  • The Ministry of National Defense aims to create an environment in which transparent and reasonable defense policies can be implemented in real time by establishing the vision of smart defense innovation based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and promoting innovation in technology-based defense operation systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) based defense technology is at the level of basic research worldwide, includes no domestic tasks, and involves classified military operation data and command control/decision information. Further, it is needed to secure independent technologies specialized for our military. In the army, military power continues to decline due to aging and declining population. In addition, it is expected that there will be more than 500,000 units should be managed simultaneously, to recognize the battle situation in real time on the future battlefields. Such a complex battlefield, command decisions will be limited by the experience and expertise of individual commanders. Accordingly, the study of AI core technologies supporting real-time combat command is actively pursued at home and abroad. It is necessary to strengthen future defense capabilities by identifying potential threats that commanders are likely to miss, improving the viability of the combat system, ensuring smart commanders always win conflicts and providing reasonable AI digital staff based on data science. This paper describes the recent research trends in AI military staff technology supporting commander decision-making, broken down into five key areas.

  • The Army is making efforts to increase combat power by incorporating technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution into the field of defense. In order to utilize these technologies, it is necessary to develop a military tactical communication system that enables transmission and reception of data between command and control system and weapon systems. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the tactical communication systems of the other countries, derive the limitations of the tactical communication system currently operating in the military. And, a multi-layered integrated operation structure centered on satellites and plans to provide communication on the move to small units are reviewed. Then, we present the necessity of a large-capacity transmission speed by predicting the amount of data that will be generated from weapon systems of the future, and a plan to efficiently manage the network using intelligent network technology.

  • The number of megacities are increasing, due to the global urbanization. Along with this change, climate change, social development and technology advance make the calamities complicated and more devastating. Especially, megacities are hyper-netted, hyper-connected and hyper-converged with population more than 10 million and their domain. When calamities break out, the damage will be aggravated for they lead to another ones. Since megacities are the center of politics, economics and culture of a nation. so when complex disaster break out in megacities, this may be developed to a peril to the national security. Therefore, pan-government effort must be concentrated in preparing abilities to forecast, react, rapid response and resilience.

  • The fourth industrial revolution can be called the hyper-connected-based intelligent revolution triggered by advanced information technology and intelligent technology, and the basis for implementing these technologies is 'data'. This study proposes a way to strategically use data in order to lead this intelligent revolution in the defense area. First of all, implications through analysis of domestic and international trends and prior research and current status of defense data management were analyzed, and four directions for development were presented. If the government composes conditions for building, releasing, sharing, distribution, and convergence of defense data considering the environment of national defense in the future, it is expected that it will serve as a foundation and a shortcut to be a digitalized strong military through smart defense innovation in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

  • Development of 5th generation mobile telecommunication technology is visualizing ideal hyper-connected social information and communication technology (ICT). In particular, virtual reality (VR) technology is at the starting point for new expansion and leaps. This work defines virtual reality as media in this context and collects and analyzes discourse on its scalability around space and communication theory. We first elaborated the concept, starting with the early discussions of the virtual reality concept in 1990, and discussed the relationship between the physical world and digital information, expression and interaction immersion as a medium, simulation, art creation theory, and finally evolutionary development. In conclusion, beyond the discourse on the technology of virtual reality, academic subjects were required to have theoretical frameworks on cognitive science, neuroscience, social science, and humanities issues (ethics, personality, etc.) for the development and evolution of virtual reality. In other words, it is time for the evolution of virtual reality to be discussed, which can be moved beyond.

  • Today, in the era of the 4th industrial revolution based on the paradigm of hyper-connectivity, super-intelligence, and superconvergence, the remote work environment is becoming central based on technologies such as mobile, cloud, and big data. This remote work environment has been accelerated by the demand for non-face-to-face due to COVID-19. Since the remote work environment can perform various tasks by accessing services and resources anytime and anywhere, it has increased work efficiency, but has caused a problem of incapacitating the traditional boundary-based network security model by making the internal and external boundaries ambiguous. In this paper, we propse a method to improve the limitations of the traditional boundary-oriented security strategy by building a security model centered on core components and their relationships based on the zero trust idea that all actions that occur in the network beyond the concept of the boundary are not trusted.

  • Recently, service based on internet is inter-connected and integrated with a variety of connection. This kind of internet of things consist of heterogenous devices such as sensor node, devices and end-to end equipment which used in conventional protocols and services. The representative system is healthcare system. From healthcare appliance used by IoT, patient and doctor can utilize healthcare information with safety and high speed management. It is very convenient management to operate mobility. But it induced security and vulnerability issues because it has small memory capacity, low power supply and low computing power. This made impossible to implement security algorithm with embedded engine based on hardware. Nowdays, we can't realize conventional standard algorithm due to these kinds of reasons. From the critical issues, it occurred security and vulnerability issues. Therefore, we analysed and compared with conventional method and proposed techniques. Finally, we evaluated security issues and requirement for end-to-end point healthcare system based on internet of things.

  • With the development of artificial intelligence, a wave of the 4th industrial revolution is taking place around the world. With the technologies such as big data and Internet of Things-based artificial intelligence, we are heading to a hyper-connected society where everything converges into one. Accordingly as educational talents in the era of artificial intelligence, we are pursuing the cultivation of creative convergence-type talents and emotional creative talents. With human creativity and emotion at the center, we should be able to collaborate with artificial intelligence and create new things by converging knowledge in various fields. By developing a program that combines humanities-oriented Korean language with engineering-oriented artificial intelligence, this research attempted to help students experience solving problems creatively by combining humanistic knowledge with engineering thinking skills. The educational program consists of two kinds of contents(i.e., "Books with AI" and "A Play with AI") and 15 classes that provide students with opportunities to solve humanities problems with artificial intelligence.

  • Newly, the fourth industrial revolution is a way of describing the blurring of boundaries between the physical, digital, and biological worlds. It's a fusion of advances in AI (artificial intelligence), robotics, the IoT (Internet of Things), 3d printing, genetic engineering, quantum computing, and other technologies. At the world economic forum in Davos, switzerland, in january 2016, chairman professor klaus schwab proposed the fourth industrial revolution for the first time. In order to apply the AHP (analytic hierarchy process) analysis method, the first stage factors were designed as Natural, Water, Earth and Atom energy. In addition, the second stage factors were organized into 9 detailed energies presented in the conceptual model. Thus, we present the theoretical and practical implications of these results.

  • The importance of data in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, a hyper-connected society based on information technology such as data and AI, is increasing, and the government is actively enacting and revising laws to revitalize the data economy. It is necessary to prevent and improve problems that may set an obstacle to the revitalization of the data industry or setting the wrong direction, such as possibility of conflict between the regulatory law(Personal Information Protection Act) and the Data Activation Act, differences in position by type of specialized agencies, performance scope of Data Specialist Organization and Expert Data Combination Agency, etc. In regard, I would like to analyze the role, current situation, and use cases of Expert Data Combination Agency, listen to field opinions, and derive and introduce measures to expand the role of Expert Data Combination Agency and improve them to vitalize the data economy
