The subjects of this study were 180 elementary school students from multi-cultural families and general families. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in self-concept and career development within two groups and the correlations between self-concept and career development. Also, it was to investigate the self-concept's effects on career development. The results were as follows: First, the children from general families showed higher academic-occupational exploration than those in multi-cultural families. Second, the self-concept had significant correlations with career development in both groups. And there were stronger correlations in children from multi-cultural families. Third, the regression analyses of two groups showed that academic self-concept had significant effects on career development in both groups, but there were higher effects in children from multi-cultural families.

This study empirically analyzed between the use hours and the emotional intelligence of elementary school students and also, analyzed between the exercise time and the emotional intelligence of elementary school students. As a result of the regression analysis, the smart devices using time of elementary school students impact on the emotional intelligence of elementary school students. We also concluded there is no relationship between the exercise time and emotional intelligence of elementary school in the regression analysis. It seems that additional research is needed, existing studies and obtained different results for sports activities and emotional intelligence in the future.

This study examined the aspects in elementary school students' career interest and career awareness by gender, age, and multi-cultural families/general families. The subjects were 341 elementary school students from multi-cultural families and general families. The results were as follows. First, there were significant differences in investigative, artistic, and social interests by gender. The children from multi-cultural families and general families showed no significant differences in career interest. Second, the children from general families had higher scores than those from multi-cultural families in self-awareness, occupational exploration, career attitude, and career awareness. And the girls had higher scores than boys in self-awareness, occupational exploration, and career awareness. Third, there were meaningful differences in career interest and career awareness by age. The younger children had higher scores in career interest and lower scores in career awareness. Fourth, the career interests had significant correlations with career awareness in both groups. And there were stronger correlations in general children. Fifth, the regression analyses showed that career interests had significant effects on career awareness in both groups, and there were higher effects in general children. The artistic interests in multi-cultural children and the social interest in general children had significant effects on career awareness. And the effect of multi-cultural families/general families was noticeable in occupational exploration, career attitude, and career awareness. The implication for multi-cultural career education and counseling practice are discussed based on the result of the present study.

In this study, we analyzed the perceptions of elementary school students about science learning and lab safety in the affective, behavioral, and cognitive domains. With respect to science learning, students indicated liking science classes more than average, being good at scientific inquiry more than average, and having more scientific knowledge than average. Compared with before the COVID-19 pandemic, student confidence in retaining scientific knowledge had decreased markedly. Of the eight student types in the students' awareness levels about affective·behavioral·cognitive domain, the HHH type-the most ideal-was also the most distributed. Students' preferred science class methods were experimental (72.7%) and nature inquiry classes (23.2%); science knowledge classes were ranked a distant third (4.1%). Preferred class locations were the science lab (58.1%) and different places from time to time (34.4%); the classroom was ranked last (7.5%). With respect to lab safety, most elementary school students did not have experimental classes, but more than half reported understanding how to use experimental equipment. Most students recognized the need to wear safety equipment in the lab. They were not only well aware of the associated physical protection functions, but also of the affective and psychological effects. Most students also recognized that first aid education is necessary, but only 31.5% reported understanding first aid methods. Based on those results, the implications for science learning and lab safety in school are discussed.

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 컴퓨터 이용 실태를 분석하여 정보통신 윤리교육에 보다 나은 방향을 제시하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 제시하여 연구하였다. 첫째, 초등학생의 컴퓨터 이용 실태는 어떠한가? 둘째, 초등학생의 인터넷 이용과 대화방 사용실태는 어떠한가? 셋째, 초등학생의 불법 복제와 정보통신 윤리 실태는 어떠한가? 위와 같은 연구문제를 해결하기 위해 인천광역시 서구 지역에 있는 초등학교 학생들에게 설문지를 배부하여 응답하도록 하였으며 그 설문자료를 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 이와 같은 분석 결과를 토대로 결론을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 컴퓨터 이용시간 및 컴퓨터를 이용하여 주로 하는 일을 살펴보면 컴퓨터 이용 시간의 적절한 조절 능력과 컴퓨터 활용 능력의 배양이 필요하다. 둘째, 건전한 인터넷 문화를 이룰 수 있도록 지도해야 한다. 셋째, 개인의 인격이 존중되듯이 개인의 사생활도 보호되어야 한다. 넷째, 불건전 사이트에 대한 의식은 대다수의 초등학생들이 부정적인 견해를 견지하고 있다. 따라서 보다 나은 인터넷 서핑을 위해서는 아동들로 하여금 불건전 사이트에 대한 접속을 차단할 수 있는 여러 가지 방법을 모색하고 지도를 통해 불건전 사이트에 접속하지 않도록 하는 교육이 실시되도록 하여야 한다.

The purposes of this study were to develop vocational cards for elementary school children as a useful means to be applicable to elementary career counseling, to carry out a career counseling program by using vocational cards, and ultimately to determine the effect of the program on the career maturity of elementary schoolers. After job selection criteria were prepared in light of the characteristics of different occupations, changing business world and school children, how many number of vocational cards would be suitable for elementary schoolers was decided, and leading occupations were selected according to Holland classification in consideration of promising job list for the future, analysis of schoolbook and dream job among school children. And then what should be described on vocational card was determined, and their size was selected. Students who participated in the career counseling program based on vocational cards were significantly different in career maturity from others who didn't. To improve the reliability of quantitative approach, the students were asked to describe how they felt, and they made a positive assessment of the program as they found it to be interesting and of use for their understanding of themselves and business world. In conclusion, the vocational card for elementary middle-year students developed in this study catered to the career development stage of elementary schoolers, and the career counseling program using the vocational cards had a positive effect on enhancing the career maturity of children.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of career education utilizing vocational cards for school children on the career development of the male and female in elementary school who were in the career awareness stage, which was the rudimentary career development stage. The subjects in this study were 32(15 boys and 17 girls) students in one of seven fifth-grade classes in 'Angolpo' elementary school located in the city of J, South Gyeong-sang Province. Career education was provided to them by employing vocational cards for school children in six sessions for three weeks, twice a week, 40 to 45 minutes each. The major findings of the study were as follows; (l)the career education that utilized vocational cards for school children had a positive effect on developing the career development of the elementary schoolers. (2)the career education that utilized vocational cards for school children had a positive effect on developing the career development of the elementary school boys. (3)the career education that utilized vocational cards for school children had a positive effect on developing the career development of the elementary school girls. The above-mentioned findings illustrated that the career education utilizing vocational cards for school children was effective at stepping up the career development of the male and female in elementary school.

컴퓨터와 인터넷의 보급은 생활과 의식을 빠른 속도로 변화시키고 있다. 이 중 인터넷은 이용 인구가 증가하면서 인터넷 중독이 사회적 이슈로 등장하게 되었고, 점차 인터넷 이용 연령이 낮아지고 있다. 이러한 우려는 초등학생에게 까지 미치게 되었는데 초등학생의 경우 인터넷 이용률이 다른 연령대에 비해 가장 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있다. 초등학생은 인격형성의 과정에 있기 때문에 최근 인터넷의 부정적 측면에 대한 우려의 목소리가 커지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 초등학생의 인터넷 중독 실태와 인터넷 중독에 영향을 주는 요인을 알아보기 위해 경남 고성지역 6학년 초등학생을 중심으로 한국정보문화진흥원에서 개발한 인터넷 중독 자가진단 척도(K-척도)를 이용하여 그 실태를 밝히고자 한다.

The use of ICT impacts positive effects on increasing scholarship achievement levels and on developing creativity, including teamworks, critical thinking skill, independence in learning and motivation of leaners. The purpose of this paper is to survey and analyze a competence for digital literacy of an elementary school pupils in Gyeongsangnam-do, and to compare the competence of the pupils with the competence of the pupils in Seoul. The results suggest that Gyeongsangnam-do's pupils have had the highest competence for social & cultural literacy and the lowest competence for information & technology literacy among three literacy. We also conclude that there is no a significant disparity between the competence of pupils in both regions.

The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of emotion on friend relationship and school life satisfaction of elementary school students attended dance program in school sports club. With questionaires, 350 participants surveyed attended dance program in school sports club. First, the emotion of elementary school students attended dance program in school sports club influenced on friend relationship significantly. Second, the emotion of elementary school students attended dance program in school sports club influenced on school life satisfaction significantly. Third, the friend relationship of elementary school students attended dance program in school sports club influenced on school life satisfaction.
