We implemented two fast PC clusters using fast PCs and high speed network. First. we built the first generation of 16 PC cluster and have used it for real-time operation at Cheju Regional Meteorological Office. Next, we built the second generation of 16PC with dual CUs cluster which was efficiently improved based on performance analysis of the first generation of cluster. In this research we also analyzed performance of two different clusters, which have different CPUs and communication devices using the parallel model MM5 which has been used for the real-time weather forecasting.

Increasing popularity of WLAN and advancement of WPAN allow user to connect to the Internet easily today. The increasing of number of networking mobile device such as laptop and PDA requires computing devices to share high speed Internet line or work on networks in most cases. This has stimulated the demand of access point that supports multiple network interfaces. This paper describes the process of design, implementation and test of the wired/wireless integrated access point that supports multiple network interfaces such as wired LAN, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, and Broadband network. We designed and developed the hardware system and protocol software to integrate heterogeneous network. The system has shown compatibility with standard specification and good performance through testing with various network devices.

초고속 네트워크가 점점 일반화됨에 따라 네트워크를 기반으로 하는 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 요구도 점점 확대되고 있으며, 동시에 보다 실감 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 기대 역시 커지고 있다. 입체음향 기술은 음향 부분의 실감성을 향상시키는 방법으로, 네트워크 참여자들의 가상현실 환경 공유 상황에서 체감 품질을 보다 더 향상시키는 역할을 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 입체음향 기능들을 네트워크를 통해 전달하고 활용하는데 필요한 요소에 대해 논의하고 그 처리 방법을 제시한다. 아울러 제시한 방법을 적용할 수 있는 활용 분야에 대해서 다룬다.

초고속 인터넷 접속 기술의 급속한 발전은 액세스 네트워크 장비 운용 측면에서는 그 복잡성이 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있으며, 또한 원활한 고속 접속서비스를 제공하기 위하여 장비들은 점차로 고객 접점에 가까운 곳으로 전진배치되고 있다. 이로 인해 고객은 장비에 대한 체계적인 관리를 못하고 있는 실정이며, 서비스제공자는 원격지에 설치된 장비의 예고 없는 시스템 장애에 대한 능동적이고 빠른 대응을 하기 위한 시스템 운용 효율화 및 합리화 방안을 모색하고 있다. 원격제어기술은 전문가 집단에서의 중앙집중식 관리 및 자동화가 가능하고, 물리적으로 멀리 떨어져 있는 장비에 대해서도 원격에서 접근하여 운용관리할 수 있어 위의 요구를 충족할 수 있는 기술로 각광받고 있다. 이 논문에서는 서비스제공자 입장에서, 네트워크 인프라의 안정화 및 성능에 대한 고객의 요구를 충분히 수용하면서 동시에 네트워크 장비의 효율적이고 합리적인 운용을 할 수 있는 원격제어 기술에 대해 상술하고 이를 수행한 결과에 대해 논술하였다. 또한 원격제어의 수행 후 평가를 통해 기술 도입의 효과를 살펴보고 향후의 원격제어 기술의 진화모델에 대해 알아보았다.

정보화가 발달할수록 데이터량은 증가한다. 21세기 정보화 시대가 말그대로 정보의 홍수속에 살게 될 것이다. 지금은 영상미디어 시대이다. 초고속인터넷시대는 향후 처리해야 할 정보가 단순 텍스트 데이터가 아니라 정보의 관리에 어려움을 가져왔다. 또한 인터넷이란 새로운 실시간 데이터 관리가 필요한 상황에서 고객의 어려움도 커져가고 있다. SAN(Storage Area Network)과 NAS(Network Attached Storage)는 가상화스토리지 전문기업 뿐만 아니라 이종 업체에서의 제안이다. 즉 NAS를 정의하는 방향도 다르다. 우선 서버 어플라이언스로 보는 업체로는 컴팩, IBM의 x시리즈, 마이크로테스트, 액시스 등이 있으며, IBM, 씬, EMC, 네트워크 어플리이언스, 히타치데이터시스템 등 전통적인 가상화스토리지 업체는 이를 가상화스토리지 네트워크의 한 아키텍처로 보고 있다. 이외에 맥스터, 퀸텀 등의 HDD업체들은 이를 네트워크에 연결할 수 있는 하드디스크로 보고 있다. 또한 네트워크 장비 업체인 3Com, 넷기어 등의 NAS제품을 보이는데 국내업체는 전무한 편이다. 예전에 우리가 포기한 고부가가 가치제품인 서버 스토리지 분야를 놓치면, 결코 국민소득 $2{\sim}3$만불 타령을 해야 아무런 소용도 없고 선진국에 기술 종속만 될 뿐이다. 그러므로 우리가 IT강국이라고 하는 데는 반성을 하여야 한다.

In this paper, we present a development of IP addresstranslator for virtual group network service and an application to Korea Information Infrastructure Pilot projects in Daeduk Science town network, This method can be a way to provide network service for limited virtual groups which are connected to a specialized network. Also this can be used to provide a new network environment for closed user groups in Intranet applications.

IT기술의 급속한 발달과 초고속망을 통한 인터넷 보급에 이어 이동 통신 또한 국민의 대부분이 사용하고 있다. 이에 우리나라는 홈 네트웨크 시스템 기반이 이미 준비가 되어 있고 홈 네트워크 시장의 미래는 상당히 밝을 것으로 전망된다. 본 논문에서는 홈 네트워크 환경에서 무선 센서 네트워크를 이용해 홈 네트워크 서비스를 제공하기 위한 홈 게이트웨이를 설계 및 구현한다.

최근 정보통신 서비스의 제공 영역은 댁내로 그 초점이 맞추어지고 있다. 특히 우리나라 거주 환경은 주로 아파트 등에 의한 공동주택이므로 초고속 정보통신 서비스를 댁내로 효과적으로 유입하려면 이에 적합한 연계 시설이 이루어져야 한다. 최근의 통신기술은 나날이 발전하고 있어 기존의 전화망 설비를 기반으로 하더라도 새로운 네트워크 구성 방식이 요구되고 있기 때문에 댁내(공동주택 구내)의 통신설비 또한 새로운 양상으로 진화되고 있다. 이러한 댁내통신설비의 수용을 위하여는 그 확보 공간과 최적의 운용을 위한 환경이 마련되어야 한다. 본 논문에서 다루고자 하는 내용은 댁내통신설비의 설치 공간과 운용환경 중에서도 특히 운용환경에 대한 것으로서 위와 같은 새로운 초고속통신망 서비스 수용을 원활히 이룰 수 있도록 기존의 열악한 환경을 개선하고 적절한 환경 기준 또는 표준을 마련하기 위하여 댁내통신설비와 관련된 국제표준 중심의 각종 기준들을 분석하고 이에 더하여 실제의 공동주택 현장에서의 실태를 조사 분석하여 그 개선 방안을 절충함으로써 앞으로의 댁내통신설비 기술의 발전 추세에 발맞추고자 한 것이다.

The importance of networking capability is gaining more weight for enterprise business and high-speed Internet access with guaranteed security management is essential to companies. This paper presents a unified network security management solution to support high-speed Internet access, active security management, traffic classification and control. The presented system provides firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, contents filtering, traffic management, QoS management, and history log functions in unified manner implemented in a single appliance device located at the edge of enterprise networks. This will enable cost effective unified network security solution to companies.

This paper proposes the implementation plan of information network for an E-Navigation. Firstly, It configures to the network system based on E-Navigation information network using information and communication technology. And then, it builds on the total port network and tuning up the maritime traffic support system. It will expect to the efficiency through information network between ship to ship related pen operator. Building of information network for the E-Navigation, it is to build on the wireless internet infrastructure for the port logistics and traffic safety.
