A Conceptual Study on the Types of Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Laboratory Start-ups (창업 기회의 유형과 실험실 창업에 대한 개념적 연구)

  • This study focuses on the proposition that the qualities and environmental conditions required for exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and realizing entrepreneurial opportunities depend on the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. In particular, this study aims to identify the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups, which have recently been gaining policy level attention. If the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is identified as discriminative, appropriate start-up support policies and training programs can be established. For this study, eight major papers were identified among the papers of last 30 years related to the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. After, the classification attributes for each opportunity type were derived. Then, the existing theories of recognition, discovery and creative opportunities were organized, critically reviewed and reorganized. In addition, the substance of laboratory start-ups was verified according to the standardized classification attributes of the revised and reorganized opportunity types and newly classified as 'creative opportunity'. This study also presents networking capabilities and market orientation as examples of the capabilities needed for entrepreneurs of creative opportunity type. The implication of this study is that it makes it easy to discriminate ontological typology of entrepreneurial opportunity, derives important classification attributes, and that it organizes them conceptually. In addition, it critically reconstructs the problems of confusion in the existing typology, and based on this, the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is determined as creative opportunity. These achievements can contribute to the improvement of start-up policies and start-up training programs according to the types of entrepreneurial opportunity and laboratory start-ups in the future, resulting in realization of actual results at the start-up sites.

  • 프랜차이즈 산업은 전문 창업시스템을 구축한 가맹본부가 사업 초기부터 가맹점의 영업활동을 지원하고 사업 노하우(know-how) 및 경영 기술을 지원 해줌으로서 창업 활동을 용이하게 도와주고 있다. 프랜차이즈 가맹점 창업의 장점은 브랜드 인지도를 활용한 영업활동으로 창업초기부터 일정한 수익을 보장 받을 수 있는 이점이 있어 소상공인의 관심이 매우 높다. 본 연구에서는 프랜차이즈 지원서비스인 가맹본부의 상품공급 수준, 고객관리 지원, 슈퍼바이저지원, 교육훈련 지원, 마케팅지원이 가맹점주의 경영성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 연구함으로 써, 가맹본부와 가맹점간의 서로 상생할 수 있는 지원서비스에 대한 전략적인 방법과 기업가정신과 개인 특성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다.

  • As the interest in entrepreneurship increases, entrepreneurship education programs for people that are preparing to start a business increased rapidly. Entrepreneurial supporting policy from the government has been diversified and because of increasing support of entrepreneurship education, the demand for entrepreneurship education has been rising. As of today, most educators of entrepreneurship education program are management major, expert or people who has the experience of starting a business. Lately, target of education has been diversified and as the demand of entrepreneurship education increases, the importance of systematic training for entrepreneurship educators have been raised. In the present study, we are going to take a look at the current situation of the training course for entrepreneurship educators in Korea and then do a comparative analysis of the cases overseas. And then we derived the improvement plan for the current situation of Korea. When our training courses for the entrepreneurship educators are compared to the courses overseas, we do not have a systematic and ongoing courses. Training for entrepreneurship educators is not something that can be done in a short period of time. The training of educators has to be done prior to the development of education programs. In accordance to the existing school system, we should strive to achieve educational infrastructure that cultivates specialized educators.

  • Korean government recently plan to transform Korean economic system into so called "creative economy" in which entrepreneurial activities play major role. Therefore, a large number of new public support program for entrepreneurs have been announced. On the other hand, there has been growing needs for fairness of economy: large companies are regarded to have abused their negotiating power so far. These two very apparent social trend may require active role of large companies to develop sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in Korea. In this study, the author tries to review current situation and to find what would drive active participation of large companies as seen in other countries.

액셀러레이팅 프로그램 만족도가 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 긍정심리자본의 매개효과를 중심으로

  • 스타트업은 우리 경제의 성장 동력으로 자리매김하고 있으며, 다양한 분야에서 스타트업이 탄생해 일부는 스케일업(scale-up)하여 유니콘 기업으로 발전하는 반면 일부는 데스밸리(Death Valley)를 넘지 못하고 실패한다. 스타트업이 창업 이후 성공적인 사업화를 통해 지속적인 성장을 이룰 수 있도록 공공과 민간부문에서 다양한 노력을 펼쳐 나가고 있으며, 창업자 보육에 필요한 서비스를 종합적으로 제공하는 액셀러레이터가 스타트업 육성 모델로 주목받고 있다. 액셀러레이터에 대한 관심이 증가하는 것에 비례하여 액셀러레이팅 프로그램의 효과에 대한 연구도 최근 활발하게 이루어지고 있으며, 많은 연구에서 액셀러레이팅이 기업성과에 미치는 긍정적인 효과가 검증되고 있다. 액셀러레이팅 프로그램의 운용 주체와 내용이 다양하여 프로그램 효과 분석도 다각적인 시각에서 이루어질 필요가 있으며, 본 연구에서는 동일한 프로그램에 참여하였음에도 불구하고 기업성과에 차이가 발생하는 것이 참여자의 특성에 기인하는지를 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 액셀러레이팅 프로그램에 참여하는 스타트업 CEO의 특성에 초점을 맞춘 연구모형을 설정하였다. 액셀러레이팅 프로그램에 대한 만족도를 독립변수로, 기업성과인 재무적성과와 비재무적성과를 종속변수로 설정하고, 자기효능감, 낙관주의, 희망, 회복탄력성인 긍정심리자본을 매개변수로 설정하여 CEO의 긍정심리자본 정도에 따라 액셀러레이팅 프로그램의 효과에 차이가 있는지 실증적 분석을 통해 검증하고자 한다. 연구 대상은 중소기업 지원 정책금융기관인 신용보증기금과 중소기업은행의 액셀러레이팅 프로그램인 스타트업 네스트(Start-up NEST)와 IBK창공에 참여한 경험이 있는 스타트업 CEO를 대상으로 하였다.

  • Franchising has long been an effective form of distribution that is used primarily by manufacturers whose product lines are especially suited exclusive or highly selective distribution. By IFA(International Franchise Association), franchising is defined as a continuing relationship in which the franchisor provides a licensed privilege to do business, plus assistance in organizing, training, merchandising, and management in return for a consideration from the franchisee. Thus franchising is a method for the owner(franchisor) of product, service, or method to obtain retail or wholesale distribution through licensed, affiliated dealers(franchisees). With rapid increase of franchising industry globally, franchising industry is very rapidly increasing especially in the sector of outdoor restaurant industry in Korea. But there are many problems to be settled for promoting this industry. For example, the industry is too much lean outdoor restaurant industry. With franchisors' short history and lack of management capacity, shortage of distribution infrastructure, smaller size of franchising system, and low trust between franchisor and franchisee, and so on, the industry has many barriers to overcome for promoting it. Here we are suggesting that taxation benefaction, monetary support for the starting franchisee, establishment of fair trade principle, promoting information system and professional human resource should be needed.

  • North Korean defectors are experiencing economic hardship due to the prolonged COVID-19 outbreak. In order to solve this problem, interest in starting a business is increasing. This study targeted the current and previous government, and discovered major topics through text mining of news data on North Korean defector starting a business to examine the start-up support policies according to the keynote of the present regime. Additionally, key factors for successful start-ups were derived through interviews with North Korean defectors who have done them. As a result of the analysis, it is necessary to focus on women and the youth, and to actively expand specialized entrepreneurship education and financial support for North Korean defectors. In addition, it was confirmed that there is a need for a practical and continuous entrepreneurship education program.

  • The government is focusing its attention and support on start-ups. Nevertheless, there is anxiety and fear about starting a business at the base of public awareness. Experienced as a way to overcome fear and difficulty. Few prior studies have been done on experience factors as ones influencing entrepreneurial intention. In this study, I studied whether the experience of successful entrepreneurship through cultural indirect experience affect the resolution of fear about establishing a business. Among the influencing factors on the entrepreneurial intention, business motivation, social support and awareness of entrepreneur were selected as independent variables. In addition, by applying the cultivation theory, the drama role models were set as a controlling variable. For empirical analysis, a survey was conducted targeting 399 ordinary persons. The hypothesis was tested through regression analysis using the SPSS 23 statistical package. The moderating effect was analyzed using Process Macro 3.5. Self-fulfillment, livelihood, economic motivation, social support, and awareness of entrepreneur are sub-factors of business motivation, And all of these had a positive significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Among the significant variables, self-fulfillment was found to have the greatest effect. On the other hand, as a result of analyzing the moderating effect of the drama role model, it was found play a role in controlling between self-fulfillment and entrepreneurial intention, between livelihood and entrepreneurial intention, and between awareness of entrepreneur and entrepreneurial intention. Based on these research results, academic and practical implications were presented.

A Study on the Impact of Prejudice and Environmental Factors on Entrepreneurship Intention: Mediating Role of Fear of Failure (편견과 환경요인이 창업 의지에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 실패두려움의 매개효과)

  • Start-ups are the driving force of economic development and play an important role in improving national competitiveness. The country's start-up support policies are increasing every year, but indicators that do not challenge them and do not consider future start-ups can predict employment reduction and unemployment can increase further. You can. The increase in the number of young people doing nothing is causing economic hardship and neglect of future precious human resources, which calls for a more realistic national entrepreneurship policy. Accordingly, this study sought to identify bias and environmental factors in order to reveal factors that influence the will to start a business among potential entrepreneurs in Korea. For this purpose, descriptive statistical analysis was performed using SPSS on a sample of 227 responses from the general public who are potential entrepreneurs interested in starting a business. As a result, prejudice decreased the will to start a business and increased fear of failure. On the other hand, the entrepreneur's environmental factors reduced the fear of failure and increased the will to start a business. Lastly, fear of failure was found to play a mediating role between the two independent variables and the will to start a business. The results of this study showed that prejudice was a negative factor in the will to start a business, and the environment was a positive factor. These research results suggest that in order to revitalize entrepreneurship, positive environmental factors that can provide entrepreneurs' correct recognition and support for entrepreneurship are necessary.

  • Needs for economic growth and employment creation has led to develop many policies for entrepreneurship in Korea, Which focused on entrepreneurial education. This study focuses on the relationship between entrepreneurial competencies and entrepreneurial intention. So we investigated the degree of competence and entrepreneurial intention in university students with a survey. The results are as follows: First, IT Planning Competencies (ITPC) influence self-efficacy & entrepreneurial intention. but IT Development Competencies (ITDC) do not influence directly on entrepreneurial intention. Second, Creativity Competencies (CC) and Market Perception Competencies (MPC) influence self-efficacy & entrepreneurial intention. but Social Competencies(SC) do not influence directly on entrepreneurial intention. Finally ITPC, CC, MPC affected entrepreneurial intention by mediating self-efficacy. As a result, It is important not to have IT Development Competencies but to hold IT Planning Competencies for the establishment of entrepreneurial intentions. IT Planning Competencies (ITPC) influence entrepreneurial attitude and intention. but IT Development Competencies (ITDC) do not influence directly on entrepreneurial intention. So, we need to develop good contents related to the IT Planning Capabilities, Creativity and Market Perception when organizing training programs in start-up course.
