The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of parental overprotection on Korean college students' moral behaviors. To test the prediction that overprotected participants will show more immoral behaviors in moral dilemma situations, we measured perceived parental overprotectiveness and morality. Participants were 113 college freshmen. Two types of modified experimental paradigms were used to assess participants on their levels of justice-oriented and prosocial morality. Based on whether they displayed moral behavior (i.e., honest or helping behavior) or not, participants were included in either moral or immoral group. Second, the levels of perceived maternal overprotectiveness and paternal overprotectiveness were assessed using Korean-Parental Overprotection Scale (K-POS) and were compared between moral and immoral group. For justice-oriented morality, the results showed that the immoral group reported a significantly higher level of perceived maternal overprotection compared to the moral group (t = 2.16, p < .05). On the contrast, paternal overprotection was not related to participants' honesty. The results indicate that participants who experienced overprotective parental care are more likely to act immorally in moral dilemma situations dealing with justice. Meanwhile, for prosocial morality, both maternal and paternal overprotection levels did not result in significant difference between two groups. More Implications and limitations were discussed.

This study was to examine the role for children's prosocial behavior in terms of maternal parenting behavior, smart-media addiction and ADHD-related behaviors. The study sample was 537 children who had participated in the tenth wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children. The data were analyzed for descriptive statistics, correlation, and serial multiple mediation analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that the direct effect of maternal parenting behavior on children's prosocial behavior was not significant. Second, in the relationship between the maternal parenting behavior and the children's prosocial behavior, the mediating effects of smart-media addiction and ADHD-related behaviors were significant, respectively. Third, in the effect of maternal parenting behavior on children's prosocial behavior, it was found that smart-media addiction and ADHD-related behaviors mediate it in series. These results provide to a better understanding of the process between maternal parenting behavior to children's prosocial behavior and especially emphasize the importance of smart-media addiction and ADHD-related behaviors.
This study examines the role of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) activity recognition on job satisfaction, prosocial activities, and job performance among customer representatives working in call center environments. After gathering data from 264 call center workers in major South Korean insurance companies, the analysis w as performed using SmartPLS 4.0. This study's findings reveal that employee recognition of ESG activities significantly enhanced job satisfaction. The impact of ESG activity recognition on prosocial behavior was positive but relatively weak. Job satisfaction influences both prosocial behavior and the job performance of employees. Finally, prosocial behavior positively influences job performance. The most significant finding is that employees' recognition of companies' ESG management practices serves as a job resource. This recognition enhances employees' attitudes, behavior, and performance, signaling the potential benefits of informing employees about corporations' ethical behaviors.
This study examined the relationships among perceived values(environmental value, functional value), perceived risk, subjective norm, pro-social behavior, product attitude, and usage intention related to car-sharing service. The study also explored the moderating role of possessive desire between the antecedent variables and consumer attitude. 238 survey responses of Chinese consumers were analyzed by structural equation modeling. It is indicated that environmental value, functional value, subjective norm, pro-social behavior had positive effects on attitude, thereby affecting the usage intention of this service. Possessive desire moderated the relationship between environmental value, subjective norm and attitude. These results are expected to provide various marketing strategies for sharing economy services.
This study examined the effect of parenting style on children's prosocial behavior. Children's prosocial behaviors were examined by 3 factors : adaptation to school life, relationships with others, and ability to control emotions. Subjects were 195 three-, four-, and five-year-old children and their parents. Children's prosocial behavior differed as a function of children's age but not gender. Children's relationships with others among the prosocial behaviors showed a statistically significant difference by mother's autonomous parenting style. Unexpectedly, children's prosocial behaviors did not vary according to fathers' parenting style.
This paper aims to develop the art programs supporting prosocial behaviors of young children from multicultural and typical Korean families. On the basis of the survey results and literature review, art activities were planned. And the program was executed amongst young children from multicultural and typical Korean families to test the applicability of the program. The young children in the program showed either positive attitudes or conflicts with their peer group at the beginning. As the program continued, young children were gradually harmonized, yielding to each other and were negotiating. During the last stage of the program, young children from multicultural and typical Korean families demonstrated prosocial behaviors of sharing, helping, and cooperating with each other. These kinds of results prove that the art programs are helpful in promoting prosocial behavior among young children from multicultural and typical Korean families. Therefore, it appears that an educational institute in which young children from multicultural families are taught would be able to support prosocial behavior for young children from multicultural and typical Korean families using this program.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between fathers' child-rearing attitude and children's prosocial behavior. The participants were 410 children aged 3-6 years, who completed scales of the fathers' child-rearing attitude, children's prosocial behavior, and self-efficacy. The data were analyzed in terms of a hypothesized structural equation model using AMOS 7.0. The results were as following. Firstly, the fathers' child-rearing attitude was found to have a direct effect on children's prosocial behavior and self-efficacy. Secondly, children's self-efficacy was also found to affect children's prosocial behavior directly. Thirdly, children's self-esteem have a mediated effect on the relationship between fathers' child-rearing attitude and the children's prosocial behavior.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mothers' child-rearing attitudes and children's self-regulation on their prosocial behaviors. The participants were 151 children(aged 5-6) and their mothers. The results were as follows: (1) Subordinate spheres of 'controlling' and 'playing' in mothers' child-rearing attitudes and children's prosocial behaviors showed significant positive correlations. (2) Children's self-regulation was positively related to their prosocial behaviors. (3) When children's self-regulation was controlled, mothers' child-rearing attitudes did not show any positive correlations with children's prosocial behavior. In conclusion, children's self-regulation mediated the association between mother's child-rearing attitudes and prosocial behaviors.

This study was designed to recognize the importance of prosocial behavior, aimed at developing and utilizing a tea ceremony education program to foster prosocial behavior in children to be used in pre-school during early childhood when basic behavioral patterns are established. The sample was composed of 90 children from K pre-school located in GangDong-Gu and 90 children from K pre-school located in Jung-Gu. Their ages varied from 3 to 5 years old and the family's financial position was approximately middle class. The results were as follows, the change in children's prosocial behavior according to the group showed that childhood tea ceremony education through the tea ceremony education program affected the improvement in children's prosocial behavior. This suggests that childhood tea ceremony education are useful for improving children's basic habits and prosocial behavior, as well as character education.
In this study, we examined the effects of video game play on a variety of areas of mental well-being, such as aggressive behavior, aggressive cognition, prosocial behavior, prosocial attitude, antisocial behavior, antisocial attitude, positive affect, and negative affect. We conducted a multivariate meta-analysis on 22 studies (k= 54, N = 8,031) published between January 2008 and October 2019. The results of the meta-analysis indicate that exposure to violent video games significantly increased aggressive cognition and negative affect only in true experimental studies, but their influences were small. Furthermore, the exposure to violent video games did not increase aggressive behavior and negative affect across all the research designs (true experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational). Moderator analyses revealed that the effects of exposure to violent video games were much larger for younger adults than for children and greater in male-biased studies than in gender-balanced ones. Additionally, studies using better methodologies were less likely to produce negative effects. These findings suggest that the effects of exposure to violent video games on aggression were not as severe as popular opinion holds, and the effects were heavily modulated by the age and gender ratio of the participants, and methodological quality of the studies.
