A Conceptual Study on the Types of Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Laboratory Start-ups (창업 기회의 유형과 실험실 창업에 대한 개념적 연구)

  • This study focuses on the proposition that the qualities and environmental conditions required for exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and realizing entrepreneurial opportunities depend on the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. In particular, this study aims to identify the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups, which have recently been gaining policy level attention. If the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is identified as discriminative, appropriate start-up support policies and training programs can be established. For this study, eight major papers were identified among the papers of last 30 years related to the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. After, the classification attributes for each opportunity type were derived. Then, the existing theories of recognition, discovery and creative opportunities were organized, critically reviewed and reorganized. In addition, the substance of laboratory start-ups was verified according to the standardized classification attributes of the revised and reorganized opportunity types and newly classified as 'creative opportunity'. This study also presents networking capabilities and market orientation as examples of the capabilities needed for entrepreneurs of creative opportunity type. The implication of this study is that it makes it easy to discriminate ontological typology of entrepreneurial opportunity, derives important classification attributes, and that it organizes them conceptually. In addition, it critically reconstructs the problems of confusion in the existing typology, and based on this, the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is determined as creative opportunity. These achievements can contribute to the improvement of start-up policies and start-up training programs according to the types of entrepreneurial opportunity and laboratory start-ups in the future, resulting in realization of actual results at the start-up sites.

  • 벤처코리아와 연계해 코엑스 오디토리움에서 성대하게 막을 올린 벤처주간 시상식에서 '2005대한민국창업대전' 대상의 영예는 코리아엘텍에 돌아갔다. 올해 대하민국 창업대전에는 총 310건의 신청이 접수되어 엄격하고 공정한 심사를 거쳐 50개팀(일반부 28개팀, 학생부 22개팀)이 수상기업으로 선정됐다. 입상한 참가팀에게는 상장과 총 1억 2800만원의 상금이 수여되었으며, 앞으로 벤처창업자금 신용지원과 창업보육센터 우선입주 등 정책적인 지원혜택이 주어진다.

  • This study develops a model fer establishing and operating "Arts and Humanities Business Incubators (AHBI)" to improve the productivity in the field of arts and humanities, the major resource of the knowledge-based society. The AHBI is a center that provides general assistance to those who want to start a new business in the area of arts and humanities and continue to provide managerial consultation to those who graduated from the AHBI. This research provides systematically how to provide the hardwares such as of office space and furniture, and how to supply the softwares such as management skills, financing, and marketing. This research indicates that the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Industry should develop AHBIs, and suggests that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism establish AHBIs in its Cultural Industry Incubation Centers. This research expects that a government research institute or professional institute operates AHBI to create job opportunities for arts and humanities majors, to add the academic value of arts and humanities, and to vitalize the local economy.

The Effect of Small Business Owner's Individual Characteristics and Social Capital on Entrepreneurial Intention and Entrepreneurial Anxiety : Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Entrepreneurship Consulting (소상공인의 개인적 특성과 사회 자본이 창업의지와 창업불안에 미치는 영향 : 창업 컨설팅의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study empirically confirmed whether individual characteristics and social capital have distinctive influence on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, and whether entrepreneurship consulting has a moderating effect in the context of high interest in entrepreneurship with 223 data. All of the personal characteristics, network, trust, and consulting experience had a significant influence on the entrepreneurial intention, while the external control and reciprocity norms had a significant influence on the entrepreneurial anxiety. The experience of consulting revealed that it has a moderating effect of weakening influence of risk-taking tendency and network on the entrepreneurial will and strengthening the influence of external control on the entrepreneurial anxiety. This research has significance in terms of distinguishing effects of entrepreneurial intention and anxiety and the moderating effect of consulting. In future research, it is expected that verification of entrepreneurial anxiety should be done.

The Effect of Self-Efficacy and Failure Experience on the Needs of Start-up Support Services (창업자의 자기효능감 및 실패 경험이 창업지원서비스에 대한 니즈에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we hypothesized that the needs for start-up support services may vary depending on the founder's psychological characteristics, such as self-efficacy or his attitude toward uncertainty. To verify this, a survey was conducted on the founders of 86 companies located in Business Incubators at Seoul and Daejeon and an empirical analysis was conducted based on the data. According to the analysis, the higher the self-efficacy of the founder, the more active he expressed his willingness to accept the start-up support service, which aims to provide start-up zones to busy areas outside the university. While the founder, who has experienced failure in the past, responded positively to attracting customers located outside the university. The results of this study supported the hypothesis and suggest that differentiated start-up support services should be designed by including not only characteristics at the level of start-up companies, such as industries and growth stages, but also the psychological characteristics of start-ups in important consideration.

  • Since the global financial crisis, the employment rate of young people worldwide has been declining, and the situation in Korea has worsened. Recently, the employment rate has been restored to a small extent due to the implementation of various government policies on youth employment and entrepreneurship, and many young entrepreneurs have been produced. In addition, various types of youth farming enterprises are emerging as the system for encouraging home farmers and villagers and fostering young farmers has been expanded. In this regard, this study examines the influence of CEO's personal characteristics and government's support policies on corporate performance in starting and managing youth rural enterprises. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect on the performance of rural enterprises. Through this study, it will be able to know what are the important factors for young people to achieve results in starting a rural enterprise. The results of this study suggest three implications. The first is that the personal characteristics of the CEO are important for the performance of youth start-up rural enterprises. Second, in support policy, educational support affects performance, but funding policy does not have a significant effect. Third, since ICT's environmental characteristics do not affect the CEO's personal characteristics and support policies and corporate performance, it is more important to find ways to utilize them directly in the field than to develop ICT's environmental characteristics.

A Study on the Supporting System for Growth Stage of Startup (창업기업의 성장단계별 지원체계에 관한 연구: 국내외 유니콘 기업의 사례 비교)

  • Startups are undergoing a change throughout the growth process of startups that appear in existing studies as they move away from the existing B2B or B2C frame and expand their target customer groups to O2O, C2C. In this regard, a new type of startup known as unicorns, a unicorn which has grown rapidly in a short period of time, is being created by successfully attracting government support and external investment in recognition of the potential value of the startup. This study examined the relationship between investment attraction and growth after founding for five representative unicorns in the U.S. and Korea. As a result, it was found that private investment in Korea is passive and defensive, and is attracted after the Series A stage, compared to the U.S., where the growth potential of the startup ecosystem is positively evaluated. In addition, it found that government's support policy throughout the startup's growth process is an abstract and comprehensive policy focusing on initial funding for startups. Therefore, it was suggested that the scope of government policies should be expanded to forster startups as unicorns, and that it is necessary to establish and implement differentiated support policies for each growth of the scale-up of startups. This study is significant in that it presented the criteria for the growth stage and support of startups as well as policy support for scale-up through practical case analysis of unicorns.

  • 최근 첨단기술의 발달로 인해 기존의 생산업들보다 고 부가 가치를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 아이디어의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 점에서 창업은 참신한 아이디어로 고 부가 가치를 이끌어 낼 수 있다는 점에서 중요하다 할 수 있고 국가의 정책적으로도 많은 창업을 이끌어 내려는 노력이 이어지고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 창업 중 스포츠 창업의 분야에서 체육동호인의 개인적 특성 요인이 창업의지에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하며, 이러한 관계에 창업에 대한 자기효능감 요인의 조절효과 영향에 대하여 밝히고자 한다. 창업의지의 결정 요인으로서 개인적 특성 요인과 네트워크 요인, 창업지원 인식 요인이 창업의지에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였으며, 이 요인들은 창업효능감의 조절로 인하여 더욱 활동력이 강화될 것으로 보고 창업효능감의 조절효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 독립변수로 잠재적 창업자의 개인적 특성 요인(성취욕구, 위험감수성향, 혁신성), 네트워크 요인(온라인 교류, 오프라인교류), 창업지원 인식 요인(동호회 창업지원 인식, 정부 창업지원 인식), 조절변수로는 창업효능감, 종속변수로는 창업의지의 내용으로 연구모형을 구성하였다.

  • 주택 가격이 최근 급등하면서 각종 정부정책이 쏟아져 나오고 있지만 주택 가격은 지역 별 편차를 늘리는 등 다른 문제점들을 양상하고 급등한 가격을 조정하는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 주택을 선택하는 속성에는 다양한 기준이 존재하고 있어 단순한 정부 정책만으로는 해결하기 어려운 측면이 있다. 따라서 다양한 주택선택 속성에 대해 파악하고 주택구매 의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구는 주택선택 속성과 정부정책이 주택 구매행동에 미치는 영향력을 통해서 주택시장에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다. 이를 위한 분석의 주요 쟁점은 다양한 유형의 주택선택 속성과 정부 정책 간에 부동산 투자전망의 조절효과를 고려하는 것이다.

A Study on the Implications of Korea Through the Policy Analysis of AI Start-up Companies in Major Countries (주요국 AI 창업기업 정책 분석을 통한 국내 시사점 연구)

  • As artificial intelligence (AI) technology is recognized as a key technology that will determine future national competitiveness, competition for AI technology and industry promotion policies in major countries is intensifying. This study aims to present implications for domestic policy making by analyzing the policies of major countries on the start-up of AI companies, which are the basis of the AI industry ecosystem. The top four countries and the EU for the number of new investment attraction companies in the 2023 AI Index announced by the HAI Research Institute at Stanford University in the United States were selected, The United States enacted the National AI Initiative Act (NAIIA) in 2021. Through this law, The US Government is promoting continued leadership in the United States in AI R&D, developing reliable AI systems in the public and private sectors, building an AI system ecosystem across society, and strengthening DB management and access to AI policies conducted by all federal agencies. In the 14th Five-Year (2021-2025) Plan and 2035 Long-term Goals held in 2021, China has specified AI as the first of the seven strategic high-tech technologies, and is developing policies aimed at becoming the No. 1 AI global powerhouse by 2030. The UK is investing in innovative R&D companies through the 'Future Fund Breakthrough' in 2021, and is expanding related investments by preparing national strategies to leap forward as AI leaders, such as the implementation plan of the national AI strategy in 2022. Israel is supporting technology investment in start-up companies centered on the Innovation Agency, and the Innovation Agency is leading mid- to long-term investments of 2 to 15 years and regulatory reforms for new technologies. The EU is strengthening its digital innovation hub network and creating the InvestEU (European Strategic Investment Fund) and AI investment fund to support the use of AI by SMEs. This study aims to contribute to analyzing the policies of major foreign countries in making AI company start-up policies and providing a basis for Korea's strategy search. The limitations of the study are the limitations of the countries to be analyzed and the failure to attempt comparative analysis of the policy environments of the countries under the same conditions.
