사각패턴으로 구축된 초소형 공장의 디지털 조립 시뮬레이션 (Digital Assembly Simulation of Micro Factory Constructed with Rectangular Pattern)

  • In recent years, most of the researchers have been working on micro system manufacturing technological environment. With this international trend and one of the key researches in Korea, this paper gives the keynote on manufacturing the micro-scaled part with digital micro factory and its simulation. In order to construct and estimate reconfigurable simulation time, the digital simulation has been performed for the micro factory and for ultra small machines. From simulation result we came to know that micro factory requires less work-in space and processing time to manufacture micro-scaled part with different environment.

초소형 공작 기계를 이용한 Micro/Meso 가공 (A Study on the Micro/Meso Machining Using Micro Machine)

  • After the micro turning lathe was developed in the last year by AMR Laboratory in Yeungnam university, a micromilling machine is developed for micro/meso machining. This machine is integrated with PZT-driven micro-sliders, micro-linear encoders, aerostatic spindle which has maximum 150,000 rpm. It is applicable to milling and drilling of micro scale. This paper presents the possibility of micro/meso machining and characteristics of micro end milling process by using micro machine. A machining of micro parts using 0.2 mm flat end mill was achieved by micro-milling machine. Experimental results show the machining capability and positional accuracy of this machine is good enough for machining micro parts.

  • In this paper, the digital model of the micro-factory has been established, inspected and evaluated by progress of assembly, manipulation and examination. The new paradigm of the system analysis is realized by digital simulation of the factory. The digital manufacturing system of the micro-factory was simulated through UML(Unified Modeling Language) with the object-oriented logical model analysis method and then the micro lens module assembly system was simulated with MST(Micro System Technology) Application Module.

  • In this paper, a new air bearing stage with magnetic preload and a linear motor has been developed for the small precision machine systems. The new air bearing stage is unique in the sense that permanent magnets attached bottom of the iron core of table are used not only for preloading air bearings in vertical direction but also for generating thrust force by current of the coil at base. The characteristics of air bearings using porous pads were analyzed with numerical method, and the magnetic circuit model was derived for linear motor for calculating required preload force and thrust force. A prototype of single axis miniature stage with size of $120(W){\times}120(L){\times}50(H)\;mm^3$ was designed and fabricated and examined its performances, vertical stiffness, load capacity, thrust force and positioning resolution.

As experimental results show the machining capability and positional accuracy of this machine is good enough for machining micro parts.

피에조 이송기구를 이용한 초소형 선반 (A Micro Turning Lathe Using Piezo Feed Driver)

  • Micro-machine tool is essential in the micro/meso cutting for the sake of saving of space, resources, and energy. In this research, a micro-turning lathe was fabricated with piezoelectric feed drive mechanism, and motion of each axis was generated by stepwise mechanism with two piezo actuators. The resolution to drive the axis was $0.05{\mu}m$ and position accuracy less than $2{\mu}m$ was assured. From the positioning experiment, piezo feed mechanism is good enough for the micro machine tools. Many fuming experiments were carried out with diamond-cutting tools to evaluate cutting capability of a machine tool. Continuous flow type chip could be obtained even if the cutting speed was very low due to small diameter of workpiece. However, thorough investigation about machineability in micro/meso cutting is inevitable to assure high quality surface roughness in micro machine tool.
