The Effect of Empowering Leadership on Work Engagement and Job Performance through Employees' Self-Efficacy and Belonging (임파워링 리더십이 구성원의 자기효능감과 소속감, 그리고 직무열의와 직무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The importance of empowering leadership has emerged, which inspires confidence and attachment to members' task capabilities through delegation of authority between leaders and members. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of empowering leadership on work engagement and job performance through self-efficacy and sense of belonging in construction companies. Hypothesis testing of 271 copies of the questionnaire from Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam areas was conducted using the structural equation model. First, in the order of information sharing and participatory decision-making, there was a significant positive effect on self-efficacy, whereas the lead and coaching factors were not significant. Second, it was shown that all 4 factors of empowering leadership had a significant positive effect on belonging. Third, the sense of self-efficacy and belonging had a significant positive effect on both work engagement and job performance.

  • This study, as a experiment study, was intended to determine whether or not the situational leadership program was highly helpful to critical thinking, coaching, empowerment-enhancing of nurse managers. The number of subjects was abstracted by G*Power, and 54 nurses leader and 342 general nurses were selected from university hospitals of metropolitan city. Data analysis was frequency analysis, t-test, $X^2$-test, repeated measures ANOVA, using SPSS Win 18.0 statistical package program. The results of this study was as follows. 1. Due to the situation leadership programs, critical thinking of experiment group has significantly increased, but control group was significantly reduced. 2. Due to the situation leadership programs, coaching of experiment group has significantly increased, but control group was significantly reduced. 3. Due to the situation leadership programs, empowerment of experiment group has significantly increased, but control group was significantly reduced. Therefore, the situation leadership programs can be effective in critical thinking, coaching, empowerment of nurse leaders. And applying the situation leadership program to the nurse in future, it would be helpful promoting empowerment, coaching, critical thinking in organization life and cope with situation that occurred during clinical.

Structural relationship among servant leadership, empowerment and sports satisfaction of badminton coaches (배드민턴 지도자의 서번트 리더십과 임파워먼트 및 운동만족의 구조관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship among servant leadership, empowerment and sports satisfaction of badminton coaches by self-leadership. Among national badminton players, total 343 copies of data were collected and used at the study by using of random sampling. The normal distribution on data and the validity and reliability for each factors were proven to confirm through descriptive statistics, exploratory & confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 program. The relationship among each factors by the purpose of study were analyzed by correlation analysis and structural model analysis. The results were as follows. First, the servant leadership of badminton coaches had positive effect on empowerment. Second, the servant leadership of badminton coaches had positive effect on self-leadership. Third, the servant leadership of badminton coaches had positive effect on sports satisfaction. Fourth, empowerment had positive effect on sports satisfaction. Fifth, self-leadership had positive effect on sports satisfaction. Sixth, for the relationship between servant leadership and sports satisfaction, empowerment and self-leadership had indirect effects.

The Impact of Entrepreneurial Leadership on Individual Creativity: Moderating Role of Innovation Climate and Mediating Role of Psychological Empowerment (기업가적 리더십이 조직 구성원의 창의성에 미치는 영향: 혁신 분위기의 조절효과 및 심리적 임파워먼트의 매개효과)

  • Previous literatures have provided growing evidence regarding the impact of leadership in enhancing follower creativity. Despite these ample evidences, a noticeable omission in this body of study is entrepreneurial leadership. The present study extends leadership·creativity research by developing a mediation-moderation model and investigating the key roles that innovation climate and psychological empowerment may play in the mechanism between entrepreneurial leadership and followers' individual creativity. Using a data of 161 SME's members, the results show that: (a) followers' psychological empowerment positively mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and individual creativity; (b) the impact of entrepreneurial leadership on followers' psychological empowerment through innovation climate is high (in other words, innovation climate positively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and followers' psychological empowerment). This study gain more comprehensive insight of individual creativity and leader's entrepreneurial leadership, to foster more creative venture organizations. The findings of this study make several important implications to present venture·leadership·creativity knowledge. Future studies should examine a broad range of mediating or moderating processes through which context for innovation effects positively on individual creativity. Therefore, additional study is needed to test if the results of this research can be generalized across industry·firm types.

The Effect of Empowering Leadership on Leader-Member Exchange, Leader Trust and In-role Behavior (임파워링 리더십이 리더-구성원 교환관계, 리더신뢰 및 역할 내 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we examined the impact of empowering leadership on leader-member exchange(LMX), leader trust, and in-role behavior. The role of LMX and leader trust in the relationship between empowering leadership and in-role behavior was verified. We surveyed 289 small and medium enterprises in Yangsan, Ulsan and Gyeongju city. SPSS 18.0 was used for overall descriptive statistics and exploratory factor analysis. AMOS 18.0 was used to conduct confirmatory factor analysis to confirm the validity of the research variables and to conduct a covariance structure analysis to verify the research hypothesis. The result of this study were as follows. First, empowering leadership has a significant effect on LMX, leader trust. Second, empowering leadership did not have a significant effect on in-role behavior. Third, LMX has a significant effect on leader trust and in-role behavior. Fourth, leader trust has a significant influence onin-role behavior. Finally, LMX and leader trust play a mediating role in the relationship between empowering leadership and in-role behavior. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the LMX and leader trust should be strengthened through the leader's empowering leadership in order to enhance the employee's in-role behavior.

  • 리더십에 관한 연구는 리더십 특성요인연구, 리더십 contingency 연구, 특성이론적 접근, 행동적 접근, 상황이론적 접근 등이 있으나, 이러한 접근방법이 언제나 긍정적인 리더십을 유발하는 것은 아닌 것으로 나타나고 있다. 따라서, 긍정적이고 일관된 리더십을 만들어 내기 위해서는 리더십에 대한 새로운 접근이 요청된다. 리더십에 대한 연구는 매우 다양하게 나타나고 있으나, 문헌연구에서 볼 때 리더십은 파워라는 공통 요소를 가지고 있다. 파워는 사람으로 하여금 목적지향적인 행동을 유발하는 능력이며, 문헌에 나타난 리더십의 개념은 조직구성원으로 하여금 목적지향적인 행동을 하게하는 능력이다. 따라서, 리더십은 권력의 한 유형으로 볼 수 있다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 리더십을 power process에 기초한 권력순환적 관점에서 연구하고자 한다. Power process는 권력요소, 가치, 욕구, 환경, 관계의 다섯 가지 권력결정요소들의 상호작용 과정이다. 이러한 상호작용을 통해서 power process는 권력의 원천을 창출하는데 이 원천에 의한 권력행사는 긍정적인 결과를 유발한다(이경환, 2001). 앞에서 지적한 바와 같이 리더십은 권력의 한 유형이므로, power process에 의한 리더십 행사를 실증연구를 함으로서 지식경영시스템 구축을 위한 요인을 제시하고자 한다. 본 실증적 연구에서 리더는 자신의 권력요소(타고난 능력, 소질, 경험 등=경영자특성)와 욕구, 가치(경영철학) 관계성 및 환경과 같은 파워결정요소(리더십 결정요소)의 상호작용을 통해 자신의 리더십 원천을 창출할 때 즉, power process를 통해 리더십을 행사할 때 이러한 리더십은 경영성과에 긍정적인 결과를 유발하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로, 리더십 성과 향상을 위한 지식경영정보시스템은 파워결정요소적 측면에서 고려되어야 할 것이다. 모델과 독립성 모델에서는 시스템 등급에 영향을 준다. 향후에는 더욱 더 다양한 상호의존 모델들이 정량화될 필요성이 있다고 본다. 진행하였다. 줄여서 보다 더 정확하고, 지능적인 규칙구성요소 추출 방법론을 제시하고 구현하여 지식관리자의 규칙습득에 대한 부담을 줄여 주고자 한다. 도움을 받을 수 있게 되었다.을 거치도록 되어있다. 교통주제도는 국가의 교통정책결정과 관련분야의 기초자료로서 다양하게 활용되고 있으며, 특히 ITS 노드/링크 기본지도로 활용되는 등 교통 분야의 중요한 지리정보로서 구축되고 있다..20{\pm}0.37L$, 72시간에 $1.33{\pm}0.33L$로 유의한 차이를 보였으므로(F=6.153, P=0.004), 술 후 폐환기능 회복에 효과가 있다. 4) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 노력성 폐활량은 수술 후 72시간에서 실험군이 $1.90{\pm}0.61L$, 대조군이 $1.51{\pm}0.38L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.620, P=0.013). 5) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 일초 노력성 호기량은 수술 후 24시간에서 $1.33{\pm}0.56L,\;1.00{\ge}0.28L$로 유의한 차이를 보였고(t=2.530, P=0.017), 술 후 72시간에서 $1.72{\pm}0.65L,\;1.33{\pm}0.3L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.540, P=0.016). 6) 대상자의 술 후 폐환기능에 영향을 미치는 요인은 성별로 나타났다. 이에 따른 폐환기능의 차이를 보면, 실험군의 술 후 노력성 폐활량이 48시간에 남자($1.78{\pm}0.61L$)가 여자($1.27{\pm}0.45L$)보다 더 높게 나타났으며 (t=2.170, P=0.042),

Moderating effects of psychological Empowerment in the Relationships between Leadership Competency and Job Performance (리더의 리더십 역량이 직무성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 심리적 임파워먼트의 조절효과)

  • The goals of this study are to identify perceived leadership competency effects on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and to verify the moderating effects of psychological empowerment in the relationships between leadership competency and job performance through empirical survey. To achieve the goals, 331 questionnaires were analyzed with spss 18.0. The results of the survey can be summarized as follows. Leadership competency has positive effect on impact, self-efficacy, self-determination, meaning, which are subdivision of psychol. The goals of this study are to identify perceived leadership competency effects on psychological empowerment, and the higher leadership competency is perceived, the more positive effect it has on job performance. In the survey on the effectiveness of empowerment on job performance, it has partial positive effect. The hypothesis that empowerment moderates the relationships between leadership competency and job satisfaction was not accepted, between leadership competency and organizational commitment was partly accepted This study provides academic and practical implications by investigating modulating factors of leader's competency and effects of psychological empowerment the different level.

Effects of Collective Leadership on Follower's Work Engagement: Examining the role of Psychological Empowerment and Self-efficacy (집합적 리더십이 구성원의 직무열의에 미치는 영향 : 심리적 임파워먼트의 매개효과와 자기효능감의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between collective leadership and employee's work engagement and psychological empowerment. This study tested the impact of collective leadership on employee's work engagement and the mediating role of psychological empowerment between the two variables. And also, this study tested moderating role of self-efficacy between psychological empowerment and work engagement. A total of 237 employees in 7 companies in South Korea participated in this study. The SPSS 21.0 and M-Plus6 statistical programs were used in this study to analyze and statistically process the collected survey data. The result showed that collective leadership positively influence employee's work engagement and psychological empowerment works as mediator in the relationship between collective leadership and employee's work engagement. This results means that collective leadership is a crucial factor to facilitate employee's psychological empowerment toward employee's work engagement. Self-efficacy had moderating effect between psychological empowerment and work engagement. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the study results have been discussed along with limitations and future direction of the study.

  • The purpose of this paper is that analyze the influence of empowering leadership and constituent individual of organization's creativity and the moderating effect of leader-member exchange. For the verify the variables relationship, we perform the hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, empowering leadership positively effect creativity when appear the leader's leading by example, coaching, informing and showing concerning. And also, we are confirm the moderating effect LMX. To conclude, Empowering leadership influence positive and negative effect to creativity by the sense of the affect, the loyalty, the contribution, professional respect.

  • This study aims to increase effectiveness of human resources management of food service industry by identifying relationships if influence among leadership of manager supervisor, employee' empowerment and organizational effectiveness in food service industry. To achieve the purpose of this study, documentary study and empirical study using a structural equation model analysis was conducted. Based upon the relationships among leadership, empowerment and organizational effectiveness in food service industry, comprehensive methods for human resources management can be presented.
