Design Procedure of the Inverter for LCD Backlight using Piezoelectric Transformer (압전 변압기를 이용한 LCD 백라이트 구동용 인버터 설계 절차)

  • Optimal parameters were selected to design an inverter circuit that drives a cold cathode fluorescent lamp for LCD backlight using a piezoelectric transformer and it was verified by an experiment. In this paper, the applied inverter topologies are a push-pull type and a half-bridge type, and the dimming control methods of these drive system were used a analog control method and a burst control method each other. When change a control voltage from 2.5V to 4.5V in the analog control method, the brightness 0-100% was seen in current 1-6 mA. And, the input/output efficiency were obtained 90.3%. Also, the control performance of 1-6 mA was seen in duty ratio 5-50% in the burst control method, and the input/output efficiency of the designed inverter got 82.1%.

A study on the Optimum Design Configuration of Passive Solar TI-wall system (투명단열재가 적용된 축열벽 시스템의 최적구성 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the thermal performance through Test-Cell of TI-wall in domestic climate. This study was carried out as follows: 1) The TI-wall was studied for ability to reduce heat loss through the building envelope and analyzed to TIM properties. 2) Test models of TI-wall were designed through the investigation of previous paper and work, measured for winter and spring, and the thermal effects were analyzed. The type of the TIM used in test model is small-celled(diameter 4mm and thickness 50mm) capillary and cement brick(density $1500kg/m^3$) was used by thermal mass. 3) Test-cell of TI-wall was calibrated from measured data and the dynamic simulation program ESP-r 9.0. In these simulations, the measured climate conditions of TaeJon were used as outdoor conditions, and the simulation model of Test-cell was developed. 4) The sensitivity analysis is executed in various aspects with standard weather files and ESP-r 9.0, and then most suitable system of TI-wall are predicted. Finally, The suitable system of TI-wall was analysed according to sizes of air gap, kinds, thickness, and the surface absorption of therm wall. The result is following. In TI-wall, Concrete is better than cement brick, at that time the surface absorption is 95%, and the most efficient thickness is 250mm. As smaller of a air gap, as reducer of convection heat loss, it is efficient for heating energy. However, ensuring of a air gap at least more than 50mm is desirable for natural ventilation in Summer.

Research of Remote Inspection Method for River Bridge using Sonar and visual system (수중초음파와 광학영상의 하이브리드 시스템을 이용한 교각 수중부 원격점검 기법 연구)

  • This study applied SONAR(Sound Navigation And Ranging) to the inspection and evaluation of underwater structures. Anactual river bridge was chosen for inspection and evaluation. SONAR and an optical camera were operated together to analyze the underwater image of the bridge. SONAR images were obtained by various methods to remove the environmental variables from the field experiment, and it was confirmed that the reliability of detecting damaged areas on piers was decreased when using SONAR alone. The SONAR equipment and the optical camera can be used simultaneously to overcome the limitations of SONAR in inspecting underwater structures.These results can be used as basic data for the development of similar technologies for underwater structure inspection.

Korean Compound Noun Decomposition and Semantic Tagging System using User-Word Intelligent Network (U-WIN을 이용한 한국어 복합명사 분해 및 의미태깅 시스템)

  • We propose a Korean compound noun semantic tagging system using statistical compound noun decomposition and semantic relation information extracted from a lexical semantic network(U-WIN) and dictionary definitions. The system consists of three phases including compound noun decomposition, semantic constraint, and semantic tagging. In compound noun decomposition, best candidates are selected using noun location frequencies extracted from a Sejong corpus, and re-decomposes noun for semantic constraint and restores foreign nouns. The semantic constraints phase finds possible semantic combinations by using origin information in dictionary and Naive Bayes Classifier, in order to decrease the computation time and increase the accuracy of semantic tagging. The semantic tagging phase calculates the semantic similarity between decomposed nouns and decides the semantic tags. We have constructed 40,717 experimental compound nouns data set from Standard Korean Language Dictionary, which consists of more than 3 characters and is semantically tagged. From the experiments, the accuracy of compound noun decomposition is 99.26%, and the accuracy of semantic tagging is 95.38% respectively.

Optimization of GEO-KOMPSAT-2 Apogee Engine Burn Plan (정지궤도복합위성 원지점엔진 분사계획 최적화 연구)

  • GEO-KOMPSAT-2A and GEO-KOMPSAT-2B are under development by KARI to replace the COMS mission, and will be launched in 2018 and 2019, respectively. GEO-KOMPSAT-2 will be launched and injected into the GTO (Geostationary Transfer Orbit) by the Ariane V launcher. Once injected into the GTO, the satellites are transferred to the drift orbit by applying a series of apogee engine burns. The burn epoch time, duration, and intervals are selected such that the satellite is placed closest to the target drift longitude, or at the drift start longitude. For GEO-KOMPSAT-2, four or five LAE (Liquid Apogee Engine) burns will be applied for drift orbit injection. This paper establishes the GEO-KOMPSAT-2 LAE burn plan, considering predefined constraints and adjustments, taking into account the perturbing forces. Two approaches have been analyzed: the first is a single shot approach, whereas the other is an iteration based optimal solution. Optimal solution has been obtained using the Focusleop, a geostationary satellite LEOP tool.

  • Polymer substrate materials with low dielectric loss were obtained by fabricating the composite using dicyclopentadienyl bisphenol cyanate ester oligomer and polyphenylene ether (PPE). From the analysis of the curing reaction of oligomer and catalyst, it was observed that the optimum amount of catalyst was 0.02 phr of Zn content. It was applied to the fabrication of polymer composite. By changing oligomer/PPE weight ratio, the peel strength and the gel content of the fabricated composites were measured, and then, the dielectric constant and the dissipation factor were measured in the GHz frequency range. The amount of PPE affected the peel strength and the dielectric properties of composites. However, the amount of catalyst did not affect them at all. Resulting from all experiments, we obtained polymer composite laminates haying the peel strength of above 1 kN/m and the low dissipation factor of 0.004 at 1 GHz.

A Study on the Prediction of the Optimal Welding Condition for Automotive Steel Sheets in MAG Welding Process (자동차용 강판의 MAG 용접시 최적용접조건 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The optimization of the welding parameters was studied to maximize the weldability and minimize the amount of spatter in the MAG welding of automotive steel sheets under different shielding gas composition ratio. JS-EFSC, JS-SPHC steel plates and Ar mixture gases were used as a substrate and shielding gas for welding respectively. The five welding parameters were selected through preliminary experiments and their effects on the weldability were analyzed. Experiments were performed using the Taguchi experimental method. As results, appropriate range for welding could be achieved. Amount of spatter in 80%Ar+20%$CO_2$ shielding gas was 20% of that of $CO_2$welding. Therefore, in terms of high productivity and welding cost, Ar mixture gas(80%Ar+20%$CO_2$) was recommended as a shielding gas for application of MAG process, indicating the low spatter and good weld quality.

Biopolishing of Cotton Fabric using Crude Cellulases from Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 (목재부후균, Acanthophysium sp. KMF001, 유래 섬유소분해효소를 이용한 섬유 개량)

  • Biopolishing using cellulases was introduced in the production of cotton fabric in order to improve the quality of fabric environmental friendly and is commonly used in the textile industry. In this study, the application of a crude cellulase from Acanthophysium sp. KMF001, which was excellent for the saccharification of cellulose, on biopolishing was evaluated. The optimum treatment biopolishing condition was at $50^{\circ}C$ and pH 4.5 for 60 minutes with 10% crude cellulase of fabric weight. After the optimized biopolishing, the crude cellulase of Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 reduced the tensile strength of the tested cotton fabric less than a commercial cellulase. The appearance of the cotton fabric after the treatment of the crude cellulase of Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 was similar to the fabric after a commercial cellulase treatment. All these results support that the crude cellulase of Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 was a good biopolishing cellulase.

Simulation of Various Baffle to Improve Settling Efficiency in Constructed Wetland using CFD (인공습지의 비용 효율적 초기 침강지 설계를 위한 최적 도류벽 구조 모의)

  • In this study, the removal efficiency of the wetland in terms of particulate matter and dead water zone through the application of baffles in the sedimentation were simulated with the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to determine the design of a cost-effective constructed wetland. As a result, it was analyzed that the application of the baffle in the sedimentation tank affect the flow and sedimentation rate. Fine particles such as $2{\mu}m$ and $5{\mu}m$ showed high sedimentation rate when the baffles are installed horizontally. large particles such as $10{\mu}m$ and $20{\mu}m$ showed also high deposition rate when the baffles are installed vertically. In addition, the vertical baffles is considered to be more efficient than other baffle types in terms of maintenance since the particulate matter are concentrated in narrow areas. Therefore, it is considered that the selection of the most applicable type of baffle depends on the design purpose of the wetland to be constructed.

Flood Control Effects by Water Transfer in Parallel Reservoirs (유역변경방식에 의한 병렬저수지 시스템의 홍수조절효과)

  • 본 연구는 인접한 저수지 간의 연계운영을 통해 홍수조절능력을 제고시키기 위한 저수용량 공유기법 개발의 일환으로서 안동댐과 임하댐의 병렬저수지 시스템을 연구대상유역으로 선정하였다. 홍수조절에 의한 병렬저수지의 연계운영기법으로서 홍수시 임하댐의 저수량을 안동댐으로 전환시켜 임하댐의 홍수조절능력을 제고시키고 안동댐의 저수량을 확보하여 용수공급능력을 제고시킬 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. 임하댐의 유입량 중 안동댐으로 전환되는 유량비를 최적화계수 a로 두고 재현기간별로 유량전환비를 산정한 결과 최적화계수로 제안한 유량전환비 a는 재현기간 T=50년일 때 $a_{50}=0.310$, T=80년일 때 $a_{80}=0.185$, T=100년일 때 $a_{100}=0.130$, T=150년일 때 $a_{150}=0.035$로 산정되었으며, T=200년일때는 유량전환에 의한 홍수조절 효과가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 계산결과는 홍수규모가 클 경우에 안동댐 저수량(위) 증가로 인하여 임하댐의 유량전환비가 감소하기 때문임을 알 수 있었으며, 그 유량전환비가 거의 0이 될 경우는 홍수규모가 재현기간 T=200년 빈도 이상에서 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이로 인한 홍수조절효과는 임하댐의 경우 재현기간 T=50년 일 때 4.1%, T=80년일 때 2.8%, T=100년일 때 2.1% 및 T=150년일 때 0.7%로 증가한 것으로 나타났으며, 안동댐의 경우 재현기간 T=50년일 때 14.4%, T=80년일 때 8.6%, T=100년일 때 6.0% 및 T=150년일 때 1.6%로 증가한 것으로 분석되었다.
