A study on the Development of General-Purpose Multimedia Processor Architecture (범용 멀티미디어 프로세서 구조 개발에 관한 연구)

  • 멀티미디어 데이터를 아날로그 방식보다는 디지털 방식으로 처리하게 되면 여러 면에서 이득을 볼 수 있다. 멀티미디어 데이터를 디지털 방식으로 처리하는 방법 중 범용프로세서에서 멀티미디어 명령어에 의해 처리하게 되면 flexibility를 증가시키며 효율적으로 프로그램할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 범용 프로세서 안에서 멀티미디어 데이터를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 명령어 집합 구조와 이를 수행할 수 있는 프로세서의 구조를 제안하고 이를 HDL(Hardware Description Language)로 동작레벨에서 기술하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 제안된 멀티미디어 명령어는 특성에 따라 8개의 그룹에 총 55개의 명령어로 구성되며 64비트 데이터 안에서 각각 8비트의 8바이트, 16비트의 4하프워드, 32비트의 2워드의 부워드(subword) 데이터들을 병렬 처리한다. 모델링된 프로세서는 오픈아키텍쳐(Open Architecture)인 SPARC V.9 의 정수연산장치(Integer Unit)에 기반을 두었으며 하바드 구조를 지닌 5단 파이프라인 RISC 형태이다.

  • 휴대용 컴퓨팅이 발전해 나가면서 무선 네트워킹이 등장하게 되었다. 유선 네트워크의 케이블로부터 자유로워지면서 사용자들은 장소의 제약을 덜 받으며 네트워크와 인터넷의 다양한 서비스를 받는 것이 가능해졌다. 무선 네트웍킹 환경이 나날이 발전함에 따라 무선 네트워킹에 관련된 여러 가지 기술이 발표되어왔다. 이들 중 가장 대표적인 것이 바로 무선 랜과 Bluetooth이다. 본 논문에서는 Bluetooth륵 이용한 무선망에 있는 PC와 유선망에 위치한 PC와의 통신을 가능케 하는 어플리케이션의 구현을 통하여 무선망과 유선망간의 데이터 교환 방법을 보였다. 구현된 프로그램은 총 3개로 구성되어 있다. 유선망에 연결되어있지 않은 PC에는 Bluetooth module이 부착되어있고, Bluetooth gateway는 유선망에 연결되어 있으며 Bluetooth module이 부착되어있다. Bluetooth gateway와 유선망의 PC와는 ethernet을 통하여 데이터를 주고받도록 구현하였다. 본 연구에서는 유선망과 무선망을 중계할 게이트웨이를 애플리케이션 레벨에서 분리(split) 방식을 이용하여 구현하였다.

A Minimized Test Pattern Generation Method for Ground Bounce Effect and Delay Fault Detection (그라운드 바운스 영향과 지연고장을 위한 최소화된 테스트 패턴 생성 기법)

  • An efficient board-level interconnect test algorithm is proposed considering both the ground bounce effect and the delay fault detection. The proposed algorithm is capable of IEEE 1149.1 interconnect test, negative ground bounce effect prevention, and also detects delay faults as well. The number of final test pattern set is not much different with the previous method, even our method enables to detect the delay faults in addition to the abilities the previous method guarantees.

  • 최근 게임 산업에서는 게임을 인공지능적인 측면으로 접근하는 방식 중 하나로 인공감정을 주목하고 있다. 인공감정은 감정자극과 감정, 그리고 감정의 표현 방식이라는 총 3가지 기본요소로 이루어져 있다. 본 연구에서는 인공감정을 사람들에게 꾸준하게 인지도가 상승하고 있는 캐주얼 게임에 적용시켜 보았다. 캐주얼 게임은 다른 게임들에 비해 게임 속에서 감정을 느낄 수 있는 환경요소가 한정적이고, 표현할 수 있는 감정이 적어 인공감정에 대한 플레이어의 반응을 실험하기에 적합한 게임 장르이다. 본 연구에서는 쉽게 제작 가능한 버튼 클릭 방식의 캐주얼 게임을 만들었다. 그리고 게임에 플레이어의 행동을 통해 감정적 영향을 받는 인공감정이 적용된 게임 에이전트를 제작했다.

A Numerical Study to Estimate the Lateral Responses of Steel Moment Frames Using Strain Data (변형률 데이터를 이용한 철골모멘트골조의 횡응답 예측을 위한 해석적 연구)

  • In this study, the method to predict the lateral response by using strain data is presented on the steel moment frame. For this, the reliability of the proposed method by applying the example of five-story frame structure were verified. Using the strain value of columns, it predicted the lateral response of structure. It is assumed that all of four strain sensors for one column set up and the strain responses of both end of the column are utilized. The lateral response of member is calculated by using the slope deflection method. Also, using the acceleration response of the one layer, the stiffness of the rotation spring located in the supporting point is predicted. As a result, it was effective to understand the lateral displacement and acceleration responses and to predict local damage and location.

Exploratory Approach of Social Gameplay Behavior Pattern : Case Study of World of Warcrafts (소셜 게임플레이 행동패턴의 탐색적 접근 : World of Warcrafts를 중심으로)

  • The objective of this research is to discover the rule of gameplay related to the task interdependence to analyse the behavior pattern of social gameplay. Previous literatures related to the gameplay were reviewed and game which was suitable for the gameplay of the task interdependence was selected. A party-play includes a team of five people in the experiment during the gameplay with think-aloud method and video/audio data about action protocol and verbal report were collected. The video observation and protocol analysis were conducted to analyse data. The objective coding scheme were developed from consolidated sequence model task analysis. The player's behavior was analysed. The result was revealed that four rules and four modified rules were included into the total eight behavior pattern. A behavior graph integrated with five gameplay was written. The excellent cooperative spot and error and failure place could be identified. The social gameplay behavior graph is expected to be the key practical design guideline on whether the level design and balance design are proper.

Bearing Multi-Faults Detection of an Induction Motor using Acoustic Emission Signals and Texture Analysis (음향 방출 신호와 질감 분석을 이용한 유도전동기의 베어링 복합 결함 검출)

  • This paper proposes a fault detection method utilizing converted images of acoustic emission signals and texture analysis for identifying bearing's multi-faults which frequently occur in an induction motor. The proposed method analyzes three texture features from the converted images of multi-faults: multi-faults image's entropy, homogeneity, and energy. These extracted features are then used as inputs of a fuzzy-ARTMAP to identify each multi-fault including outer-inner, inner-roller, and outer-roller. The experimental results using ten times trials indicate that the proposed method achieves 100% accuracy in the fault classification.

  • Four river project in the South Korea contributes to solve flood damages and water shortages. Also, it has purpose for creating water ecosystem and improving the level of people' cultural leisure and quality of life through inducing water quality improvement and river restoration. It is necessary to monitor a variety of observing data in river areas among dozens to hundreds of kilometer for safe river administration. The 20th construction area of the four river project is located on Hapcheon areas, where wireless mesh network was installed to manage the basin. In the process of network construction, the characteristic of surrounding areas is considered about embodying secure service by investing the least expense. Besides, transmission environment analysis is performed such as LOS tests and reception level analysis, and transmission speed measurement to create safe service. Reception level in all places is confirmed among -55 dBm ~ -70 dBm, and data transmission speed proves more than 20 Mbps.

  • Excore Nuclear Flux Monitoring System in Nuclear Power Plant monitors continuous reactor power up to maximum 200%. The monitoring method, however, has to be different depending on the reactor power level. Because the logarithmic pulse signals must be counted and processed exactly due to large uncertainty if their levels are low, on the other hand, they must be processed through statistical methodolgies if theirs are high to get exact monitoring values, in point of thermal degradation view. Therefore, we developed thermal degradation input signal selection circuit to transfer low level reactor power monitoring circuit to high level reactor power circuit at rated value in this paper. We proved their validities through testing them using real data used in nuclear power plant and analyzed their results. And, These methods will be used to measure the neutron level of excore nuclear flux monitoring system in nuclear power plant.

Optimized Spectrum Pooling by Inventory Model (인벤토리모델을 이용한 스펙트럼풀링 최적화)

  • Recently, many research efforts have paid attention to spectrum pooling meshanism that provides efficient way to manage transient spectrum requests of secondary users in cognitive radio networks. Spectrum pooling is maintained by WSP (wireless service provider). WSP leases the spectrums stored in her spectrum pool to secondary users with being paid for it. It is natural that WSP tries to get profits as much as possible, which implies the WSP tries to minimize the cost required for maintaining her spectrum pool. In this paper, we model the spectrum pool into a probabilistic inventory model. Assuming secondary users' spectrum requests follow normal distribution, we give a strategic way that minimizes the maintenance cost of the spectrum pool. By a series of simulations, we show that WSP can reduce the total maintenance cost through our inventory model-based spectrum pooling than maintaining fixed inventory level.
