Remote Secure Entrance Control System using RFID and TCP/IP (RFID와 TCp/IP를 활용한 원격 보안 출입 제어 시스템)

  • At present, RFID system is highly welcomed as a substitute system with its bar code recognition system and self recognition equipment. Consequently, the system has multi applications and can be complementing to its security. In particular, RFID system is significantly related with electronic transaction equipments : transportation card, ID card in check point, attendance sheet. Based upon these characteristic, the system is becoming extremely popular in the field of logistics, harbor and stock management, animal control and product circulation & distribution. In this dissertation, I would like to present a more efficient and stable remote entry control system with the network-based TCP/IP. It is a simple example of ubiquitous computing function. Above all, approved protocol system should be applied to the remote entry control function. Its efficient function with the applied approval protocol based-remote entry control system should be confirmed. Therefore, a preliminary test should be prerequisite in automatic entrance function with the embedded and TCP/IP-based RFID system.

  • In the revision of the national curriculum, various creative activities and career activities are highlighted under the goal of fostering creative talent. Following the implementation of this policy, which is represented by creative activities, teachers are burdened with comprehensive responsibilities, such as planning and executing safety procedures and preventing accidents. Existing systems for teacher management had limitations that allowed only the provision of standardized information and management. The main purpose of this study is to help teachers manage their classes systematically through a class management system. The teachers' overall management system includes several functions, such as checking students' locations, registering students' reviews, or registering various kinds of activities for the creative experiential activities of the curriculum. This system not only helps teachers to systematically manage the creative experiential activities, but also allows teachers to share the history of their activities with each other. Furthermore, this system will be helpful in achieving the objectives of the revised curriculum.

A Study on User Interface Enhancement for NEIS School Affairs Business System (교무업무시스템의 사용자 인터페이스 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The current user interface (UI) of NEIS school affairs business system is not efficient in conducting the business because of complicated data input forms as well as unharmonious connection between similar items and functional menu. In the paper, the term UI means a comprehensive concept including input/output, input/output related functionality, and menu configuration for users to perform their tasks. The first survey, carried out with one hundred teachers at three elementary schools of Kyeonggi-do, shows that the UI problems of the system are manual inputs, inconvenient menu configuration, disconnection between academic calendar and educational process, complexities of managing attendance report and curriculum evaluation, etc. We have improved the UI design by providing more efficient input method and more systematic menu configuration compared to the current system, and then evaluated the design through the second survey. Evaluation results show that users prefer the proposed UI design especially from the viewpoint of user-friendly input interface and user-oriented view composition.

  • With the development of sensor networks and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, personalized context information has been collected and customized services can be provided to related users. Currently, the context information system is at the level of analyzing and recognizing user specific behavioral characteristics and generating events.In the IoT environment, IoT products themselves should provide the required services with minimal user intervention, rather than acting for a specific purpose. In this paper, to minimize the user intervention in the IoT environment, we implemented an automatic attendance recognition system using context information from the ECG based on beacon. Environment of provided specific Context information, we compared and analyzed the degree of user intervention among the authentication method using ECG sensor in this paper and the existing authentication method. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed that the system implemented in this paper minimizes user intervention.

  • This paper presents a model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration. First of all, we survey the advanced e-learning systems for foreign and domestic universities. Next we propose the optimal e-learning model based on ubiquitous computing configuration. The proposed e-learning model as following. we propose the e-learning system's hardware and software configurations, that are server and networking systems. Also, we construct the proposed e-learning systems's services. There are attendance and absence service, class management service, common knowledge service, score processing service, facilities management service, personal management service, personal authorization issue management service, campus guide service, lecture-hall management service. Then we propose the laboratory equipment management service, experimental materials management service etc. The proposed model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration will be able to contribute to the next generation university educational paradigm.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide customized information to student which study and live in a university campus. In this study, we collect internal data of campus and external data on the Internet such as the blog or SNS and, then store and process them. After that, we propose a system for providing individual students one-to-one marketing by analyzing these data in detail. This system analyzes purchase history information and the attendance of the building, and then transmits the coupon and information individually according to the pattern to the student's mobile phone.

  • This study analyzed the intention of continuous use of the electronic attendance-absence system. Perceived ease of use, acceptance attitude, and user satisfaction variables were selected to analyze the factors affecting the intention of continuous use. To achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted targeting students who had experience in using the electronic attendance-absence system at K University located in Chungcheongbuk-do. The use environment of the electronic attendance-absence system was non-face-to-face, and the questionnaires answered by 921 students were analyzed. The study results are as follows. First, perceived ease of use and acceptance of the electronic attendance-absence system were found to have a positive effect on user satisfaction. Second, it was found that the learner's perceptual ease, acceptance attitude, and user satisfaction for the electronic attendance-absence system had a positive effect on the intention of continuous use. This study is meaningful in that it identified the intention of continuous use based on the experience of the electronic attendance-absence system in a non-face-to-face environment.

  • Due to the development of private education and changes in the educational environment, the need for an academy management system is emerging for various tasks of academy management in the community and mobile environment with students. However, solutions developed for existing academy tasks, such as attendance management for students, announcement, and instructor management to sponsors, are specialized and specialized in large academy, making it difficult to use in small and medium-sized academy. Also, there are problems that are not suitable for most academy and cannot reflect various requirements of institutes because of the high cost. In order to solve these problems, this paper designed a B2M-based academy management system that can quickly improve information processing, improve credibility, and reduce the cost of processing tasks based on optimized functions such as academic administration and manager management, attendance management, and student management.

BLE-OTP Authorization Mechanism for iBeacon Network Security (iBeacon 네트워크 보안을 위한 BLE-OTP 인증 메커니즘)

  • Machine to Machine (M2M) technology has gained attention due to the fast diffusion of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and smart devices. Most wireless network experts believe that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Communications technology in an iBeacon network has amazing advantages in terms of providing communication services at a low cost in smartphone applications. Specifically, BLE does not require any pairing process during its communication phases, so it is possible to send a message to any node without incurring additional transmissions costs if they are within the BLE communication range. However, BLE does not require any security verification during communication, so it has weak security. Therefore, a security authorization process would be necessary to obtain customer confidence. To provide security functions for iBeacon, we think that the iBeacon Message Encryption process and a Decryption (Authorization) process should be designed and implemented. We therefore propose the BLE message Authorization Mechanism based on a One Time Password Algorithm (BLE-OTP). The effectiveness of our mechanism is evaluated by conducting a performance test on an attendance system based on BLE-OTP.
