A Real-time Performance Evaluation System for Speech Waveform Coders (음성파형 부호화기의 실시간 성능측정 시스템)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성파형 부호화기의 성능을 실시간 측정하기 위한 시스템의 구현에 관하여 연구 하였다. 본 장비는 "bit slice" 마이크로프로세서로 설계되었다. 개발된 시스템으로 세 개의 codec의 성능 을 측정하였으며 이 결과를 distortion analyzer로 측정한 결과와 비교하였다. 개발된 장비는 음성 부호 화기의 성능시험을 위한 주관적 청취시험 과정을 피할 수 있게 되었다.

Exploratory studies of the music analgesic effect in people with glasses through cold-pressor task (안경 착용 여부에 따른 음악 통증완화효과의 탐색적 연구)

  • The analgesic effects of music in people with glasses on perceived pain through cold-pressor task (CPT) is assessed based on three-sequence, three-period, crossover trial with three treatment conditions(music-listening, news-listening, and no-sound) to each subject. Fifty subjects are divided into three sequence groups by randomization, and CPTs under the pre-assigned treatment conditions at each period are performed. Pain responses after each CPT, subjects' pain tolerance (PT) in time scale and pain intensity (PI) and pain unpleasantness (PU) in visual analog scale (VAS) are measured. After classifying the group by whether or not to wear glasses, which is the phenotype of the myopia gene, pain responses are compared by F-tests and Tukey's multiple comparisons. CPT pain responses in group with glasses during the music intervention are significantly different from responses during the news intervention and the control conditions, respectively. This study investigates the pain responses of music intervention in the group wearing glasses, which can be seen as a phenotype of the nearsighted gene, and this result would play a role in explaining the biopsychosocial model of the pain mechanism.

  • 스펙트럼포락의 변경에 의해 음성의 개인성이 변환될 수 있다는데 착안하여 스펙트럼포락 수정법에 의한 성질변환에 관하여 연구하였다. 실험에서는 남성화자와 여성화자가 각각 발성한 한국어 모음을 대상으로 스펙트럼포락 수정법을 적용하여 스펙트로그램과 청취시험을 비교검토하므로써 성질변환의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • 최근들어 초고화질 방송인 UHDTV 의 오디오 규격으로 다채널 오디오에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 이를 효과적으로 재생하기 위해 여러 연구기관과 대학에서 음장합성기법(WFS)과 스피커어레이에 관한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 음장합성기법에 대한 여러가지 알고리즘과 청취조건을 시험할 때, 직관적인 인터페이스와 실시간 상호작용이 가능하다면 실험시간을 단축하고, 효과적인 청취시험을 할 수 있다. 이를 위해서 본 논문에서는 이를 위해서 MAXMSP 외부 오브젝트를 이용하여 음장합성기법으로 음원을 재생하고 스피커 어레이를 제어하는 방법에 대해 소개한다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템을 통해서 손쉽게 실시간으로 음장합성시의 오브젝트의 위치 제어하고 멀티채널 음원을 재생할 수 있다.

Room acoustic design of a concert hall with a reflection of listeners' preference (청취자 선호도를 반영한 콘서트홀 음향설계)

  • Various room acoustic parameters and their optimal values were proposed and verified as proper interpretations to the listeners' preference of concert hall sounds. However the listening environment has been changed since they were developed, and the listeners' preference may not be the same among countries of different cultural backgrounds. Actual listeners' preference should be applied to the design of a new concert hall. A survey on the listening preference was carried out for 22 music experts. A room acoustical design process was proposed which made the acoustical environment of a concert hall as close to the listeners' preferences.

  • Articulation test is a good predictor of spatial speech transmission quality. Like many other languages, articulation testing method using Korean language was proposed in 1989, and which was proved as a valid indicator in rooms with static background noise. In this paper, the testing method is examined in variable noise conditions. According to the experiment performed in 26 classrooms with variable background noise, the proposed articulation testing method using Korean Language is still in variable conditions.

Difference in Results according to Scorer and Test Date in Clinical Practice Test (진료수행 시험에서 채점자 및 시험 일자에 따른 결과 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the difference between the scoring results by scorer(doctors and standardization patients) and examination dates. A total of 101 students in the fourth grade of medical school participated in four clinical practice test. Students were randomly assigned to either day-1 or day-2, which was consisted of a standardized patient scoring set or a physician scoring set. Station checklists consisted of history taking, physical examination, patient education, physician-patient relationship and clinical courtesy. The achievement scores of each case and each domain were converted to the standard score, and the differences between groups were compared. Female students' achievement scores were significantly higher than male students' achievement scores in all domains. There was no significant difference between means by the standardized patients' group and doctors group. Day-2 group was significantly higher than day-1 group in both of history taking and physical examination domains. If the principles of checklist are clearly defined, the scorer status (either physician or standardized patients) does not determine the difference of students' practice test scores.

FM송신 무선핸즈프리 기반 사운드 확장과 성능향상에 관한 연구

  • 최근 멀티미디어 산업의 급속한 발달로 다양한 목적의 멀티미디어 제품 군들이 있다. 이러한 멀티미디어 제품은 대부분 휴대용으로 리튬폴리머 배터리를 내장하여 언제 어디서나 듣고, 청취하기 위해 대부분이 소형화된 기기들이다. 본 논문은 모바일 휴대폰에 소형의 FN 송신무선 핸즈프리 기반을 접목하여 사운드 확장과 성능향상에 대하여 연구하였다 FM 주파수대역은 할당 받지 않은 개인이 사용하기에는 출력 제약을 받기 때문에 무선 성능이 좋지 않다. 이를 향상하기 위해 PCB 패턴 안테나를 설계와 함께 안테나 급전부 연결방법 연구 결과로 통화 잡음을 제거하여 좋은 출력특성결과를 가져왔다. 이후 이를 모바일 존에 적용하여 거리에 따른 통화 감도를 높이기 위한 마이 이득 조절기능과 무선 FM 송신으로 수신 측 스피커를 이용하여 청취하므로 사운드확장 장점이 있으며, 통화 잡음을 제거하기 위한 검증시험 및 통합시험을 수행하였다.

  • In this paper, we present code-excited linear prediction coding using trellis coded vector excitation, termed trellis code-excited linear prediction coding (TCELP), for an efficient 8 kbps digital cellular vocoder. A training sequence-based algorithm is developed for designing an optimized codebook subject to the TCELP structure. Also, we discuss the encoding complexity of the TCELP system and trellis symbol release rules that avoid excessive encoding delay. finally, simulation results results for the TCELP coder are given at the bit rate of 8 kbps.
