Application of Common Random Numbers in Simulation Experiments Using Central Composite Design (중심합성계획 시뮬레이션 실험에서 공통난수의 활용)

  • The central composite design (CCD) is often used to estimate the second-order linear model. This paper uses a correlation induction strategy of common random numbers (CRN) in simulation experiment and utilizes the induced correlations to obtain better estimates for the second-order linear model. This strategy assigns the CRN to all design points in the CCD. An appropriate selection of the axial points in CCD makes the weighted least squares (WLS) estimator be equivalent to ordinary least squares (OLS) estimator in estimating the linear model parameters of CCD. We analytically investigate the efficiency of this strategy in estimation of model parameters. Under certain conditions, this correlation induction strategy yields better results than independent random number strategy in estimating model parameters except intercept. The simulation experiment on a selected model supports such results. We expect a suggested random number assignment is useful in application of CCD in simulation experiments.

Inverse Estimation of Fatigue Life Parameters of Springs Based on the Bayesian Approach (베이지안 접근법을 이용한 스프링 피로 수명 파라미터의 역 추정)

  • In this study, a procedure for the inverse estimation of the fatigue life parameters of springs which utilize the field fatigue life test data is proposed to replace real test with the FEA on fatigue life prediction. The Bayesian approach is employed, in which the posterior distributions of the parameters are determined conditional on the accumulated life data that are routinely obtained from the regular tests. In order to obtain the accurate samples from the distributions, the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique is employed. The distributions of the parameters are used in the FEA for predicting the fatigue life in the form of a predictive interval. The results show that the actual fatigue life data are found well within the posterior predictive distributions.

Estimation of Global Image Fusion Parameters for KOMPSAT-3A: Application to Korean Peninsula (아리랑 3A호의 글로벌 융합 파라미터 추정방법: 한반도 영역을 대상으로)

  • In this study, we tried to analyze the fusion parameters required to produce a high-resolution multispectral image using an image fusion technique and to suggest global fusion parameters. We analyzed the linear regression coefficients that can simulate the panchromatic image, and the fusion coefficients required for producing the fusion image. When the fusion images were produced using the representative fusion parameters, it was confirmed that the difference in DN value between each fusion image was quantitatively smaller than when the optimal fusion parameters were used. Therefore, this study can minimize the regional characteristics reflected in the fused image.

A Study on Optimal fuzzy Systems by Means of Hybrid Identification Algorithm (하이브리드 동정 알고리즘에 의한 최적 퍼지 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • The optimal identification algorithm of fuzzy systems is presented for rule-based fuzzy modeling of nonlinear complex systems. Nonlinear systems are expressed using the identification of structure such as input variables and fuzzy input subspaces, and parameters of a fuzzy model. In this paper, the rule-based fuzzy modeling implements system structure and parameter identification using the fuzzy inference methods and hybrid structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems. Two types of inference methods of a fuzzy model are the simplified inference and linear inference. The proposed hybrid optimal identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Here, a genetic algorithm is utilized for determining initial parameters of membership function of premise fuzzy rules, and the improved complex method which is a powerful auto-tuning algorithm is carried out to obtain fine parameters of membership function. Accordingly, in order to optimize fuzzy model, we use the optimal algorithm with a hybrid type for the identification of premise parameters and standard least square method for the identification of consequence parameters of a fuzzy model. Also, an aggregate performance index with weighting factor is proposed to achieve a balance between performance results of fuzzy model produced for the training and testing data. Two numerical examples are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed model.

  • Dynamic parameters such as natural frequencies can provide global stiffness information of a structure, and thus be utilized in monitoring structural integrity of large structures such as a containment. To identify the dynamic parameters without interrupting normal operation, a modal analysis method based on ambient vibration measurements should be applied. In this study, dynamic parameters of the containment of Wolsong Unit 2 are identified using ambient vibration measurement data. The feasibility of the study is verified using a numerical model for the containment. From the modal analysis, dynamic parameters of the containment with acceptable correlation to analytical modes can be estimated.

  • In this paper, we propose a blind watermarking algorithm of 3d mesh model using spherical parameterization. Spherical parameterization is a useful method which is applicable to 3D data processing. Especially, orthogonal coordinate can not analyse the feature of the vertex coordination of the 3D mesh model, but this is possible to analyse and process. In this paper, the centroid center of the 3D model was set to the origin of the spherical coordinate, the orthogonal coordinate system was transformed to the spherical coordinate system, and then the spherical parameterization was applied. The watermark was embedded via addition/modification of the vertex after the feature analysis of the geometrical information and topological information. This algorithm is robust against to the typical geometrical attacks such as translation, scaling and rotation. It is also robust to the mesh reordering, file format change, mesh simplification, and smoothing. In this case, the this algorithm can extract the watermark information about $90{\sim}98%$ from the attacked model. This means it can be applicable to the game, virtual reality and rapid prototyping fields.

  • 부하 모델링이 전력계통의 해석과 제어에 미치는 영향력은 매우 크다. 정확한 부하모델링을 위해 최근에는 측정기반의 부하 모델링이 많이 연구되고 있다. 부하모델링 알고리즘은 먼저 모델의 구조를 정하고, 그 모델에 적합한 파라미터를 산정하는 작업으로 이루어진다. 파라미터 산정에는 최소자승법이 사용되었다. 이 최적화 과정에서 알고리즘을 통해 나온 계산값과 측정값의 차이가 최소가 되도록 파라미터를 산정하였다. 슬라이딩 윈도우(sliding window)의 개념을 도입해, 실시간으로 변화하는 부하의 동특성을 반영할 수 있는 온라인 부하모델링을 수행하였다. 실측 데이터의 취득을 위해 학교 부하에 PMU를 설치하였다. 본 논문에서는 사례 연구를 위해 실시간 시뮬레이터의 데이터를 이용하였고, 정적 ZIP 모델을 통해 알고리즘의 정확성을 검토하였다.

  • 통계적 공정관리 분야가 점차 컴퓨터를 이용한 관리를 하게 되므로써 공정관리의 온라인화, 실시간화가 되고 있는 가운데, 기존의 관리도는 공정의 파라미터를 기지의 상수값으로 간주하므로 모형이 잘못 설정되었을 경우 상당히 많은 오보(false alarm)를 발생하게 된다. 이에 본 연구는 연속생산공정에서, 칼만필터를 적용하여 공정의 불확실한 파라미터와 모형의 오차에도 불구하고 공정의 변화를 보다 빠르고 정확하게 탐지할 수 있는 관리도를 설계하였다. 본 연구에서 설계한 관리도는 관축치들간에 시간적 종속성이 존재하는 경우에 있어서, 관측치들을 시계열모형으로 묘사를 하여, 파라미터(parameter)를 추정하고, 잔차를 얻어서 만든 잔차관리도로서, 실시간으로 생산공정을 관리하는 경우 효과적임을 보이기 위하여, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 ARL을 구하여 기존에 사용되고 있는 관리도와 수행도를 비교.평가하였다.

A Study on the Performance Improvement of TCP using ABR/UBR Services (ABR/UBR 서비스를 이용한 TCP 성능개선에 관한 연구)

  • ATM network technology is generally used for the integration of multimedia services in high-speed Internet. ABR (Available Bit Rate) and UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) service classes have been developed specifically to support data application. In this paper, through the result of simulation, we analyzed the effect of TCP data transmission performance by using FRR (Fast Retransmission and Recovery) and Nagle's Algorithm on the UBR service, and by adjusting EFCI switch parameter on the ABR service. As a result of our study, performance improvement of TCP over ATM network is observed by adjusting TCP parameters and setting of effective switch parameter.

  • 본 연구에서 구현하고자 하는 선박의 회두각 제어의 경우 파도, 바람, 조류 등의 외란의 영향을 많이 받고 있을 뿐만 아니라 그 운동 특성 역시 비선형이므로 적절한 파라미터의 선정과 제어기 구성에 어려움이 따른다. 이의 해결을 위해 K. M Passino 등에 의해 비선형 특성을 지닌 기준 모델 적응 퍼지 알고리즘을 적용하여 제어기 구성을 시도한바 있고, 국내에서도 김종화 등에 의해 유사한 방법이 시도되어졌다. 본 연구에서는 이상의 시도에서 기준 모델에 의한 제어기 파라미터의 동정의 방법으로 사용한 M.I.T 룰 대신 일반적인 유전 알고리즘에 의해 퍼지 제어기의 파라미터를 동정하고자 한다. 유전 알고리즘에 기반한 기준 모델 적응 퍼지 제어기(MRGAFC: Model Reference Genetic Adaptive Fuzzy Controller) 알고리즘을 제안하며, 이의 검증을 위하여 화물선 회두각의 조향문제에 이를 적용하여 종래의 방법들과 비교를 수행할 것이다.
