Adolescent's activity needs and policy related Five-Day school week (주5일수업제 실시에 따른 청소년활동에 대한 욕구 및 정책제안)

  • This study conducted five day school week as seeking direction for programs and policies that meet the needs of weekend activities want the satisfaction of youth to find out what to investigate. For purpose, actually a lot since five day school week and weekend programs whether or not to participate, hope to weekend programs, weekend activities operating in the way were examined. Findings, for the first five day schol week of youth satisfaction than girls, boys lower was, since five day school week and weekend program participation rates were lower. Most since five day school week in activities with friends, sleep, games or Internet, hobby alone, watching TV, family and activities in order appeared. Young people can study their aptitude to live autonomously in a student-centered curriculum of education is required, arising from a rapidly changing society and human relationships, social problems, to respond to a variety of leisure time, and to participate in the program will be provided an opportunity. Lessons five day school week, increased leisure time of youth, school, and community for the desired program, you will need to plan and operate with local conditions.

Development and Validation of the Two Measures (power controllability, power desirability) for Identifying Power Relationships Among the School Youth (학교 내 청소년들의 권력관계 양상과 유형 파악을 위한 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구)

  • This study aimed at developing and validating two standardized measures, 'power controllability', and 'power desirability', which can be utilized to categorize power relationships among the school youth. In order to identify initial items for the measures researchers conducted individual as well as focus group interviews with middle and high school students. School teachers and other school related professionals involved in ensuring both the face validity and the content validity of the initial items. For the finally selected items both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses have been executed with the sample of 1,822 students attending elementary, middle, and high schools in the metropolitan area of Seoul, Korea. To test the validity of the confirmed factor structure of the measures the new sample of 348 middle school students were employed from the metropolitan area. Both construct validity and reliability were calculated from the validity test sample. Based on the two developed measures 4 types of power relationship were identified among the students. The four types of power relationship turned out to predict well the roles that students take in the field of school violence.

  • The authors reviewed the child and adolescent's traumatic experiences expressed in movies through late 1950s to year 2002. The movies are roughly classified by 3 categories based on the methods that used to express protagonist's experience and to uncover the meaning that is implied, that is, an important motive of growth, a metaphor of socio-political issues, or merely an event to develop a drama. Movie is a product of repetition compulsion and an activity like symbolic play between creator and spectators through screen, which enables a kind of corrective emotional experience. The curative elements in movies were also reviewed. The authors suggest the importance of mutual communications between movie creators and psychiatrists because media images about psychiatric issues can make internal stereotypes in conscious and unconscious mind of spectators.

Content Analysis of Smartphone Addiction Management Applications: Self-Determination Theory Perspective (스마트폰 중독방지 앱의 자기결정적 동기화 속성에 관한 내용분석: 자기결정성 이론을 중심으로)

  • The present study aims to evaluate the self-determined motivational features of smartphone addiction management apps. This study analyzed whether smartphone addiction management apps have features to support adolescent users' basic needs, that is, autonomy, competence, and relatedness. 26 apps were analyzed. Among them, 8 apps were parental management apps installed on a parent's phone and a child's phone, and 18 apps were self-management apps installed on a child's phone. According to a content analysis, only 3 of 26 apps addressed all three basic needs. Overall, the functions to support users' competence and relatedness were rarely found. Particularly, parental management apps had a high level of controlingness. The results suggest that the addiction management apps have limitations in stimulating adolescent users' self-determined motivation to manage their phone use.

  • Borderline personality disorder in adolescents present with suicide attempts or gestures, and they are characterized by the same patterns of splitting, devaluation, manipulation, need-gratifying object relations, impulsivity, and ego deficits that are finds in borderline adults, Symptomatolgy are depression, anxiety, identity crisis, and occasionally antisocial behavior in borderline personality disorder in adolescents. These findings should be differentiated to normal stormy adolescents. Theses borderline personality disorder in adolescents are known about the instability of object relations, labile affect, splitting, and psychotic episode in severe stress. According to thses finding, schizophrenia, mood disorder, schizoptypal personality disorder, paranoid personality disorder could be differentiated. Etiology is complex including psychodynamic, genetic, familial factor. Treatments are individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and pharmacotherapy. The continuity or discontinuity of borderline states from childhoon to adult life is controversy.

Deokhu's culture in adolescent as a play space on Cyber (사이버상의 놀이 공간으로서 청소년의 덕후 문화)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the essential meaning of Deokhu's culture in adolescent as a play space on Cyber. A phenomenological research method guided data collection and analysis. Qualitative research methods collected from 18 in - depth interviews using semistructured question types for 13 to 17 year - old adolescents living in Seoul Jamsil. As a result, As a result, adolescent's Deokhu culture started by stress and social and emotional desire, and especially it was utilized as a play space on the cyber of purchase activity of fandom and goods around SNS activities. This has a positive effect on self-awareness as well as self-identity formation. Above all, the shortage of play time due to heavy school entrance and the lack of socially provided play space make the cyber space as another play space for the adolescents.

  • Although the number of adolescents with complicated problems and needs has increased, there has been a limited service for this population. In addition, a traditional social service could not alleviate the problems. In order to provide an alternative to a traditional social service to this population, the wraparound model is reviewed and explored. The study presents a review of literature on wraparound and social work via EBSOCO. By reviewing 12 articles on the subject, the study discovers 3 topics, such as (1) youth with various problems, (2) general characteristics of wraparound, and (3) evidence-based practice and wraparound. Based on 3 topics, the study also discusses the feasibility of wraparound service in Korea.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Book Trailers as an Element of Reading Motivation for Teenagers (청소년들의 독서동기 요인으로서 북트레일러의 효용성에 관한 연구)

  • It has been shown that in the modern society, teenagers do not read a lot of books. As basic research in order to attract teenagers to reading activities, the effectiveness of booktrailers in affecting reading motivation of teenagers has been studied. As such, 121 middle school and high school students were surveyed with respect to their (1) basic awareness of reading and booktrailers, (2) awareness thereof after watching booktrailers, and (3) reader behaviour reaction applied to AIDMA & AISAS sub-elements. Results show booktrailers to be much more effective in reading motivation than printed media such as book reviews. The preferred booktrailer type is the storyline type. The preferred elements of booktrailers are the storyline, background music, video effects, with their preference in descending order. Also, in terms of the reader behaviour reaction of the teenagers, very positive responses appear across all areas including attention and interest in the book, memories of the book, desire to read the book, search for information, and production of booktrailers. These results indicate that booktrailers can be utilized very effectively in providing reading motivation and in reading expression activities.

  • This study is purposed to setting up leisure facilities for provincial teenagers. And this center will be constructed facilities considering young boys and girls's need in geochang-gun. It is carried out those as follows;(1) it is, first of all, examined architectural factors concerned about an demand of young boys and girls in geochang-gun;(2) it is, secondly, established spaces and programs that it is analyzed an alternative proposal considering merits and faults;(3) it is, finally, suggested facilities of It's. The result of study, A development planning of "geochang-gun leisure cultural center" is suggested that it is induced to 'cultural building', 'physical exercise facilities' and 'a boarding house for students of the back regions'. It is, Ultimately, focused development of leisure facilities on demands and feelings of teenagers in a rural area.
