Development and Evaluation of Automatic Steering System for Parallel Parking (평행주차를 위한 자동 조향 제어시스템 개발 및 성능평가)

  • This research is conducted to develop an automatic steering system for parallel parking, and the performance of the system was evaluated by parallel parking a conventional vehicle. The automatic steering system consisted of MDPS (motor driven power steering) to control steering, ESC (electronic stability control) to acquire wheel speed, ultrasonic sensors to recognize the parking space, and a controller to communicate and handle data. The parallel parking process using the automatic steering control consisted of parking space recognition, parking path generation, and parking path tracking. The path for parallel parking was generated based on a kinematic model of a conventional vehicle, and a PI controller was used to control the steering angle for path tracking. Parallel parking using the automatic steering control was conducted according to vehicle speed conditions. The results show that the errors on the x-axis and y-axis were below 0.54 m and 0.14 m, respectively, and the error on the steering angle was less than $1^{\circ}$. Therefore, it is possible to implement parallel parking using an automatic steering control system for conventional vehicles.

  • A 2-way solenoid valve regulates to maintain the pressure of ullage volume of propellant tanks when the command is given by control system for the liquid-propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle. The simulation model of solenoid valve for pressurization is designed with AMESim to verify the designs and evaluate the dynamic characteristics and pneumatic behaviors of valve. To improve the accuracy of the model, numerical flow analysis by using FLUNET code. The simulation results of their operating durations of valve by AMESim analysis are matched up with the results of experiments and validate valve model. Using the model, we analyze performance of valve; opening/closing pressure, operating time on various design factors of basic valve and control valve; geometrical size of valve seat, ratio of basic valve and sealing area.

  • North Korea's cyber warfare capability is becoming a serious security threat to Korea because most of the operational systems of social infrastructure and advanced weapons system are all networked. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to examine what the Korean government should do to strengthen cyber security capabilities toward North Korea. For this purpose, this article analyzed North Korea's cyber attack cases against Korea by categorizing according to threat type and purpose. The research findings are as follows. It is necessary first, to have aggressive cyber protection and attack capabilities; second, to establish an integrated cyber security control tower that can be overseen by the national government; third, to need to legislate domestic cyber- related laws; fourth, to build a multilateral & regional cyber cooperation system. The implication of these findings are that it needs to be strengthened the cyber security capability from the cyber threats of North Korea by minimizing the damage during the peacetime period and for the complete warfare in case of emergency.

  • 전 지구적으로 학명이 보고된 식물 종은 약 36만종이다. 그 중 종자를 생산하는 관속식물은 310,422종으로 전체 식물종의 85.7%에 달한다(IUCN, 2018). 그리고 2015년 Primely Forest Organization (PFO)에서는 야생식물의 80%가 산림 내에 서식한다고 밝혔다. 식물이 인류에게 주는 다양한 이로움은 인류의 생존과 복지증진에 막대한 영향을 미친다. 2016년 State Worlds Plants (SWP)에 따르면 인류가 현재까지 이용하는 식물종은 31,128종으로 알려져 있다. 이중 약용으로 17,810종, 식량으로 5,538종을 유용하게 이용하고 있다. 하지만 현재 전 지구적 생물멸종속도는 산업혁명 이전 보다 약 1,000배정도 빠르게 진행이 되고 있다(Science, 2017). 이에 전 지구적 생물다양성보전을 위해 생물다양성 협약, 지구식물보전전략 등이 지속적으로 발효 이행되고 있다. 시드볼트는 이러한 보전전략을 이행하기 위해 적합한 시설이다. 우리나라도 노르웨이와 전 세계적으로 2곳뿐이 없는 시드볼트를 가지게 되었다. 우리의 시드볼트는 전 지구적 재난과 재앙에 대비해 야생식물종자를 안전하게 영구 저장하는 시설이고, 우리나라는 봉화군에 위치한 국립백두대간수목원 내에 200만점 저장 규모로 조성이 되어 있다. 현재 국내 외 수집 수탁종자 48,327점이 안전하게 저장이 되어 있다. 국내 23개 종자관련 기관, 단체, 개인과 카자흐스탄 등 해외 3개국 6개 기관이 야생식물종자의 영구저장을 요청하였다. 앞으로 시드볼트는 통일시대에 대비하여 지구적 야생식물종자 저장의 컨트롤타워 역할과 종자연구의 중심기관으로 발돋움 할 것이다. 이에 따른 목표로 2050년까지 백두대간 글로벌시드볼트(BGSV)는 전세계 식물종의 13%, 40만점을 저장할 것이다. 특히 종자연구부분에서는 현재 종 맞춤형 활력검정시스템개발, 분류군별 장기저장 특성분석, 장기저장 종자수명예측 등을 고도화하여 한반도 야생식물 종자정보 플랫폼 구축, 고대 매장종자 보전 모델링 연구, 지구 종자연구 브릿지 구축 등으로 개발, 발전시킬 것이다.

Spectogram analysis of active power of appliances and LSTM-based Energy Disaggregation (다수 가전기기 유효전력의 스팩토그램 분석 및 LSTM기반의 전력 분해 알고리즘)

  • In this study, we propose a deep learning-based NILM technique using actual measured power data for 5 kinds of home appliances and verify its effectiveness. For about 3 weeks, the active power of the central power measuring device and five kinds of home appliances (refrigerator, induction, TV, washing machine, air cleaner) was individually measured. The preprocessing method of the measured data was introduced, and characteristics of each household appliance were analyzed through spectogram analysis. The characteristics of each household appliance are organized into a learning data set. All the power data measured by the central power measuring device and 5 kinds of home appliances were time-series mapping, and training was performed using a LSTM neural network, which is excellent for time series data prediction. An algorithm that can disaggregate five types of energies using only the power data of the main central power measuring device is proposed.

Analysis of Engine Load Factor for a 78 kW Class Agricultural Tractor According to Agricultural Operations (농작업에 따른 78 kW급 농업용 트랙터 엔진 부하율 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to calculate and analyze the engine load factor of major agricultural operations using a 78 kW class agricultural tractor for estimating the emission of air pollutants and greenhouse. Engine load data were collected using controller area network (CAN) communication. Main agricultural operations were selected as plow tillage (PT), rotary tillage (RT), baler operation (BO), loader operation (LO), driving on soil (DS), and driving on concrete (DC). The engine power was calculated using the measured engine load data. A weight factor was applied to load factor for considering usage ratio according to agricultural operations. Weight factors for different agricultural operations were calculated to be 27.4%, 32.9%, 17.5%, 7.7%, 4.5%, and 10.0% for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. As a result of the field test, load factors were 0.74, 0.93, 0.41, 0.23, 0.27, and 0.21 for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. The engine load factor was the highest for RT. Finally, as a result of applying the weight factor for usage ratio of agricultural operations, the integrated engine load factor was estimated to be 0.63, which was about 1.31 times higher than the conventional applied load factor of 0.48. In future studies, we plan to analyze the engine load factor by considering various horsepower and working conditions of the tractor.

Analysis of Engine Load Factor for Agricultural Cultivator during Plow and Rotary Tillage Operation (플라우 및 로터리 작업 시 농업용 관리기의 엔진 부하율 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to measure and analyze engine load factor (LF) according to working conditions (operation type and gear stage) of small agricultural multi-purpose cultivator to estimate the emission of air pollutants. To calculate LF, a torque sensor capable of collecting torque and rotational speed was installed on the engine output shaft and DAQ was used to collect data. A field test was conducted with major operation of a cultivator and tillage operations (plow tillage and rotary tillage). Engine power was calculated using engine torque and rotational speed and LF was calculated using real-time power and rated power. In addition, unified LF was calculated using the weight for each operation and the average LF for each operation. As a result, average LF values at 1.87 and 3.10 km/h by plow tillage were 0.50 and 0.69, respectively. Average LF values at 1.87 and 3.10 km/h by rotary tillage were 0.70 and 0.78, respectively. Furthermore, unified LF calculated in consideration of the weight factor showed a value of 0.65, which was 135% higher than the conventional LF (0.48). Results of this study could be used as basic information for realizing LF values in the field of agricultural machinery.

Development of Exhaust Fan with an Embedded Controller for Windowless Swine Housing (무창돈사를 위한 컨트롤러 일체형 환기팬 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze temperature distribution characteristics using a model swine housing for temperature sensor adjustable positioning and developed a sensor and controller embedded exhaust fans utilizing ICT fusion technology for windowless swine housing. Temperature measured by the sensor attached on the exhaust fan was also determined that there is no problem, the temperature is located in the upper fan given the measured errors shown in the 1℃ temperature difference between the lower temperature than the other positions in the model swine housing. The performance of the exhaust fan at maximum output was found to be 1920rpm, air flow rate 125㎥/min. When the open area ratio of 70% one proper air volume of the exhaust fan was found to be 75㎥/min, 60pa. Maximum efficiency in all of the output of the exhaust fan is exhibited at about 70% open area ratio of the damper. The number of revolution of the exhaust fan was 1920rpm when the output was a maximum of 100%. AC output phase of the pulse duty ratio change of the controller was shown to change without delay. It was determined that the instant fan speed control is possible.

Development of the Path Generation and Control System for Unmanned Weeding Robot in Apple Orchards (사과 과원 무인 제초를 위한 작업 경로 생성 및 경로 제어 시스템 개발)

  • Weeding in orchards is closely associated with productivity and quality. The customary weeding process is both labor-intensive and time-consuming. To solve the problems, there is need for automation of agricultural robots and machines in the agricultural field. On the other hand, orchards have complicated working areas due to narrow spaces between trees and amorphous terrain. Therefore, it is necessary to develop customized robot technology for unmanned weeding work within the department. This study developed a path generation and path control method for unmanned weeding according to the orchard environment. For this, the width of the weeding span, the number of operations, and the width of the weeding robot were used as input parameters for the orchard environment parameters. To generate a weeding path, a weeding robot was operated remotely to obtain GNSS-based location data along the superheated center line, and a driving performance test was performed based on the generated path. From the results of orchard field tests, the RMSE in weeding period sections was measured at 0.029 m, with a maximum error of 0.15 m. In the steering period within row and steering to the next row sections, the RMSE was 0.124 m, and 0.047 m, respectively.
