Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the DISC behavioral type of dental hygienists and their job satisfaction in an effort to provide some information on the efficiency of human-resources management. Methods : The subjects in this study were 278 dental hygienists who worked in dental clinics in Seoul. A self-administered survey was conducted from February 10 to March 30, 2011, and the statistical package SPSS WIN 12.0 was employed to analyze the collected data. Results : As for differences among the dental hygienists in DISC behavioral type according to their general and job-related characteristics, there were statistically significant differences in dominance type according to age, and statistically significant differences were found in steadiness type according to martial status. There were statistically significant differences in conscientiousness type according to career, and statistically significant differences were found in steadiness type according to the daily mean number of outpatients. Concerning differences in job satisfaction according to DISC behavioral type, the group of influence type was most satisfied with the job itself, and those who were of dominance type expressed the best satisfaction with pay. The group of influence type was most satisfied with boss ties, and those who were of influence type expressed the best satisfaction with colleague relationships as well. Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings indicate that in order to ensure the job satisfaction of dental hygienists in terms of human-resources management, both of their DISC behavioral type and job satisfaction should accurately be grasped, which is expected to make a contribution to the efficient human-resources management of dental institutions.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the effect of mentoring function on job satisfaction, organization commitment, and turnover intention in the newly employed dental hygienists. Methods: Two hundred and fourteen dental hygienists in Daegu and Gyeongbuk completed a self-reported questionnaire from January to May 2013. The instrument for the questionnaire consisted of mentoring function, mentoring personality, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The longer duration of the mentoring for the newly employees strengthened job satisfaction and organization commitment. The mentoring function had a positive effect on job satisfaction and organization commitment, and decreased turnover intention. The higher quality of personality overcome the turnover intention. Conclusions: The mentoring is very important to enhance the job satisfaction and organization commitment in the newly employees. Loner duration of work(${\beta}=.268$, p=0.008) explained higher job satisfaction. Higher quality of personality(${\beta}=0.279$, p<0.001) also had higher job satisfaction. The explanation power of the model was 36.5% and the revised model explanation was 35.6%. The effective mentoring is closely related to job satisfaction and organization commitment and it can reduce turnover intention.

Results: The average working environment of the subjects was found to be $3.37{\pm}0.53$ points with the average job satisfaction of the subjects of $3.29{\pm}0.50$ points and the average organizational commitment of the subjects of $3.25{\pm}0.59$ points. As the working conditions of the working environment are higher, it revealed that the higher the working environment, the better the job satisfaction. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study showed that the ability to support managers' abilities, leadership, and dental hygienists is the most influential factor in job satisfaction and organizational involvement. Also, hospital administrators are encouraged to provide excellent work and leadership skills to enhance both the quality of work and that of work ethic.
Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in job satisfaction and turnover intention according to the level of Emotional labor and the mediating effect in dental hygienists. Higher levels of emotional labor resulted in lower levels of job satisfaction, as well as higher levels of turnover intention. We used the logistic regression analysis to compare change of job satisfaction, turnover intention according to the level of emotional labor. In logistic regression analyses, social support was the largest mediating factor between emotional labor and job satisfaction and the odds(Likely to with low job satisfaction) was down by 16% after adjustment for supervisor, colleague. In case of turnover intention, largest mediating factor were drinking, physical condition, supervisor, colleague and the odds(Likely to with high turnover intention) was down by 52% after adjustment for mediating factors. The results of this study were as follows. Emotional labor was negatively impact on job satisfaction and turnover intention. To increase the job satisfaction and lower the turnover intention, it is necessary to do more efforts to improve social support(supervisor and colleague) and management personal factor(drinking, physical condition) for the dental hygienists should be made to reduce such negative effects.
This study examined the spirituality of dental hygiene and students and examined whether it affects the stress that may occur during clinical practice. The research tool consisted, clinical practice stresses, and general characteristics. It was held from March to July 2019 for 280 dental hygienists and students in K area. T-test and ANOVA were conducted for differences in spirituality and clinical practice stress according to general characteristics. The correlation between spirituality and clinical stress was analyzed by Pearson corrlation coefficients. As a result, dental hygiene and clinical practice stress of students were negatively correlated with spirituality, major satisfaction, and academic performance. If the motivation to apply to the department was grade, the clinical practice stress was higher. The limitation of this study is that it is impossible to make a concrete comparison because previous studies on the spirituality of dental hygiene and students are insufficient. Therefore, various studies on spirituality and clinical practice stress for dental hygienists are needed, and strategic search will be needed.

The subjects were 102 male students attended dental hygiene departments at four universities in Seoul, Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do. The survey was completed a self administered questionnaire survey available on a website from September to October 2019. The collected data were analyzed frequency, mean and standard deviation, correlation and logistic regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. The questionnaire consisted of a total of 36 questions, with each item scored on a 5-point Likert scale. The mean score of male students of dental hygiene department major satisfaction was 3.32, department adaptation was 3.48 and career satisfaction was 3.08. The results of the correlation analysis shows that major satisfaction has a statistically significant positive correlation between career satisfaction and departmental adaptation(p<0.01), career satisfaction was a statistically significant positive correlation to the departmental adaptation(p<0.01). As a result of regression analysis with Independent variables such as departmental adaptation(β=0.410) and career satisfaction(β=0.457) were analyzed to have a significant positive effect on the major satisfaction(p<0.001). Accordingly, the department adaptation and job career satisfaction are critical factors for major satisfaction.
The purpose of this study is to determine critical assessments and core competencies, and to determine the competence and discipline of self-assessment. We surveyed 511 students who graduated from 12 universities. Self-efficacy 24 items were measured on a 5-point scale, 8 core competencies and 52 detailed competencies were self - assessed from 0 to a maximum of 10 points. The higher the score, the higher the self - evaluation competency level. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0 Ver., And a statistical significance level of 0.05 was considered. The self - evaluation competency level was the highest at 6.7 points in the clinical dentistry area, and the lowest at the evidence - based decision area of 5.7 points. Self-regulation was found to be positively related to the self-evaluation core competence level among self-efficacy sub-factors. As the students' self-efficacy affects subjective academic achievement and self-evaluation, it is necessary to develop and apply relevant programs to enhance critical thinking in curriculum, apply problem-based learning method, improve self-efficacy and leadership, It should be possible to cultivate.
Objectives : This study was to examine the satisfaction level of participants in a oral exercise program geared toward the improvement of oral function, their reuse intention of the program and their willingness of recommendation in an effort to facilitate the advancement of the program. Methods : The subjects in this study were 85 senior citizens who used senior welfare centers and nursing homes in Seoul. A oral exercise program was implemented 24 times from April to June 2009, twice a week, and the selected elderly people participated in the program 20 times or more. An interview survey was conducted by two trained dental hygienists, and the collected data were analyzed. Results : 1. As for satisfaction level with each part of the program, the elderly people investigated expressed the best satisfaction with the service supplier(a mean of 3.81), followed by the usefulness of the procedure of the program(3.77) and oral exercise(3.64). 2. The satisfaction level with oral exercise had a significant impact on their overall satisfaction with the program, reuse intention and willingness of recommendation, and the entire satisfaction level with the program was correlated to reuse intention and willingness of recommendation(p<0.001). 3. Out of the demographic characteristics, marital status and whether to live with their families or not made a significant difference to their satisfaction level with oral exercise(p<0.05). Conclusions : It took 20 minutes to get oral exercise, which consisted of warming-up, exercise for each part of oral and cooking-down, and they found it appropriate to spend that time and had no difficulties in repeating after the instructor.
Objectives : In this study, the dental treatment satisfaction degree of the patients, who experienced the sleep dental treatment or non-sleep dental treatment, the revisit rate and the differences among the encouraging intention were compared and analyzed, and the primary factors through which the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment has influence on the revisits and the encouraging intention were analyzed, and the proposal was made on clinic management to raise qualitative medical service level on the basis of this study. Methods : The questionnaires filled out by the 202 users of a certain dental clinic located in Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk were analyzed. The frequency analysis and the crosstabulation analysis of the general characteristics of survey participants were carried out, and the satisfaction difference between the sleep dental treatment and the non-sleep dental treatment was identified with the t-test analysis. The multiple regression analysis were carried out to identify the factors through which the sleep dental treatment has influence on the through which the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment has influence on the satisfaction degree of the medical service and the revisited dentists. Results : In the medical service satisfaction degree in general, the sleep dental treatment had the higher meaningful value than the non-sleep dental treatment(p<0.05). In the case of the difference in satisfaction degree on each medical service factor, the satisfaction of the sleep treatment group was high in every case, but the meaningful difference showed up in the factors of waiting time, treatment procedure, revisit and the encouraging intention(p<0.01). The revisit to the sleep treatment dental clinic and the recommending dentist increased in proportion to the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment, and the Beta value appeared to be 0.337 at the influence of the subordinate variable(p<0.001). As for the influence on the sleep dental treatment satisfaction, the Beta value of the dental hygienist was the highest, marking the value at 0.375(p<0.01). As for the satisfaction of the patients who experienced the sleep dental treatment, the Beta value of the treatment fee was the highest, marking 0.352(p<0.001), in the multiple regression analysis of the revisit and the encouraging intention, and the 0.156 of dentist factor and the 0.152 of treatment procedure and waiting time showed lower regression coefficient(p<0.05). Conclusions : It is assumed that the satisfaction degree of sleep dental treatment, which is carried out as a new dental service has influence on the increase of revisit to the dental clinic as an important factor. But it was disclosed that the high level of treatment fee has the biggest influence on choice of revisit to the dental clinic. In the current medical charge system, the sleep dental treatment appeared to have a big influence on raising the quality of dentists, the satisfaction of patients, the revisit and encouraging intention, and also the roles of the dental hygienist was important. It is assumed that these facts are functioning as the factors that are linked to the increase of revisit and the encouraging intention.
