  • Recently, collaborations through MCS use in team projects are frequently conducted. This study developed a research model to examine the impact of collaboration through MCS on project performance. Team commitment and team trust regarded as the key drivers of enhancing project performance. Moreover, we also investigated the effect of usefulness of MCS on project performance. We posit ubiquity, polychronic use, and ease of use as the key antecedents of usefulness of MCS. The proposed theoretical framework was tested by using survey data collected from 116 university students who have rich experience with collaboration through MCS. PLS was employed for the analysis of the data. The analysis results showed that team trust significantly influences team commitment and project performance, respectively. However, usefulness of MCS is not significantly related to team commitment, while it play a prominent role in enhancing project performance. The results reveals that ease of use has a significant effect on usefulness of MCS, whereas ubiquity and polychronic use are not significantly related to it. From theoretical and practical perspective, this paper can provide in-depth knowledge of the effects of collaboration via MCS on project performance.

  • Recently the concept of authenticity has made an issue on the study of transformational leadership. Without authenticity of leader the effect of leadership nullifies the effectiveness of leadership for the followers. This study examines convergently the effect of transformational leadership on trust, organizational devotion, and team performance with the moderating effect of authenticity focusing 232 hotel team members in Busan using structural equation model. The results are as follows: First, transformational leadership has shown significantly effective toward trust and organizational devotion. Second, trust toward team leader has shown significantly effective toward team performance, while devotion has not shown dignificantly effective. Third, authenticity has shown significantly effective for moderating effect between leadership and trust, but not effective between leadership and devotion. This paper make significant contribution by testing the concept of authenticity.

  • A virtual team is defined a group of people that use electronic communications for some or all of their interactions with other team members. Because team members of a virtual team are physically and temporally distributed, a team's transactive memory system(TMS) is considered to be crucial for the team's effectiveness and performance. TMS refers to a set of individual memory systems which integrate knowledge possessed by particular members through a shared awareness of who knows what. This paper seeks to understand (1) how a virtual team's TMS influences team performance, and (2) what factors contribute to developing the team's TMS. Given these purposes, through the extensive literature review, we first identified components and antecedents to develop a theoretical model that predicts a virtual team's performance. Using the survey data gathered from 172 virtual teams, this study found that expertise location, coordination, and cognition-based trust which were proposed as three components of TMS positively influenced a virtual team's performance. Furthermore, this study uncovered that perceived media richness, network tie strength, and shared norms significantly influenced the components of TMS, while geographical dispersion did not exert any significant influence on TMS.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of team trust and cooperative behavior on the food-service employees' perceived service performance as well as the moderating effects of team competency and other department support in the relationship among the team trust, cooperative behavior, and service performance of food-service employees. We conducted a survey of 1,080 food-service employees working in 8 hotels and 4 food-service stores located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Song-do, Gyeongju, and Busan, and 841 food-service employees were employed for statistical analysis except unreliable responses. As a result of a SEM (structural equation modeling) analysis to confirm hypotheses, it was found that team trust (leader trust and co-worker trust) had a positive effect on the cooperative behavior. In addition, the cooperative behavior had a positive influence on the food-service employees' perceived service performance. Also found was the moderating effect of other department support in the relationship between the cooperative behavior and food-service employees' perceived service performance. Based on the research findings, we discussed its academic and practical implications, and suggestions on the future research.

  • The present research aims to analyze empirically the effect of group cohesiveness and supervisor trust which tax investigators recognize while performing tax administrative duties on the team commitment and in-role behavior. The result of the analysis showed that tax investigators' higher group cohesiveness and supervisor trust resulted in higher team commitment, and that higher team commitment in turn resulted in higher in-role behavior, thereby raising the efficiency of tax investigators' activities as well as tax payers' satisfaction with tax services. Therefore in order to improve the efficiency of tax organizations and team performance, the managers of the organizations must set solid goals, develop solid strategies appropriate for situation, and make proper compensations for investigators' achievements. In addition, there would have to be an organic improvement In all the relevant areas, including organization, personnel management, work style, compensation and welfare, in order to raise tax investigators' work desire.

  • This paper presents the development procedure and application of the generic component reliability data base considering the dependency among dependent generic compendia in NPPs (Nuclear Power Plants) PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment) under construction or without operating history. We use MPRDP (Multi-Purpose Reliability Data Processor) code developed in KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) based on a PEB (Parametric Empirical Bayesian) procedure to estimate the reliability. The employed model in this study accounts for the relative credibility as well as the dependency among generic estimates. Numerical examples and the part of summarized reliability data table are provided as the application.

  • This study is a study on the different cognitive systems and different knowledge systems of members participating in complex and diverse consulting projects, and it is a study on team collaboration that affects the team performance of the project. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effects of team shared cognition, team transactive memory, team knowledge integration, and team efficacy in the cognitive interaction process of a consulting project. This study established a research model and research hypothesis based on previous studies. Data were collected from consultants who actually participated in the consulting project. To empirically analyze the research hypothesis, demographic analysis, validity and reliability analysis, structural model analysis for hypothesis verification, and mediating effect analysis using phantom variables were performed. As a result of the study, in order to increase team performance, it is necessary to improve team shared cognition and team transactive memory, which are cognitive systems, and team knowledge integration, which is a knowledge system, must also be improved. Therefore, there is a need for a sense of team efficacy that integrates disparate cognitive and knowledge systems, trusts each other's expertise, and enables successful team work. In addition, future studies on sub-factors of cognitive processes are needed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between transformative leadership, team cohesion, and team performance of Chinese university taekwondo leaders. Specifically, it is to investigate the effect of transformative leadership on team cohesion and team performance and to verify the mediating effect of team cohesion in the relationship between transformative leadership and team performance. In order to achieve the research purpose, a total of 350 people were sampled after setting taekwondo leaders at Chinese universities as a population. The measurement tool used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of 5 items on demographic characteristics, a total of 19 questions on transformational leadership, 10 questions on team cohesion, and 4 questions on team performance. The validity of the questionnaire was verified through exploratory factor analysis, and the reliability was verified through reliability analysis. The reliability Cronbach's α of the questionnaire was found to be α=0.755-0.799 for transformative leadership, α=0.848, and α=0.740 for team performance. As the data processing method, exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis, one-way analysis (one-way ANOVA), and multiple regression analysis were used using SPSS WIN. The conclusions derived through the above research methods and procedures are as follows. First, the transformative leadership of Taekwondo leaders at Chinese universities influenced team cohesion. Second, the transformative leadership of Taekwondo leaders at Chinese universities influenced team performance. Third, the team cohesiveness of Taekwondo leaders at Chinese universities influenced team performance. Fourth, the transformative leadership of Taekwondo leaders at Chinese universities not only directly affects team performance, but also indirectly affects team cohesion. Therefore, it is believed that Chinese Taekwondo players will help improve their performance by affecting team cohesion and team performance for the best games through the leader's variable leadership.
