Growth and Yield of Strawberry $(Fragaria\;\times\;ananassa\;Duchesne)$ 'Nyoho' and Salt Accumulation in PE Film House Soil as Affected by Fertilization Program (시비방법이 무기염의 토양집적과 딸기 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was conducted to determine the effect of fertilization programs on crop growth, nutrient uptake and yield of strawberry and salt accumulation in PE film house soil. To achieve these, experiments were conducted through two years with various fertilization program such as traditional fertilization(A), recommended fertilization of Rural development administration (B), Tochigi prefectural experiment station (C) and Nonsan strawberry experiment station (D), and control (E). In 1st year, statistical differences in growth characteristics were not observed among treatments except (E). Yield per 10 was the highest in (D) followed by (A), (B), (C) and (E) and there was the statistical difference between (D) and (E). In the 2nd year experiment, growth characteristics and yield showed similar trends to those of 1st year experiment. In the results of soil analysis of 2nd year, the soil pH of all treatments were in the acceptable range, while electrical conductivity of (A) and (D) were 2.36 and 2.19 %$dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$, respectively. After finishing of strawberry cultivation, nitrate concentration in soil solution of (A) and (D) were 74.6 and 65.0%$mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and Na in those were 3.71 and 3.53 $cmol+kg^{-1}$, respectively. Above results indicated that (A) and (D) were good fertilization program for strawberry cultivation, but those also resulted in accumulation of $NO_{3-}N$ and Na in PE house soil.

A Research on Perception of Oral Health Behavior among High School Students in Some Areas (일부지역 고등학생의 구강건강행위에 관한 인식조사)

  • In this study a survey was conducted with tenth, eleventh, and twelfth-graders in some academic and vocational high schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and South Chungcheong Province from April 3 to 30, 2009; then, 600 questionnaires returned were analyzed, obtaining the following results. It was found that there were some differences in subjective perception and behavior among some high school students by school type (p<0.001). This suggests the need to make systematic programs within curricula for oral health education and prevention programs that practically help to improve oral health.

Mathematically Gifted 6th Grade Students' Proof Ability for a Geometric Problem (초등학교 6학년 수학영재들의 기하 과제 증명 능력에 관한 사례 분석)

  • This study examined the proof levels and understanding of constituents of proving by three mathematically gifted 6th grade korean students, who belonged to the highest 1% in elementary school, through observation and interviews on the problem-solving process in relation to constructing a rectangle of which area equals the sum of two other rectangles. We assigned the students with Clairaut's geometric problems and analyzed their proof levels and their difficulties in thinking related to the understanding of constituents of proving. Analysis of data was made based on the proof level suggested by Waring (2000) and the constituents of proving presented by Galbraith(1981), Dreyfus & Hadas(1987), Seo(1999). As a result, we found out that the students recognized the meaning and necessity of proof, and they peformed some geometric proofs if only they had teacher's proper intervention.

Rapid Measurement of VOC Using an Analysis of Soil-Gas (Soil-Gas의 분석을 이용한 휘발성 유기화합물 오염도 신속측정)

  • This paper presents soil-gas surveying technique to delineate an area contaminated with volatile organic compounds, which are common solvents and constituents of gasoline. The sampling method of soil-gas surveying is 1) grab sampling, which actively takes sample using a pump, or 2) passive sampling, which takes sample through diffusion in a trap filled with absorbent. The grab sampling shows the level of contamination at a certain location at a certain time, while the passive sampling shows the change in the contamination at a certain location. The analysis of soil gas can be performed with 1) a small portable detectors such as PID (photoionization detector) or FID (flame-ionization detector) to measure the total hydrocarbon in the soil gas, 2) a gas detector tube, which is filled with indicator reagents and changes its color with concentrations of the gas of interest, or 3) a portable GC (gas chromatograph), which can analyze different compounds simultaneously. The soil-gas surveying technique is a much less expensive method to investigate area contaminated volatile organic compounds and thus can be used as a screening tool to identify an area, which needs to be further investigated.

  • This paper presents a methodology for estimating average travel speed using volume and occupancy data from single magnetic loop detectors for signalized arterials. Three methods were developed and evaluated using field data: VPLUSKO method, fuzzy control method, and neural network method. While the VPLUSKO method is easy to apply, it results poor performances compared to other methods. The neural network method showed the best performances among the candidate methods. This method revealed the weakness in transferability, however. From limited cases of field test, it was concluded that the method of the fuzzy control application showed reasonable performance of estimation. It was also demonstrated that the fuzzy control method has the capability of transferability.

  • Keeping in line with the recent changes in the information technology environment, the online learning environment that supports multiple users' participation such as MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) has become important. One of the largest professional associations in Information Technology, IEEE Computer Society, announced that "Supporting New Learning Styles" is a crucial trend in 2014. Popular MOOC services, CourseRa and edX, have continued to build active learning environment with a large number of lectures accessible anywhere using smart devices, and have been used by an increasing number of users. In addition, collaborative web services (e.g., blogs and Wikipedia) also support the creation of various user-uploaded learning materials, resulting in a vast amount of new lectures and learning materials being created every day in the online space. However, it is difficult for an online educational system to keep a learner' motivation as learning occurs remotely, with limited capability to share knowledge among the learners. Thus, it is essential to understand which materials are needed for each learner and how to motivate learners to actively participate in online learning system. To overcome these issues, leveraging the constructivism theory and collective intelligence, we have developed a social bookmarking system called WeStudy, which supports learning material sharing among the users and provides personalized learning material recommendations. Constructivism theory argues that knowledge is being constructed while learners interact with the world. Collective intelligence can be separated into two types: (1) collaborative collective intelligence, which can be built on the basis of direct collaboration among the participants (e.g., Wikipedia), and (2) integrative collective intelligence, which produces new forms of knowledge by combining independent and distributed information through highly advanced technologies and algorithms (e.g., Google PageRank, Recommender systems). Recommender system, one of the examples of integrative collective intelligence, is to utilize online activities of the users and recommend what users may be interested in. Our system included both collaborative collective intelligence functions and integrative collective intelligence functions. We analyzed well-known Web services based on collective intelligence such as Wikipedia, Slideshare, and Videolectures to identify main design factors that support collective intelligence. Based on this analysis, in addition to sharing online resources through social bookmarking, we selected three essential functions for our system: 1) multimodal visualization of learning materials through two forms (e.g., list and graph), 2) personalized recommendation of learning materials, and 3) explicit designation of learners of their interest. After developing web-based WeStudy system, we conducted usability testing through the heuristic evaluation method that included seven heuristic indices: features and functionality, cognitive page, navigation, search and filtering, control and feedback, forms, context and text. We recruited 10 experts who majored in Human Computer Interaction and worked in the same field, and requested both quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the system. The evaluation results show that, relative to the other functions evaluated, the list/graph page produced higher scores on all indices except for contexts & text. In case of contexts & text, learning material page produced the best score, compared with the other functions. In general, the explicit designation of learners of their interests, one of the distinctive functions, received lower scores on all usability indices because of its unfamiliar functionality to the users. In summary, the evaluation results show that our system has achieved high usability with good performance with some minor issues, which need to be fully addressed before the public release of the system to large-scale users. The study findings provide practical guidelines for the design and development of various systems that utilize collective intelligence.

  • 최근 공공안전 분야에서는 국민의 위험상황을 분석하여 선제적으로 예측을 하여 국민의 안전을 보장하기 위한 요구사항이 대두대고 있다. 또한 스마트폰 및 스마트워치와 같은 고성능 모바일 단말 기기들의 대중화로 인해 해당 기기들에 부착된 다양한 센서 데이터들을 융복합하여 분석할 경우, 수집한 센서 데이터의 잠재적 가치를 안전보장 측면에서 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 대인, 대물, 장소에 해당하는 로그 데이터들을 융복합 분석하여 보호대상자의 안전을 지원하는 다중로그 플랫폼 기반 이동경로 분석 기법을 제안한다. 다중로그 플랫폼에서 수집하는 보호대상자의 이동 경로 궤적을 활용하여 과거에 축적된 이동경로 패턴과 비교를 통해 현재 경로가 평소에 이용하던 경로와의 유사도를 추천하게 된다. 해당 이동 경로 분석 시스템은 위치기반 멀티모달 센서 데이터를 융복합 하여 보호대상자의 안전을 보장하는데 기여 할 것으로 예상된다.

  • 최근 정보검색의 효율성을 위해 데이터를 분석하여 해당 데이터를 가장 잘 나타내는 연관단어를 추출 및 추천하는 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 현재 관련 연구들은 출현 빈도수를 사용하는 방법이나 LDA와 같은 기계학습 기법을 활용해 데이터를 분석하여 연관단어를 생성하는 방법을 제안하고 있다. 기계학습 기법은 결과 값을 찾는데 사용되는 특징들을 전문가가 직접 설계해야 하며 좋은 결과를 내는 적절한 특징을 찾을 때까지 많은 시간이 필요하다. 또한, 파라미터들을 직접 설정해야 하므로 많은 시간과 노력을 필요로 한다는 단점을 지닌다. 이러한 기계학습 기법의 단점을 극복하기 위해 인공신경망을 다층구조로 배치하여 데이터를 분석하는 딥러닝이 최근 각광받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 기계학습 기법을 사용하는 연관단어 추출연구의 한계점을 극복하기 위해 딥러닝을 활용한다. 먼저, 인공신경망 기반 단어 벡터 생성기인 Word2Vec를 사용하여 다양한 텍스트 데이터들을 학습하고 룩업 테이블을 생성한다. 그 후, 생성된 룩업 테이블을 바탕으로 인공신경망의 한 종류인 합성곱 신경망을 활용하여 사용자가 입력한 주제어와 관련된 최근 뉴스데이터를 분석한 후, 주제별 최신 연관단어를 추출하는 시스템을 제안한다. 또한 제안한 시스템을 통해 생성된 연관단어의 정확률을 측정하여 성능을 평가하였다.

Noise influence and Measures of Noise Sources of Thermal Power Sites on Neighborhood Residence Area located in Wide Flatland (발전소로부터 방해물이 없는 주변지역에 대한 소음영향 및 대책)

  • 1000MW급 증설과 관련하여 발전소 주변지역으로부터 민원이 제기된 3000MW급 화력발전소는 넓은 평지에 위치하여 발전소의 영향이 그대로 주변지역에 전달되는 상태임에도 일상 소음레벨이 환경 기준치를 만족하는 상태였으나 향후 증설에 따른 소음도 증가에 대비하여 소음영향을 예측하고 저감 대책을 검토하였다. 대형 화력발전소의 옥외소음원은 Booster fan, I.D.fan, 주변압기, 대형 철탑, 해수순환수 펌프 전동기, 증기방출관 등이 있다. 대상 주거지역의 경우는 대형팬에 의한 지향성이 크게 나타났다. 따라서, 발전소가 주변지역에 주는 소음별 기여도를 평가하고 영향이 큰 대형팬에 대한 대책으로써 기기주변에 방음벽을 설치하는 방안과 함께 소음원의 크기를 저감시킬 수 있는 소음기 대책을 추천하여 증설 예정호기를 비롯한 기존 호기중 주거지역에 영향이 큰 3000MW에 대하여 수립함으로써 소음저감 목표치를 달성하는 결과를 도출하였다.
