This paper aims at scrutinizing how the women's image in the Thai film 'Nang-Nak' has been represented, affecting the Thai people intensely and achieving its great success in spite of having the background of 19th century and being a remaker. To fulfill the purpose and analyze the argument, the ideas of Lee(1989), Joan(1973) and Joo(1996) are used as theoretical concepts for this study. As a result, two images of Thai women seem to be revealed in the movie. The first image, drawn from 'Maen' and 'Mian', is conventional, somewhat ideal type for Thai women, so being a common aspect. What makes the movie a big deal, however, is another image which the heroine 'Nak' has shown, attracting the audience to be moved to tears. It may be apparently an idiosyncratic or extraordinary one from the traditional point of view in Thailand, but in other sense is a new, fresh image for which the contemporary Thai women want to seek. That is why the movie became one of the most popular in Thailand.

모유가 인공유보다 아기에게 신체적, 정신적으로 바람직하다는 것은 강조할 필요가 없다. 모유수유율을 증가시키기 위하여는 간호사들이 아기어머니에게 모유수유와 관련된 지식을 전달하여, 모유수유를 실천할 수 있게 적극적으로 도와주어야 한다. 이 연구는 신생아나 산모와 함께 일하는 한국의 간호사 60명, 태국의 간호사 50명을 대상으로 모유수유에 관한 지식과 이 지식을 얼마나 어머니에게 전달하는지를 비교 조사한 것이다. 연구결과 한국 간호사보다 태국 간호사가 모유수유에 관한 정보를 어머니에게 더 제공하고 있었고, 더 적극적으로 모유수유를 할 수 있게 도와주고 있었다. 또한 태국병원의 체계도 모자동실을 실시하는 등 어머니가 아기를 낳은 직후부터 모자수유를 할 수 있게 되어있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 모유수유에 관한 지식정도를 비교한 결과 한국의 간호사가 태국의 간호사보다 더 정확한 지식을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 한국의 모성간호사들이 좀 더 적극적으로 어머니가 모유를 할 수 있도록 도와야 하며, 한국병원의 체계도 모유를 수유하기 쉽고 편안한 환경을 제공하여야 함을 나타내고 있었다. 또한 태국의 간호사와 한국의 모성간호사는 모유수유에 관한 최근의 지식을 정확하게 알아야 할 필요성을 제시하고 있었다.

A coiled nematode, which was removed surgically from a Thai woman, was consulted to the authors in July, 1987. She was known to surfer from meningoencephalitis since she was in Thailand. Numerous eosinophils were detected from her CSF. The worm was 12.3mm long and 0.9mm wide. It had a head bulb beset with eight rows of spines, a cervical constriction, esophagus, cervical sacs, dark intestine and testis, Cuticle of anterior half of the worm was covered with numerous spines. The spines at anterior part was stout and had 3∼4 tips, but they became slender, shorter, single tipped and sparser and finally they disappeared posteriorly. Cuticular spines reappeared at tail which had 4 pairs of pedunculated papillae. By above morphological characteristics, the worm was identified as an adult male of Gnathostcma spinigerum. The Present case is the first authentic case of imported intracranial gnathostomiasis in Korea, although clinical informations of the case were obtained limitedly.

Skin properties are influenced by a variety of internal or external factors. This study was conducted to investigate and compare the skin characteristics in Asian women. We evaluated values of skin physical parameters, and then assessed the correlations among the parameters, and regional differences in 1,500 Asian subjects in seven countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, China, and South Korea). The values of transepidermal water loss (TEWL), pH, skin hydration, sebum content, skin sensitivity, elasticity, crow's feet wrinkles, and skin brightness were measured. New Delhi's women were observed to have a lower level of hydration in stratum corneum, sebum content, stinging scores, and darker skin color than others. Furthermore, their skin surface pH on all sites is the highest among seven countries. Vietnamese had the lowest pH values in skin surface. Korean and Chinese had generally higher elasticity and fewer wrinkles. Both the skin hydration and TEWL had positive correlations with the stinging test, and there was a negative correlation between wrinkles and stinging test. These results represent that there was no clear trend related to the area or region. Skin physical parameters should be studied along with understanding of regional differences and various factors (skin care habits, lifestyle and personal sensitivity).

Recently, along with the remarkable increase in interest in natural products, the application of phytoestrogens in anti-aging products has become very important. In the focus, we developed Pueraria mirifica (PM), in this in vivo study on skin elasticity and wrinkles, and investigated the anti-aging properties. Thirty healthy women volunteers, between the ages of 30 and 60, applied the cream formula with $4\% Pueraria mirifica or placebo, on the face area twice a day for 16 weeks. The evaluation was made by silicon replica analysis, Cutometer SEM 575 and Comeometer followed by statistical treatment using the student's t-test. Results of skin elasticity measurement showed that topical application on the skin increased the total surface of skin elasticity in comparison with placebo group (p<0.05). However, PM cream does not have prominent effect on the depth of wrinkles and skin moisturization. This in vivo study demonstrates that, PM exhibits a significant effect on skin elasticity therefore, is of great interest in anti-aging and firmness skin care products.

Young Chinese audience can select and watch TV dramas, movies and entertainment programs from many different nations, such as Korea, America, Japan, England, Thailand, India, and so on, through multiple channels, such as online video sites - iQiyi, Youku, LeTV, PPTV, and many others - which were induced by changes in media environment. Various genres of Korean popular culture have recently become popular in China, but this phenomenon differs from the early Korean Wave. During the earlier period (from 1997 to the early 2000s) of the Korean Wave, soap operas were popular among middle-aged women, but now various other genres, such as K-pop, entertainment programs, etc., are also popular in China. The purpose of this study is to explore how young Chinese audiences use foreign pop culture, including their preferred genres, reasons for preferring these genres, and the relationship between the preferred pop culture and national image in Korean, American, and Japanese pop culture were analyzed. According to the study results, similarities and differences between preferred genres and the reasons for preferring these genres, and also a close correlation between preferred pop culture and national image were found. These findings will be fundamental for supporting the continual development of the Korean Wave in China.

This study conducted individual in-depth interviews of tourists from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand who visited Daegu. According to the analysis, Taiwan's target audience conducted an interview at the Chimac Festival in July 2018 at Duryu Park and was a university student as an individual female tourist. She got the information through SNS. The accommodation was guest house and medium and low cost hotel. The main tourist attractions included Seomun Market Night Market, Eworld and Dongseongno. The meals were Anjirang Gopchang and Galbijim in Dongin-dong. Next, the Hong Kong tourist interview was held in May 2018 at the Kwandeung Festival in Duryu Park, and was an individual tourist as a man. Lastly, an interview with a Thai tourist was held in April 2018 at the Donghwa Temple Cherry Blossom Festival in Palgongsan Mountain, and he purchased a travel agent product as a man. Participants of the tour in Daegu were interested in unusual experiences such as beauty, wedding, theme parks, and restaurants that are unique to Korea. What was disappointing was that there were not enough shopping facilities, such as duty free shops, and that the table in the restaurant was inconvenient, and that there were not enough signboards by language for foreigners.
