The Attitudes and Images of Middle School Students toward Invention (중학생의 발명에 대한 태도 및 이미지)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the attitudes and images of middle school students toward invention. This aims to provide basic data on qualitative improvement invention education. The results of this research are as follows: First, as for middle school students, the level of emotion and interest attitude toward invention is higher than elementary school students. The image of invention is positive but difficult (M=3.70). Second, as the overall attitude to invention according to gender of middle school students shows a consistent invention attitude, the attitude formation on invention during elementary school time is found to be important. The overall image of invention according to gender is shown to be significantly different (p<0.05). Third, the overall attitude on invention according to the grade of middle school students does not show a statistically significant difference (p>0.05). As for the ranking according to factors on attitude depending on grades, cognitive attitude is followed by emotional attitude, attitude of interest, and practical attitude. The overall image of invention according to the grade of middle school students does not show a statistically significant difference (p>0.05). This is determined as a result of the large pressure acting on the study from middle school. Finally, the acts of invention such as idea, creation, imagination, creativity are considered as important as the results of analysis of the words of the invention. Invention is analyzed to contribute to developing new products, providing convenience in life, social development, usefulness in real life, and alleviating inconvenience.

The Effect of Business Resource of the Members in Airport Special Guard's firms on the Business Attitude and Turnover Intention (공항 특수경비원들의 직무자원이 직무태도 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has an objective to analyze the causal relationship between the business resource of the members in the Airport Special Guard's firms and its effect on their business attitude and turnover intention. To carry out the study, I established a population of Airport Special Guard's working at the Airport firms in In-cheon, Kim-po, Cheong-ju and Dae-gu. Then a total of 300 questionnaires were sent out for the survey using the random sampling method of clusters. The study was carried out over about four months, from July, 2016 to october, 2016. A total of 260 questionnaires were used for the final data. 40 questionnaires were excluded either because they were not returned or contained extreme value. In this study, a statistical package of SPSS WIN 18.0 were used in the data analysis and the causal relationship was verified using the multiple regression analysis. The analysis showed the business resource to have a positive effect on the business attitude but a negative effect statistical level of p<.01 on the turnover intention at the statistical level of p<.001 and the hypothesis was adopted. The hypothesis regarding the business attitude was also adopted because business attitude was found to have a negative effect on the turnover intention at the statistical level of p<.01. In addition, business attitude was found to have a negative effect on the relationship between the business resource and turnover intention at the statistical level of p<.05. As a result, the hypothesis about the business attitude would function as the parameter was only partially adopted. Through these research result, it was investigated that the relation between business resource, business attitude and turnover intention is significantly effective variable in airport special guard's. Additionally, business resource is the most important.

A Study on the Attitudes of Preliminary Special Teachers toward Smart Education (스마트교육에 대한 예비특수교사들의 태도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study to understand attitude toward smart education of preliminary special teachers who major in special education and provide a foundation for establishing a systematic support strategy for preliminary teachers after graduation for applying smart education to their students. To this end, 230 students enrolled in special education programs were studied. The questionnaire to measure attitude toward smart education of preliminary teachers consisted of a total of 38 questions including cognitive, affective and behavioral attitudes. The questionnaire was analyzed using the SPSS Win 20.0 Program to calculated general statistic analysis such as mean and standard deviation, and the t-test, ANOVA and a post-verification method, Turkey were performed to determine if there was a difference between the individual variables. The analysis showed that the level of smart education behavior of prospective special teachers was 'moderate', and behavioral attitudes showed the highest level of behavior, and the affective attitude was the lowest. The result showed that the differences between grade is significant and attitude scores of seniors is higher than freshmen's. and there was a statistically significant difference in 'cognitive attitude' and 'behavioral attitude'as sub-factors of attitude by whether the practice teaching was conducted.

The Effects of a Portfolio System on Elementary Students' Science Achievements, Inquiry Ability and Attitudes by Region and Gender (초등 과학 포트폴리오 체제의 적용이 지역이나, 성별에 따라 과학 성취도, 과학 탐구 능력 및 과학 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the applicability of portfolio assessment to ordinary elementary science classes, and the effects of a portrolio assessment on students' science achievement, inquiry ability, and science attiudes. Two schools were sampled from a metropolitan area, a city, and three schools from rural area in central Korea. Two fifth-grade classes were sampled from each school selected, and one class is assigned to experimental group and the other to control group, respectively. The total number of participants of the study are 475. Portfolio assessmest was administered to experimental group, and conventional teaching to control group for two and half month. Science achievement test, science inquiry ability test, and science attitudes test were administered as a pre- and post-test. Portfolio asseddment seems to be applecable to ordinary elementary science classroom. Statistically meaningful difference was not found in students' science achievemant by group, region, and sex. Students' inquiry ability and science attitudes showed statistically meaningful difference by region rather than group. Experimental group showed more positive scores on some sub-domains of science attitudes, such as perception on science education, and science career, interests in science activity, and criticism. In conclusion, portfolio assessment can be applicable to ordinary dldmentary science classrooms. The effects of portfolio assessment are at least the same as the traditional teaching on student science achievement, inquiry ability, and science attitudes.

A Study on Relation between Attribution Style of Elementary Gifted and Talented in Information and Their Attitude to Information Science (초등 정보과학영재의 귀인성향과 정보과학에 대한 태도와의 관계에 대한 조사연구)

  • This paper aims at figuring out specific characteristics of affective attitude of gifted and talented in information, predicting follow-up activities and desirable direction of learning. Based on the analysis of this paper as educational directions and suggestions for elementary gifted and talented students in information are as follows: First, in gender ratio of gifted and talented in information, including the fact that ratio of boys is high, there remain the previous prejudice of higher information capability and it seems that girls who depend on external factors, parents and teachers should make more efforts to help girls trust their own capability in information science and lead them to give more value to attribution of efforts for achievement in information science. Second, as grade is higher, motivation to learn information science and attitude for success in information science among sub-elements of attitude to information science, motivation to seed positive recognition to higher graders is required. Third, in screening and selecting gifted and talented students in information, attitude to information science should be considered as main cause and the existing gifted and talented students in information should be prompted to improve their attitude to information science with value on effort for information science.

  • This study attempted to verify the relationship among Job Attitude, Personality and Demographic Characteristics according to Dual Commitment Type. The groups were named 'very high dual commitment group(both highly committed to the organization and union)', 'normal dual commitment group(average level of commitment to both of them)', 'resisting dual commitment group(no commitment to both of them)', 'organization commitment group(only committed to organization)', 'union commitment group(only committed to union)'. This research was analyzed by 388 Hyundai and Kia motor company members and 'very high dual commitment group' and 'organizational commitment group' showed the highest Job Satisfaction and Job Involvement. Through group segmentations considering sub-concepts could contribute to design a strategy to increase the company's competitiveness in aspects of the direction to the HR policy.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the rate of intention and registration of organ donation and to find their associated factors among some medical and nursing students. The study subjects were 629 students who majored in the medicine and nursing in medical school. The data were collected from self-administerd questionnaire composed of intention and registration of organ donation and scales of knowledge and attitude toward organ donation. As a result, the rates of intention and registration of organ donation were 72.1% and 12.5%, respectively. The associated factors with the intention of organ donation were sex, judging the brain death as a death, attitude for organ donation. The associated factors with the registration of organ donation were major, knowledge scores and attitude scores of organ donation.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Nursing ethics education(NE) on Spiritual well-being(SW), Attitude toward death(AD) and Perception of hospice palliative care(PH) in nursing students. This research used a one group pretest-posttest experimental design. Thirty hours NE program was given to 42 nursing students for six weeks. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test with SPSS 18.0. program. As a result, there are no significant effects of NE on SW, AD and PH. However, it was found one thing interest that neither our nursing ethics education program nor others' had significant effects on attitude toward death. Nurses provide care to people at the end of their lives more often than any other healthcare provider. Therefore it is necessary to study the development of educational programs improving positive attitude toward death.

The Effects of the Six Thinking Hats Program on Environmentally Friendly Attitude and Environmental literacy in Elementary Science (육색사고모자기법을 적용한 토의활동 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경 친화적 태도 및 환경소양에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the elementary students' environmentally friendly attitude and environment literacy through Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats in science class. The objects of this study were the sixth grade of both an experimental class (25 students) and a comparative class (24 students) a the S elementary school science class located in Incheon city. The results of this study were as follows: First, the change of environmentally friendly attitude in the experimental group applying the six thinking hats program have statistically meaningful differences (p<.05). Second, the environmental literacy of the experimental group was improved somewhat, but it has no meaningful differences compared the other group statistically. Therefore, the six thinking hats program applied in this study might be useful to improve the students' environmentally friendly attitude in elementary school science class.

Effects of Conjugal Power and Gender Role Attitudes on Marital Satisfaction of Middle-aged Couples (중년기 부부의 부부권력 및 성역할태도가 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper was to investigate the effects of conjugal power and gender role attitudes on marital satisfaction of middle-aged couples. This survey was conducted from April, 2011 to May, 2011 and 265 responses from the survey were used for the analysis. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA pearson correlation and multiple regression. The research findings could be summarized as the followings. First, the mean scores of gender role attitude, conjugal power, marital satisfaction of the marital middle-aged couples were higher than averages. Second, gender role attitude and conjugal power were the significant predictors to explain marital satisfaction of marital middle-aged couples.
