  • JeungPyeong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do is one of the smallest local governments in Korea with the administrative division of 1-eup and 1-myun and the population of 37,000. Nevertheless, people in JeungPyeong have consistently created 'the history of challenge and struggle' as for instance, they stood together tightly for raising its status to JeungPyeong-gun. The JeungPyeong-gun Archives and Records Management Office likewise has made 'small but great' successes similar to what was achieved in JeungPyeung-gun through several experimental challenges done recently, resulting in obtaining a budget for local archiving projects and adding a new position of records manager. This report briefly introduces projects implemented by the office including community archiving, landscape archiving, the exhibition of records, and applying for public fund competitions, and explains the implications. It attempts to share successful experiences of the office and to suggest ideas that help more other archives and records management offices create challenging experiments.

  • Historically, the representation of the colonial period has responded closely to the policies and political conditions of the time. The Korean blockbuster , which links the genealogy of Manchuria Western, adopts a safe nationalism frame, upgrading the genre's narrative typology to colorful action and spectacle, including the Japanese army, the Liberation Army, the good and evil, and the confusion of identity. On the other hand, , which deals with the friendship of the poet and the warrior, treats the mental and internal struggles implied by the power of poetry, without resorting to familiar nationalism and heroism. is a thorough genre of rules. If the visual and sensual pleasures of imaginative resilience beyond the bounds of the law are provided within the Rules, inevitably seeks resistance within the colonial empire's legal system. Political, diplomatic, and economic conflicts between Japan and Korea, which have been continuing until recently, reaffirm the framework of nationalism on the screen.

Methods: From April 14 to April 23, 2020, data were collected through individual in-depth interviews with eight nursing students, and the data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis methodology. Results: Seven categories emerged through experiences of pandemic infectious diseases among nursing students. The specific categories are 'the continuation of daily life containing worries', 'struggle in daily life lost by COVID-19', 'conflict in fear and expectation', 'the fight against loneliness', 'confusion and adaptation to the changed class management policy', 'improving the ability to cope with a new phase', 'a springboard for growth'. Conclusion: Nursing students suffered psychosocial difficulties in a pandemic situation, but they adapted and led them to a positive direction. they lived as an opportunity to have time to check their career identity and tried to supplement their lives. • This study purports to explore potential determinants of welfare attitudes toward universalism vs selectivism. For this purpose, literature review upon such subjects as definitions of universalism and selectivism and welfare attitudes has been done. The hierarchical regression analyses show several major results. First and foremost, the effects of those variables such as political orientation and attitudes toward free education and gratuitous child care, categorized as political-social stance were found to be significant. However, it was unexpected results that those variables which have been found signigicant in predicting welfare attitudes in previous literature, that is to say age, education and economic status especially were not to be found significant in predicting welfare attitudes toward universalism vs selectivism. There could be many underlying causes for this result including measurement errors, and this study strongly speculates that the division between universalism vs selectivism itself exists only both in purely conceptual level and in political rhetoric and therefore, universalism or selectivism as people's consistent and logical attitudes or consciousness may simply not exist at all.

  • In the 1980's, Lee Geun-sam wrote critiques that analyzed North Korea's performing arts and ideology. In the critiques, he posits the following characteristics of North Korea's performing arts. First, the works are designed in such a way to befit the purpose of the authorities' policy. Second, the works embrace political ideology whose purpose concerns class struggle. During the critique process, Lee Geun-sam compares the "freedom" of the performing arts activities in South Korea and the "regulatory" aspect of North Korea's performing arts activities and reveals implicitly the superiority of South Korea's system. In addition, Lee Geun-sam criticizes the political ideology of North Korea's performing arts and objects to viewing the concept of ideology from a Marxist viewpoint. According to Lee Geun-sam, an ideology is explained as an idea system representing an artist's conscious/unconscious worldview. Also, he contends that arts should distance itself from political ideology.

  • Why the National Assembly of Korea shows the serious disagreements or arguments in its operation? Regarding the question, this study pays attention to the perceptual differences among the parties for the structure of collective decision-making in the National Assembly of Korea. In addition, this study asserts that deepens the conflicts and the distrust in it. To be more specific, this study discusses about the optimal model for collective decision-making in legislative politics based on Buchanan and Tullock's opinion about it. And then, the trust in legislature forms the basis that makes it possible to respect the will of majority and protect the right of minority. The main reason that can't make the collective decision-making optimally in the National Assembly of Korea is to fight each other without the consensus about it. In this vein, making the collective decision-making optimally and recovering the trust among the parties are necessary to adopt a more consensual system. It will be helpful to prevent the use of noninstitutional means like the outside struggles or physical resistances in the National Assembly of Korea.

  • This study examined the effects of sex in different group sizes of Hanwoo calves. The growth performance including the mean daily gain, feed conversion rate, behavioral characteristics, and blood parameters in Hanwoo calves were investigated. A total of 54 heads of Hanwoo calves were housed separately at 4 heads per group, 3 heads per group, and 2 heads per group per pen. In the heifer calves, except for those 10 months of age, the growth performance was improved by increasing the group size, which was similar to steer calves (p<0.05). The heifer calves housed in 3 heads group spent more time lying down (p<0.05). The steer calves spent more time standing in the 3 heads group, lying down (2 heads group), and walking (4 heads group). The heifer calves housed in 2 heads group had a lower frequency of drinking, self-grooming, pairwise grooming, and fighting (p<0.05). On the other hand, the steer calves in the 4 heads group had a higher frequency of drinking, rubbing, and fighting (p<0.05). The white blood cell and cortisol were highest in the heifer calves in the 2 heads group (p<0.05).

  • Recently many organizations have engaged in widespread restructuring as well as more flexible usage of labor in an attempt to cut costs and to increase profit. As a result of lays offs resulting from frequent restructuring, many people no longer consider their jobs as permanent positions. many employees have an increased feeling of job insecurity. There structuring and following downsizing have created an uncertain environment within creased fear offer ther job losses. therefore the study of job insecurity is significant. especially To understand the relationship between job security and union-relation behaviors on the industrial relations. The purpose of this study suggested the strategies to company and union. The purpose of this study is to examine how the union-relation behaviors are influenced by the job security. This study built a exploratory model that there is causal relationship of job security to union commitment, dual commitment, and labor related behaviors. For the verification of this study model, the regression analysis was applied to the surveys of 236 members of union that are located in Busan, Gyeongnam, Ulsan, and Pohang. The result of this research shows that the job insecurity is strongly related to the union commitment and union related behaviors. According to the research, the effect that the job security affects union commitment and union related behaviors are positive. With the research outputs, we have discussed about the academic and pragmatic viewpoint. We proposed comprehensive model to verify how the job insecurity affects the union-related behaviors, and objectively analyzed the model. The research result was opposite to what the existing theories have said that high job insecurity derives high union-related behaviors. This result is meaningful because it is concerned with the social issues-present situation of Korean company, low-employment, unstable employment and so on. Moreover, this research may contribute to expand the aspect of academic research on job insecurity as there are few research conducted in korea. This research also suggests the realistic alternative of union-related behaviors because it is proved that job security can contribute to innovation activities. Also, this research implies that the matter of job insecurity is the basic need of organizational individual and presents that job security is not a notion but the alternative by using of the positional stability and situational control power. The limitation of this research is that it is only utilized the cross-sectional study. To remedy the cross-sectional study, vertical, and serial method of research is needed. And there is no enough sample to secure more comprehensive data as the targets of the research is limited to Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Finally, the measurement tool for job security is needed to be suitably modified to by the South Korea's economic, linguistic, and cultural situation.
