Analysis methods performed frequency analysis, crosstabulation, and multiple regression analysis, with p = .05 at the significance level for all validations. The statistically significant differences among the baby boomer generation were education level, marriage status, health insurence, household income, drinking, smoking, subjective health, outpatient care, and inpatient care. The average number of illnesses in the baby boomer generation was 8.14, of which 7.97 for male and 7.97 for female. • This study concerns whether the public spirit of medical services, which is the foundational goal of national hospitals, is being realized. To derive results regarding this question, it is necessary to identify the determinants that influence the choice of national hospitals. The data are based on the number of cases of medical service use among the data for 6 years from 2008 to 2013 in the Korea Medical Panel, and the subjects were limited to those who were 18 years old or older. In the final analysis, 14,365 cases of hospitalization service uses were employed. For the research method, Andersen's behavioral model theory was applied, and predisposing, enabling, and individual factors were determined to be variables. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the determinants of national hospital choice factors. It was found that the rate of use of national hospitals was very low, with 5.23% for hospitalization services. Furthermore, socioeconomically vulnerable people, such as the elderly, low-income people, the national meritorious and medical care beneficiaries, chronic patients, and disabled patients are more likely to choose national hospitals than private hospitals. Therefore, for the appropriate management of medical service use for low-income vulnerable groups, it is necessary to discuss the enhancement of primary medical care in national healthcare.

  • This study is a data analysis study to identify the factors influencing the prevalence and risk factors for falls of older adults with dementia in Korea. Using the data of the 7th Aging Research Panel in 2018, 119 people were enrolled. We used response data on the dementia-related factors that is the duration of dementia and whether or not activity of daily living was restricted due to dementia. For comorbid diseases, data on hypertension, diabetes, and obesity were used. For statistical analysis of the collected data, logistic regression analysis was performed using SPSS statistics 22.0. Dementia-related factors and comorbidities of the analyzed subjects had a significant effect on the falling index. In particular, it was found that the influence was greatest in the order of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, daily life restrictions due to dementia, and the duration of dementia. This study is meant to identify factors that should be prioritized in the composition of a fall prevention program for the elderly with dementia. Based on the findings of this study, strategies for preventing falls due to the duration of dementia and limiting daily life, intensive management of high-risk groups for falls due to comorbid diseases, and training in the use of safety aids such as walking aids will be required in the care of the elderly with dementia,

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of social participation types on cognitive impairment degree(normal, mild, severe cognitive function) by urban and rural difference. The research was performed by multinomial logistic regression with the data of elderly 5,668 over 55 years of age from the sixth wave(2016) and the seventh wave(2018) of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing. Results show that social participation reduces the risk of cognitive impairment on both urban and rural older adults regardless of types, but the types of social participation, which are effective to reduce the risk of cognitive impairment, are different between urban and rural area. According to residential area, types of social participation, which are effective to decline the risk of being mild or severe cognitive impairment and the risk of being severe cognitive impairment relative to mild, are different. These findings suggest that, in order to prevent cognitive impairment and reduce the severity, social participation is strongly recommended and appropriate supports are required. This implies policy and intervention efforts considering the urban and rural difference are needed.

  • This study applied the data of 384 senior citizens over 65 years old having difficulties in everyday life, among the ageing research panel of Korea Labor Institute in 2000, due to their visual impairment in the final analysis to investigate factors affecting the use of vision aids by the aged with visual impairment. The analysis was based on the service usage Andersen-Newman model and the factors were classified into preceding factors, potential factors and desire factors. To examine the effects of each factors on the use of vision aids by the aged with visual impairment, logistic regression analysis was carried out. In the analysis results, the level of vision aids usage was shown to increase significantly with unemployed status and higher education level in the preceding factors, lower subjective stratum consciousness in the potential factors, and higher cognitive function in the desire factors. The limitation and implication of this study were suggested on the basis of the results.

  • This study is an analysis of the factors affecting the re-employment will and re-employment of the elderly workers, using the aging pannel(KLoSA). As a results of the analysis, re-employment will of high school graduates is higher than that of college graduates, but re-employment possibility is lower. This is somewhat contradictory results with other studies. This seems to be influenced by a large number of highly educated baby boomers' retire. 50s' re-employment will was lower than 60s'. As job factors, employed period and scale has a positive effect. In contrast, type of industry, job haven't. In order to induce the re-employment of the elderly, inhibiting expansion of self-employment, job creation, irregular and minimum wage system improvements, Customized services are needed.

  • In order to understand those factors to influence the hearing-impaired in connection with their using hearing aids, this study analyzed a total of 521 hearing-impaired people examined by a fourth-year Korea panel survey of employment for the disabled. For the analysis, the study, first, used Andersen-Newman service use model to categorize any influential factors into precedence factors, possibility factors and desire factors, and second, in order to look into how these factors would work on the hearing-impaired's using the hearing aids, the study conducted the logistic regression analysis. According to the results of the analysis, in terms of the precedence factors, when the hearing-impaired people are older and more highly-educated, they would be happier to use the hearing aids while when it comes to the possibility factors, when the gross income of these people is lower but when they are more willing to accept the fact that they have a disability, they would have a fewer problems with using the hearing aids. In addition, regarding the desire factors, when the hearing-impaired people can hear relatively better than the other hearing-impaired, they would be more significantly willing to use the hearing aids. In the light of what has been learned, the study discussed the limits of its research and proposed implications.

  • This study is a second analysis of the 7th Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families. And, it is a descriptive survey research for comparing parental and health characteristics of 2 groups of workers and non-workers. For this, it has used crossover analysis and logistic regression analysis with the subjects of mothers of preschoolers - of 697 females in total, aged between 19 and 64. Based on the result of the logistic regression analysis, we have discovered a few factors inducing the females to participate in more economic activities. The factors are as follows : baby sitters available, the more number of child care centers, the more helps of baby sitting from the females' parents and in-law parents and physical activities less than 3 times a week. In contrast, however, the more preschoolers they have, the less likely they are to take an active part in the economy. Against the backdrop, the government should develop social service systems to encourage various child care services and to foster 'child raising mothers-friendly' environments not only in families but in workplaces. All this is to improve the health characteristics of preschoolers' mothers in a more healthy way' and to strike a balance between work and family.
