The purpose of this study was to find out the factors related to creative achievement of engineering students. 14 participants were interviewed. After finishing all interview, the data were analysed using a thematic approach. As a result, 8 principal themes emerged from the data.
This study aims to find ways for securing continuity of elementary mathematics curriculum and kindergarten curriculum. To do this, we considered the status of 'mathematical exploration' in Nuri curriculum and analysed the correspondence of content-domains and the continuity between Nuri curriculum for ages three to five and 2009 revised national elementary mathematics curriculum, based on the reconstructed achievement criteria. The result of these analyses reveals that the classification of five content-domains both for 'mathematical exploration' of Nuri curriculum and for 2009 revised national elementary mathematics curriculum coincides. We also recognized the reconstructed achievement criteria which are considered as reverse continuity or as discontinuity of Nuri curriculum and 2009 revised national elementary mathematics curriculum in all the five content domains. The former means being lower in levels or reduction in ranges from Nuri curriculum to elementary one. The latter means that some reconstructed achievement criteria are included in only one of the two curriculum. Based on these results, we suggested several ways to secure the continuity between Nuri curriculum and 2009 revised national elementary mathematics curriculum in the perspective of mathematics education.
This study is to figure out the activity and disposition of gifted students with face plot in exploratory data analysis at middle school mathematics class. This study has begun on the basis of the doing mathematics at multivariate analysis beyond one variable and two variables. Gifted students were developed the good learning habits theirselves. According to this result, Many gifted students have an interesting experience at data analysis with Face Plot. And they felt the useful methods of creative thinking about graphics with doing mathematics at mathematical tasks. I think that teachers need to learn the visualization methods and to make and to develop the STEAM education tasks connected real life. It should be effective enough to change their attitudes toward teaching and learning at exploratory data analysis.

In this study, the students' responses on the items of chemistry II in the College Scholastics Ability Test (CSAT) implemented for the past 3 years since 1999 was investigated. The number of applicants and mean score of chemistry II, average percent correct by contents and inquiry process, and the items with high and/or low percent correct are analysed and discussed. The percentage of applicants for natural science track is reduced each year. However, more than 25% of natural science track applied to chemistry II, which ranked second to biology II. The mean score of chemistry II was increased in 2001 along with those of other subjects. There is no difference in average percent correct either by contents or inquiry process. Students performed generally poor at solving test items relating to 'colligative properties of solution' such as 'boiling point elevation' or 'osmotic pressure', and very well at solving test items relating to 'reaction rates'. Educational implications are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to develop teaching materials using Pyramid model of divergent thinking, Inverse pyramid model of convergent thinking and Diamond model of divergent-convergent thinking. And the teaching materials was implemented to 120 students in middle school over 10 weeks. Results indicated that the experimental group presented statistically meaningful improvement in creative thinking skills, especially in fluency and flexibility(p<.05). Also the teaching materials contributed to improve critical thinking skills, especially in inquiry process of recognizing problems, making conclusion and generalization(p<.05). Moreover, academic achievement was improved(p<.05). But, there was no significant improvement in creative personality(p<.05).
SBS's -also known as - is one of the most famous investigative programs in South Korean television sector. This program is well-known for its much detailed and tenacious investigation of unsolved crimes, various social wrong-doings, as well as public scandals through a mystery code and meticulous storytelling. As a result, generates much popular interests and responses from local audiences. This work both examines and contextualizes the multiple roles and implications of this program through a textual and production analysis. Especially, it critically pursues this program's achievements and limits in the context of the changing roles of investigative journalism and its unstable status at current juncture.
This study aims to explore the concepts and nature of records in digital environments based on analyzing recent theoretical studies of records. This is not intended to defining records for management in a specific environment. This study is divided into two parts. Firstly, it classifies the definitions of records in three perspectives; evidence, information, and representation of activities, and explores the concepts and theoretical backgrounds underlying each definition. Secondly, it articulates some implications for understanding the concept and nature of records in digital environments by four categories such as i) fixity, ii) materiality, iii) activity and context, and iv) trustworthiness, which were derived from the definition of "persistent representation of activities" by Geoffrey Yeo.
Nowadays the education of Mathematics is more important than any other courses in the school. But the most students have felt the difficulty and uncomfortableness in studying Mathematics, especially the geometry course. Moreover teachers also consider that the teaching of geometry is the hardest part of Mathematics. Therefore we suggest an effective method of teaching the geometry course for the middle school students. We provide the activity papers which contain mathematics problems based on the practical life of students. And we analyze the effects of the activity papers using the questionnaire.
One of the most controversial issues in contemporary research of creativity, whether a person"s creativity is domain-specific or domain-general, was investigated with 109 second grade children in the present study. The purposes of this study sere to empirically examine (1) the relationships among children's creative performances measured by three product-based assessments (story-telling, collage-making, and math word problems) in three domains, and (2) the relationships between children's general creative thinking sills, measured by two divergent thinking tests, and children's creative performances. The findings of this study support the position that creative ability in young children is rather (but not absolutely0 domain-specific. Children exhibited a range of creative ability across different domains rather than a uniform creative ability in diverse domains, indicating there is considerable intra-individual variation in creative ability by domain. Divergent thinking measures did not have great power in predicting creative performance in at least two of three, if not all, domains assessed in the study. It is implied from the study that it is not possible to reliably predict a child"s creative ability in one domain based on his/her creative ability in other domains or his/her overall divergent thinking ability. Implication of the study in connection with educational practices for gifted children is discussed.
