A motion-based sports game uses a motion sensor or a camera to exercise based on body movements, and it is possible to obtain exercise effects such as improving physical strength while enjoying the game. In prior works, various studies such as usability evaluation has been conducted on motion-based sports games. However, there has been no discussion about how the exercise effect is exerted on users when experiencing motion-based sports games as individual or team play. This study compared the user's exercise effects by analyzing the user's ECG (Electrocardiogram) sensor and the Kinect sensor's skeletal information using Nintendo Switch game that is played individually and as a team. In this paper, the experimental design and method, the quantitative measurement results based on ECG and Kinect, and the results of the post-test subjective measurement are discussed.

This study investigates the relationship between muscular strengths and gait characteristics of the elderly. Totally, 107 subjects, aged 65 to 85 years, participated in this study. Researchers measured muscle strengths (grip force, toe grip force, gluteus medius, and gluteus maximus forces) and walking characteristics (walking speed, cadence, step length, single leg support, and double legs support). Dynamometers and inertial measurement unit-based shoe systems were used for measuring muscular strength and gait characteristics, respectively. No significant difference was observed in strengths and walking characteristics between the young elders (YE, 65-74 years) and the old elders (OE, 75-85 years). For each age, muscular strength significantly correlated with some gait parameters. Forces of gluteus medius and gluteus maximus muscles showed better significant correlations between some gait parameters for all age groups, as compared to grip force and toe grip force. Regression coefficients between walking speed and grip force did not vary with age. We conclude that muscular strengths in OE better explained the gait characteristics than in YE subjects. Even though grip strength is an easily measured variable for senior fitness test, forces of gluteus medius and gluteus maximus muscles are more meaningful for understanding the walking characteristics of elderly people.
In 2026, in ten years from now, Korea is expected to enter into a super aged society. By facing this social phenomenon, analyzing the elderlies and preparing measures are needed among society. In the transportation field, the traffic accidents which are related to the elderly pedestrians have drastically increased so that R&D projects and policy supplementations are introduced. However very few base studies on which focused on the behavior, capability, impact factors analysis of for elderly pedestrians are conducted. To determine the walking capability, this study divided the walking capability into 3 three categories - general, health and exercise. It carries out the comprehensive survey targeting 52 elderlies with the average age of 72.6 years and this survey is made up of total 12 factors in the 3 three categories. This survey also is conducted with various measuring devices and methods such as interview, National Fitness Award, SPBB, Cybex and the like for. From the 12 detailed factors, the general factors such as age, physical shape and so forth have little impact on the walking speed. However the factors that have the greatest impact on the walking speed are extensor muscle on lower limbs in the health factors and balance, coordination, and SPPB in the exercise factors. With these results, this study develops the independent walking model which can measure the walking capability of the elderly people. The developed model is expected to be utilized as the base study for elderly's walking patterns in the transportation field by examining the walking capability of the older people.
The goal of this research was to search for an optimum training program that increases archery performance skills in order to develop a performance training and support. For this research, by examining the existing sports statistics program, information management system, and other related documents, we were able to derive an athlete management realm as well as find archer factors. Also through a council we categorized the factors that constituted the training general management. The archery training general management system consists of six realms. First is the log-in and main screen realm. Second is the athlete information category. Third, the point of impact information category. Fourth, the shift-in-frequency analysis realm. Fifth, in the detailed analysis realm. Thus, the developed archery training general management system allows for a more generalized and scientific athlete management and support system. and it has turned out to be an adequate system for archer's performance.

For the study, 366 copies of questionnaire were distributed among and collected from Korean women in their 20s to 60s between April and May 2016. To investigate the utility of anti-oxidant beers that contain extracts of natural substance respectively, the anti-oxidantive activity were measured and preference for anti-oxidant craft beers was surveyed among the subjects. The result suggested that the subjects had positive perception toward drinking, Korean adult women highly prefer beer among different types of alcoholic beverage, and the form of drinking changed according to the stamina, mood, situation, place, and company. Also, natural substance extracts showed high levels of antioxidant effects and, in the survey on preference for craft beers, the aronia group scored higher than other groups. The findings in this study suggest, for Korean adult women, beer with anti-oxidant ingredients can be beneficial for skin and overall health. Also, the findings can be used as basic data related to drinking among adult women and development of anti-oxidant beer. The Journal of Digital Policy & Management. In most sports, a key evaluator of athletic performance is sprinting speed. There are two trainable factors associated with speed including mechanical efficiency and force production. The squat exercise is one of the beneficial exercises implemented to enhance lower extremity power for sprinters. However, there has been little research on the optimal exercise intensity for sprinting performance. This study was to investigate whether performing different squat exercises prior to a 40m sprint would improve running speed. Ten male high school sprinters performed six 40m sprints following the different squat intensities (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90% of 1RM). A one-way ANOVA with repeated measures revealed that 40m sprint times had significantly improved after 50% ($5.27{\pm}0.13$, p<0.0001) and 70% ($5.26{\pm}0.15$, p<0.0001) of 1RM squat exercises compared to sprint times not following a squat % ($5.33{\pm}0.16$). Performing squat exercises with intensities of 50% and 70% of 1RM may improve 40m sprint times. Therefore, it is suggested that coaches and sprinters could include a medium intensity squat exercise (70%) in the warm-up procedure in order to improve sprint performance.

The purpose of this study is to statistically summarize the effect sizes using meta-analysis of various Kigong programs implemented on the subject of physical health of the elderly. Including 23 academic journal studies and 11 thesis studies reported domestically until 2016, a total of 34 studies were selected and analyzed to verify the effect sizes of programs, program types, measuring variables, and activity elements. The findings are as follows. First, it was found that the programs were midium effective with overall average effect size showing .748(p<.001). A program of Tai-Chi indicated the largest effect size of .836(p<.001). In terms of measuring variables, physical strength showed the largest effect size of .806(p<.001). In terms of gender by group, it was found that groups consisting only of men indicated the largest effect size of 2.388(p<.001). As for effect size by group of disease state, normal group with showed the highest effect size of .804(p<.001). Second, in activity elements, 31~60 by the group size has the largest effect size of .873(p<.001), total number of sessions for 31~40 sessions indicated the largest effect value of .829(p<.001). As for number of sessions per week, 5 sessions showed largest effect value of .918(p<.001), in terms of activity time, 50 minutes showed large effect value of 1.391(p<.001). As summarized above, Kigong programs are midium effective for physical health of the elderly, as an activity elements to consider when configuring the program, for group size 31~60, 31~40 sessions in total, 5 sessions per week and 50 minutes per sessions were recommended.
The purpose of this study is to know the effects on school lunch service programme of elementary school in rural area, by using the group consisting of the sixth year students in the schools that have provided them with the lunch for six years or longer(male student:312, & female student:324), while using the comparing group consisting of the sixth year students in the schools that have not provided them with the school lunch under their similar living condition(male student: 306 & female student:322). In addition, this study was carried out by examining all continued information about their height and weight shown in the developmetal record for six years from the 1st to 6th year, and by checking their eating habits on the basis of questionnaires. The result of this study is summarized as follows. As the result of comparing the values of their height and weight grown for 6 years, it was shown that the height of the male group provided with school lunch is 27.8 cm while the male group without lunch is 27.1 cm. And the female group provided with school lunch indicated the growing value of 29.9 cm while the group without lunch did 28.4 cm. Then, it appeared that both male and female groups provided with school lunch show higher growing values of 0.7 cm, respectively, and 1.5 cm than these groups without lunch. Also, the weight of the group without lunch was 14.8 kg. Moreover, the weight of the female group provided with school lunch was 16.9 kg while the group without lunch was 17.2 kg. Then, it was shown that the male group provided with school lunch indicates heavier growing value of 0.9 kg than the group without lunch while the female group without lunch does heavier value of 0.3 kg than the group provided with school lunch. It's figure showed that although this distribution according to percentile in the 1st year is similar to the standard regular curve it is positioned in the upper group(more thatn 70%) divided centering around 50% in the 6th year, of which distribution of children provided with school lunch was higher. When comparing the values of physical status in the 6th year, it was also shown that male children with school lunch are better than these children without lunch in jumping, throwing, chinning and lifting while female children are better than these children without lunch only in jumping, which were a significant difference. In addition, the group provided with lunch showed distribution of the higher physical grade. The result of analysis on their breakfast indicated that the children with every morning breakfast account for 67.6% of the group provided with school lunch while the group without lunch for 57.8%. Regarding the reason that they do not have the breakfast, the group with school lunch answered "Because of habits"(50.7%) while the group without lunch did "Because they have no appetite"(58.9%). When comparing the degree of preference for hot or salty food, it was apparent that these children with school lunch generally tend to prefer less hot or sailty food. With respect to the frequency and place of their eating between meals, it was shown that about 70.0% of both groups has the eating between meals, more than one time a day. Then, the group with school lunch had the eating between meals at home(45.2%) while the group without lunch did it in the process of returning to home(48.4%). Regarding the degree of their preference for a certain food, it was shown that more children of the group with school lunch do not prefer a food to others. Also, their eating attitude indicated that such children as eating the food with chat after completely swallowing food and with T.V watching are larger and lower among the group with school lunch, which showed a remarkable defference from the group without lunch. With respect to their sanitary habits such as hand washing and toothing, these children who always wash their hand before eating, accounted for 84.4 % of the group provided with school lunch while the group without lunch did for 63.6%, of which the female group with school lunch indicated a remarkable difference. The actual condition of their nutrition education showed that these children who answered "Received this education" accounted for 78.0% of the group with school lunch while the group without lunch accounted for 57.5%.
In the present study, an effort was directed to elucidate the effect of the physical training on the pulmonary function. Twenty-four male athletics major students who have undergone regular physical training for more than five years were randomly chosen as the athletic subjects, and 12 regular male students who have not been engaged in any form of regular physical exercise or training were chosen as the non-athletic subjects, and a comparison was made between the two groups. The following were mainly observed by spirometry for the study; respiratory rate, tidal volume, vital capacity, maximum voluntary ventilation(MVV), forced expiratory volume for 1 second$(FEV_1)$, percent $FEV_1$ to forced vital capacity$(FEV_1%)$, forced expiratory flow for initial 1 liter$(FEF_{0.2-1.2}L)$, and forced mid-expiratory flow$(FEF_{\;25-75}%)$. The results obtained are summarized as follow. 1) The respiratory rate, tidal volume, and vital capacity showed no significant difference between athletes and non-athletes. The MVV in athletes was significantly (p<0.01) increased to $148.1{\pm}3.1\;L/min$ comparing with $118.3{\pm}9.1\;L/min$ in non-athletes. 2) $FEV_1$ was $3.310{\pm}0.070\;L$ in athletes and $2.779{\pm}0.104$ in non-athletes; $FEV_1%\;83.63{\pm}1.29%$ in athletes and $75.33{\pm}1.75%$ in non-athletes, both showing significant(p<0.01) increase in athletes. 3) $FEF_{0.2-1.2}L$ was $297.1{\pm}13.5\;L/min in athletes and $222.7{\pm}15.0\;L/min$ in non-athletes; $FEF_{\;25-75}%$ was $3.543{\pm}0.109\;L/sec$ in non-athletes, both showing significant(p<0.01) increase in athletes. 4) Some discussions were made on these results. The lung volumes showed no significant difference between the two groups. But MVV, $FEV_1$, $FEV_1%$, $FEF_{0.2-1.2}L$ and $FEF_{25-75}%$ in athletes were significantly(p<0.01) higher than in non-athletes. It is therefore concluded that the athletes have more powerful respiratory muscles, or higher compliance of the lung and thorax than the non-athletes.
Embedded System includes touch, GPS, motion, and acceleration sensor, and can communicate with neighbor devices using wireless communication. Because Arduino with embedded system provides good environment for development and application, developers, engineers, designers, as well as artists, students have a great interest. They utilize Arduino in the robot, home appliances, fashion, culture and so on. In this paper, we design and implement a game using Arduino with embedded system which recognizes the human movement by moving away from one-dimensional game of the existing touch method. Implemented embedded system game measures gyro-sensor to recognize human movement and detects the attack success of the opponent by using touch sensor. Moreover, health of the game player is updated in the real time through the android phone-based database. In this paper, implemented embedded system-based game provides GUI screen of android phone. It is possible to select watching mode and competition mode. Also, it has low energy consumption and easy to expand because it send and receive data packet through recent Bluetooth communication.
