A Practical Approximation Method for TSP (외판원문제(TSP)를 위한 실용적인 근사해법)

  • TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem) has been a nagging NP-complete problem to test almost every algorithmic idea in combinatorial optimization in vain. The main bottleneck is how to get the integer results {0,1} and to avoid sub-tours. We suggest simple and practical method in two steps. Firstly for every node, an initial Hamiltonian cycle us produced on the nearest neighbour concept. The node with nearest distance is to be inserted to form a increased feasible cycle. Secondly we improve the initial solution by exchanging 2 cuts of the grand tours. We got practical results within 1 from the optimum in 30 minutes for up to 200 nodes problems. TSP of real world type might be tackled practically in our formulation.

A Study on the Revision of the National Fire Safety Codes of Sprinkler System (스프링클러설비 화재안전기준 개정에 대한 고찰)

  • This paper suggested to revise unreasonable national fire safety codes of sprinkler system. Also proposed to modify the definition of "the gridded sprinkler system" and to add "the feed main" in terms of the definition of the pipes. In order to operate the regulations of discharge pressure of the sprinkler head efficiently, this paper checked the minimum criteria of pressure and flow for the pipe schedule sprinkler system of NFPA 13 and suggested to establish the similar minimum demand criteria. It proposed to be amended properly the pressure calculation formular in the pressure tank system and to use the correct K value due to change in pressure unit and to use the [bar] as a unit of pressure for the sake of using the existing K-factor etc.

  • Objectives : The goal of this paper is to enhance the percentage of linkages between an acupuncture point ontology and an acupuncture treatment ontology. Methods : Terms of the effect from acupuncture points and terms of the treatment method from diseases are selected in the ontologies. We have disassembled the terms into minimum meaning units and then linked them again. Results : By linking terms of the effect and terms of the treatment method, the meaninful information on the acupuncture point and treatment ontology is increased. Conclusions : The links between points for acupuncture points and treatment methods for diseases could improve the information in the ontologies. This also enables the knowledge representation for the use of acupuncture points with accompanied symptoms, causes of disease, and treatment methods.

Application of Artificial Neural Network to the Estimation of Mass Conversion Rate in Weathered Granite Soils (화강암 풍화토의 토량 변화율 추정을 위한 인공신경망 적용)

  • 본 연구에서는 전국 4개 지구의 화강암 풍화토를 연구대상으로 현장 및 실내시험을 수행하고 토량 변화율을 노상과 노체에 대하여 결정하였다. 그리고, 본 연구에서는 인공 신경망 중 오류 역전파 학습 알고리즘을 도입하여 토량 변화율 C 값을 추정하고 신경망의 적용성에 대한 검증을 수행하였다. 화강암 풍화토에 대한 실내 및 현장시험 결과에서 얻어진 토량 변화율 C 값은 노상과 노체 구분 없이 최소 0.7에서 최대 1.2정도의 넓은 범위로 나타났다. 토지공사에서 제안하는 C값의 산정식과 본 연구 결과를 비교한 결과, 토지공사의 산정식에 의한 결과가 과대 평가될 가능성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 비중, 자연 함수비, 자연상태의 습윤단위중량, #200 통과율 그리고 균등계수의 입력변수를 갖는 $I_{5-1}$$H_{30-30}$$O_1$의 신경망에서 다른 신경망 구조들보다 잦은 지역 최소점에 수렴하는 결과를 보였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 모든 신경망 구조에서 시험결과와 신경망 결과의 상관계수는 0.9이상으로 나타나 높은 상관성을 나타내었다. 특히, 인공 신경망에 의한 예측결과는 다양한 영향인자들 중에서 비중, 자연 함수비, 자연상태의 습윤단위중량 그리고 #200 통과율의 4개 변수만으로도 C값을 예측할 수 있었으며, 상관계수는 0.96으로 나타났다.다.

  • The construction project is composed of individual trade which is consists of each activity. and the performance of each activity is the lowest level to influence the project performance. Consequently, It is essential to measure and evaluate the performance of the each assignment. But the existing performance measurement have mainly focussed on company level and project level. Therefore, this paper select PPC as the indicator of a activity and, suggests the analysis method of indicators for a goal-oriented management and continuous improvement through a statistical control techniques.

  • This paper proposes a new minimal resource high-level synthesis algorithm for low power design automation. The proposed algorithm executes an efficient approach to minimize the power consumption of the functional units in a circuit during the high level synthesis. In this paper, we visit all control steps one by one to reduce the switching activity in CDFG. The register sharing algorithm determines the minimum register after the life time analysis of all variable. According to property of input signal for functional unit, the proposed method visits all control step one by one and determines the resource allocation with minimal power consumption at each control step in a greedy fashion. The effect of the proposed algorithm has been proved through various filter benchmark to adopt a new scheduling and allocation algorithm considering the low rover.

  • In this paper we present approximated constrained least squares filter for real-time directionally adaptive image restoration. The proposed method makes a hardware implementation easier for real-time image restoration because of reducing the filter size. Furthermore, for directional adaptive image restoration, this paper estimates the local orientation by analyzing the covariance matrix and applies to approximated constrained least squares filter. Experimental results show that the proposed method is sharper and less artifacts than existing methods.

Application of Pay Adjustment Regulation for Highway Flexible Pavements (도로 포장의 초기상태에 따른 공사비 차등지급규정의 시험적용)

  • Recently, pay adjustment regulation (PAR) has been developed to induce better performing road pavements around the country. This regulation was successfully applied during rehabilitation of highway flexible pavements for the first time, and their results are the focus of this paper. For highway pavements, a lot has been defined by typical amount of works a day. This lot was further divided into several sublots depending on field conditions. According to AASHTO Quality Assurance Guide Specification, pay factors for each lot were statistically determined with field measurements of five performance indicators. And composite pay factors were calculated by accounting for the impact of individual performance indicators on a long-term performance of pavement. In 2008, the PAR was tested with asphalt overlays conducted at all six local headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation. Also, concerns raised during implementation are discussed in this paper. Limited data used in this study showed that if all performance indicators fall within the construction limits with less variances final construction costs may increase by 50%, whereas 10% reduction in construction costs could be necessary if key performance indicators such as density do not meet the construction quality requirements.

  • Currently, in the mix design of high strength concrete, cement content depend on the target slump which is fixed with tests. However this cause high content cement use because it is based on the mix design of normal strength concrete. Also, comparatively high content cement might decrease the durability of the concrete. Therefore, in this study, we investigated proper cement content satisfying durability, workability, compressive strength, and reviewed use of admixtures, proper sand-aggregate ratio to the cement content. The results indicate that cement content ranging $370{\sim}550kg/m^3$ did not affect the compressive strength. The field workers should consider durability, workability as well as compressive strength for determining the optimal cement content in the mix design of the high strength concrete.

Efficient Construction of Large Scale Steiner Tree using Polynomial-Time Approximation Scheme (PTAS를 이용한 대형 스타이너 트리의 효과적인 구성)

  • By introducing additional nodes called Steiner points, the problem of Steiner Minimum Tree whose length can be shorter than Minimum Spanning Tree and which connects all input terminal nodes belongs to Non-Polynomial Complete domain. Though diverse heuristic methods can be applied to the problem, most of them may meet serious pains in computing and waiting for a solution of the problem with numerous input nodes. For numerous input nodes, an efficient PTAS approximation method producing candidate unit steiner trees with portals in most bottom layer, merging them hierarchically to construct their parent steiner trees in upper layer and building swiftly final approximation Steiner tree in most top layer is suggested in this paper. The experiment with 16,000 input nodes and designed 16 unit areas in most bottom layer shows 85.4% execution time improvement in serial processing and 98.9% in parallel processing comparing with pure Steiner heuristic method, though 0.24% overhead of tree length. Therefore, the suggested PTAS Steiner tree method can have a wide range applications to build a large scale approximation Steiner tree quickly.
