contribute to expanding the field of research by suggesting various follow-up studies from various perspectives.
