  • This study is a report about the two summer camps of 2009 and 2010, which were held by some gifted classes of Liberal Arts areas in Chungnam Province. The students' self- directed methods, making an own project topic and an outline plan for that by students themselves before the camp, raised up the students' satisfaction of the camp effectively. Staying with their peer students and teachers for 3 days gave the gifted students a chance for relationship, self-confidence, and self-sufficiency. These joint summer camps provided the students with cognitive development, motivations and a chance to meet other gifted students. Teachers' preparation for the camp, their concrete feedback to each student's project, and students' time spending on one's own camp project were correlated with the students' satisfaction of the camp program. Experience of teacher training in gifted education made significant differences in understanding gifted students and expectations of students' social and emotional development throughout and after the camp.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation index that can assess the Army training program of Green Camp. The result of the evaluation index phased-developed with the CIPP model is summarized below. First, the literature review with documents relevant to program evaluation, Green Camp field research, and expert discussions were used to select factors considered for evaluation and develop a preliminary evaluation area and item for the four areas within the CIPP evaluation model. Second, an initial survey targeting Green Camp and soldiers in the Capital Defense Command examined the preliminary reliability·validity, and the Focused Group discussions were used to supplement the evaluation index. Third, secondary surveys were conducted in four battalions in Gangwon-do and third surveys targeted officers from twelve different corps and personnels related to the Green Camp which verified descriptive statistics analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and correlation analysis in version SPSS 24. Fourth, with the validation verification procedure, 16 evaluation area and 36 evaluation index was confirmed. Fifth, the 36 evaluation index developed was subdivided into 57 indexes and the Delphi method was applied through the policy expert to formulate 43 generalized indexes. The significance of this phased research approach was considered for the institutionalization of the usage of scientific evaluation(index) and development in policy process.

  • This research explores the change of smoking cessation motivation, maintenance(6months) from the heavy smokers who have experienced residential treatment. Data was collected by the questionnaires about participates motivation from 1st August 2015 to 31st December 2018. Total participates were 1317 that 1248 males (94.8%) and 69 females (31.3%). The most of participants answered their period of smoking was 31-40years as 31.3% (413p) of total participants. Motivation improved after residential treatment, and the 6-month success group had overall cessation of smoking cessation (F=6.52, p=.011), In the subcategories, pre-contemplation(F=5.12, p=.024), contemplation(F=.90, p= .341), preparation-level1(F=5.79, p=.016) and preparation-level2(F=1.33, p=.249) were statistically significant. Thus, this research investigates that the residential program for smoking cessation actually works to the heavy smokers to increased their motivation and that the 6-month success group had stronger.

  • This study attempted to present a strategy for operating a university Semiconductor Boot Camp in order to resolve the manpower shortage in semiconductor companies and establish a virtuous cycle of talent development and industrial growth. For this purpose, we conducted a survey and interview with 18 experts in the semi-apprenticeship field and analyzed them. As a result of the analysis, there was a high consensus on the need for boot camps to 'meet the needs of various companies' and 'cultivate talent capable of being deployed in the field', and opinions on the program's goal were 'to provide education to those expected to graduate and graduates majoring in science and engineering through education. The level of agreement was highest for 'strengthening practical capabilities' and 'cultivating professional talent with expert knowledge of each unit process'. The Semiconductor Boot Camp curriculum was found to be most suitable for conducting field practical projects after training in field experience, theory, and practice. This research is expected to be used as a basis for devising a strategy for effectively running the semiconductor field in university education.

  • Rapid changes in modern society after the COVID-19 have highlighted artificial intelligence talent as a major influencing factor in determining national competitiveness. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education planned a large-scale SW·AI camp education project to develop the digital capabilities of 4th to 6th grade elementary school students and middle and high school students who are in a vacuum in artificial intelligence education. Therefore, this study aims to develop a camp-type SW·AI education program for students in grades 4-6 of elementary school so that students in grades 4-6 of elementary school can acquire basic knowledge in artificial intelligence. For this, the meaning of SW·AI education in elementary school is defined and SW·AI contents to be dealt with in elementary school are: understanding of SW AI, 'principle and application of SW AI', and 'social impact of SW AI' was set. In addition, an attempt was made to link the set elements of elementary school SW AI education and learning with related subjects and units of textbooks currently used in elementary schools. As for the program used for education, entry, a software coding learning tool based on block coding, is designed to strengthen software programming basic competency, and all programs are designed to be operated centered on experience and experience-oriented participants in consideration of the developmental characteristics of elementary school students. In order for SW·AI education to be organized and operated as a member of the regular curriculum, it is suggested that research based on the analysis of regular curriculum contents and in-depth analysis of SW·AI education contents is necessary.

  • The purpose of this study was to introduce the development and application of STEAM education science camp program conducted in J university for high school students and to suggest the ideal class design method and procedures along with STEAM logics and viewpoints. The pre-service science teachers participated in the class developed teaching materials in accordance with STEAM education model and the teaching procedures and materials were modified and supplemented through the education specialist group's assessment and the actual class. The developed program was applied to the second-year students(N=45) of a science-focus school in Jeonju City and the first and second-year students(N=61) of 13 high schools in Jeonbuk province who participated in the 'STEAM experiment camp' during the summer vacation in 2012. After the class, the learners' average satisfaction level in the program content and activities was 4.02 point out of 5 point and the pre-service science teachers' average satisfaction level in the program and teaching-learning was 4.28 point. Therefore, the STEAM education program of this case study can be a model to the teachers who desire to plan the science-focus STEAM class and conduct it.
