Choosing Patterns for Dental Clinic among Community People (지역사회주민의 치과의료기관선택에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to find out the factors affecting community people choice of dental clinic so that the results could be served as basic information to formulate marketing strategies for dental clinic. 238 people in Ulsan metropolitan city were surveyed through a self administered questionnaire. 1. All the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ values related with dental clinic's internal factor, external factor and access were more than 0.6. 2. The most important factor of dental clinic choice was dentist's faithfulness. 3. On the occasion of choosing dental clinic, internal factor was more important than external factor. 4. The most important factor of dental clinic choice was dental clinic's access on more than 46 years old.

  • This study was carried out to provide basic data for improving oral health management plans by identifying the actual conditions of dental treatment use and criteria for selecting dental medical institutions for foreign students. The survey method was a survey of 145 foreign students at S University, and the collected data was conducted with the SPSS 24.0 program. As a result of the analysis, dental caries treatment was the most common among all nationalities in the dental experience. When the oral health education program was important, the will to use dental treatment in the future was positive. Therefore, in the future, it is required to revitalize oral health education programs and provide health care information for foreign students.

Analysis of Selection Criteria of Consumers for Dental Clinic (의료소비자의 특성별 치과의료기관 선택기준에 관한 분석)

  • The subjects of this study were the patients of H Dental Hospital in Busan, who visited for the purpose of treatment in patients over 18 years of age and 151 patients, analyzed the data of the results of the selection criteria of the dental health care consumer. The gender of the subjects by cross-analysis, importance order of selection criteria for dental hospital were cleanness and hygiene(78.1%), equipment and facilities(60.9%), career and word-of-mouth(57.6%), staff kindness(57.6%), ease of use(32.5%) and scale of dental hospital(22.5%), it was appeared similar in comparison of cross-analysis and average-analysis. Major consideration of the study subjects to select criteria for dental hospital was pain control(31.8%), infection control(30.5%), cost(29.8%), time(7.9%) respectively. Gender as a primary consideration to the part of a man in pain control(39.2%), women cost(39.1%) was most common (p<0.001). In dental health care consumer to select criteria, clean hygiene and infection control at the heavily appeared to affect the direction of change in the consciousness of consumers seeking and it is necessary to improve hospital services for the dental care of their qualitative changes.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the importance of information sources for the choice of dental institution among consumers of dental service and the relationship between their demographic characteristics and information search pattern. And it's found that those who intended to use a dental institution were active in information search through human resources, and that the Internet was utilized as an additional means of information acquisition. Medical service suppliers should direct their energy into providing information in a diverse and efficient manner in order to address the buying needs of medical consumers and expedite their choice.

  • This research surveyed, from 17 March 2008 to 25 March 2008, 261 students, 1,2,3 grade, who study in the a dental laboratory technology of college placed in Suwon. We sent them out each three questionnaire and surveyed their family and friends including themselves. We got back 584 paper out of 783 paper which we sent out and used as data of analysis. When choosing a dental clinic, we used a Pearson Correlation to understand a relation of variables connected with a medical service. The result showed that every each fields have a positive correlation and especially a correlation between a physical environment and an ability of dentist is showed most highly and a correlation between a basic element of clinic and a traffic convenience is showed a meaningful positive in that order.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate information source of the choice of select dental medical institution and the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics and information searching pattern. This study was conducted for residents adults and teens living in Gwangju and rural communities of Jellanam-do province including. The study shows that 61.0 % of the information of selecting dental medical institutes had been introduced by the acquaintance and the rest of the information(37.0%) had been gotten from the internet. The purpose of this study is to develop an information search method that can influence the choice of medical consumers in dental clinics, and to establish a new dental clinic management strategy based on this research. Plus, we want to develop an information search source that can have a convergence effect on the selection of medical consumers in dental medical institutions.

A Study on the State of the Claim of Dental Medical Institutions for Payment from the National Health Insurance Corporation (치과 의료기관의 건강보험 청구실태)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the state of the claim of dental clinics for payment from the national health insurance corporation in a bid to provide some information on the efficient management of payment claim by dental institutions. The findings of the study were as follows: As for the form of payment claim, 45.4 percent claimed payment by themselves, and 54.6 percent asked an agent to do that on behalf of them. Concerning the type of occupation of the applicants, dental hygienists demanded payment in the biggest number of the dental clinics(78.2%). The most common number of cases that the dental clinics demanded payment was between 201 and 400(40.3%). The dental clinics asked an agent to claim payment when the number of payment claim cases was smaller, and they claimed payment by themselves when the number of payment claim cases was larger. Regarding the reason why the dental institutions asked an agent for payment claim, the biggest group(28.0%) cited complicated claim procedure as the reason, and the second largest group(22.6%) answered that they weren't used to doing that. The third greatest group(20.8%) pointed out a shortage of personnels that would be responsible for that as the reason.

Comparing locus of control in orthodontic patients of a university dental hospital with those of a private dental clinic. (치과의원과 대학치과병원 교정환자의 통제소재 특성)

  • Objective: Many factors are considered when a patient chooses the type of dental institution they wish to receive treatment from. Numerous studies have been conducted regarding this issue. However, more research is needed in analyzing the patient's psychological aspects when he/she decides to choose the dental institution they wish to receive treatment from. Methods: A locus of control test was utilized to analyze the psychological aspects in orthodontic patients of a university dental hospital and a private dental clinic. The locus of control test is known to be useful in predicting a human being's behavior. Both intrinsic and extrinsic locus of control tests were carried out in 934 orthodontic patients attending Seoul National University Dental Hospital and 1466 orthodontic patients from a private dental clinic. Results: The orthodontic patients at the university dental hospital showed a stronger extrinsic locus of control compared with those from the private dental clinic. Conclusion: The orthodontic patients at the university dental hospital value the doctor as the authority figure and the treatment quality more than those at the private dental clinic.

Importance and Influence in Factors of Selecting Dental Clinics in Some Regions (일부지역의 치과병·의원 선택요인의 중요도와 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to offer the importance on factors of selecting dental institution according to general characteristics targeting general dental patients, and the information of having important influence upon choosing dental clinic and dental hospital. The survey was carried out from August 2009 to September. As a result of analyzing SAS(ver 9.1), the following conclusions were obtained. In the importance on factors of selecting dental institution according to general characteristics, it was thought to be important in convenience of movement or mobility such as distance, transportation, and parking convenience according to age level. According to final academic background, the importance in a factor of rumor in dental clinic was high(p < 0.05). According to job, the significant difference was shown in rumor of dentistry and parking convenience(p < 0.05). According to income, the factor in the appearance of training a medical specialist was indicated to be statistically higher in the group with over 5 million won than the group with under 2 million won(p < 0.05). Given seeing the distribution of opinion about dental hospitals (comparison with dental clinics), the excellence in the medical staff's ability was indicated to be the highest in all of the factor of influencing the use satisfaction(${\beta}=0.18$), the factor of influencing the recommendation level(${\beta}=0.21$), and the factor of influencing the re-use intention(OR=2.09).

A Study on the Status of Utilization and Criteria for Selection of Medical Care Facilities of Elementary School Children (초등학생들의 의료기관 이용양상 및 선택 기준에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose : The aim of this study is to find out the distribution of illness, patterns of medical care utilization and factors determining medical care utilization in elementary school children. Methods : We performed the questionnaires in Gwangju city on 2,036 children of two elementary schools from June 1 to June 30, 1998. Results : The prevalence rate of illness was 32.3%. The distribution of illness was respiratory disease(64.7%), gastrointestinal disease(12.8%), injury & poisoning. The rate of persons having received medical treatment when they were sick, was 89.8%. The selection distribution among various medical facilities was pediatric hospital(46.7%), otolaryngologic hospital(19.8%), pharmacy (13.2%) and internal medicine in the decreasing frequency sequence. The major factors influencing the selection of medical facility were geographic accessibility and good results. The most common reason for the first visit to the pediatric hospital was geographic accessibility. The most common reason for a visit and to otolaryngologic hospital was a good result. The most frequently utilized medical facility for respiratory symptoms and gastrointestinal symptoms was pediatric hospital. The persons influencing the selection of medical facility in the children were mother(73.3%), father( 10.8%), doctor and others in decreasing sequence. The persons answering the questionaire thought that the optimal age of pediatric care was from 0 to 12 years(47.8%), to 10 years(22.4%) and to 15 years(18.5%) in decreasing rate. Conclusion : Other departments instead of pediatrics have treated children. Children have particular growth and development process, which is different to those of adults. So, it is necessary to choose special medical care and adequate medical facilities for children.
