The convergence of IT technology and fashion is a marked trend in recent years induding sportswear, m-dress (mobile phone dress), and wearable computing. Despite continued research and record high development in the field, however, there still are unsettled issues like power supply, fit, washability and mobility when it comes to commercializing technological fashion product. In this context, this thesis is to propose feasible technology effectively applied to a portable bag. The first case is a bag designed to maximize sensitivity for a family who enjoys leisure activities often. The second one is a limited editionHaute Couture style bag targeting single women in their 20s and 30s. These two case studies are an attempt to demonstrate the possibility of applying wearable technology to a product design.

Image-based virtual try-on (VTON) is becoming popular for online apparel shopping, mainly because of not requiring 3D information for try-on clothes and target humans. However, existing 2D algorithms, even when utilizing advanced non-rigid deformation algorithms, cannot handle large spatial transformations for complex target human poses. In this study, we propose a 3D clothing reconstruction method using a 3D human body model. The resulting 3D models of try-on clothes can be more easily deformed when applied to rest posed standard human models. Then, the poses and shapes of 3D clothing models can be transferred to the target human models estimated from 2D images. Finally, the deformed clothing models can be rendered and blended with target human representations. Experimental results with the VITON dataset used in the previous works show that the shapes of reconstructed clothing are significantly more natural, compared to the 2D image-based deformation results when human poses and shapes are estimated accurately.

Despite the lifting of the mandatory wearing of masks, which was the main tool of the COVID-19 quarantine policy, we paid attention to the fact that some people are still wearing masks, and we wanted to clarify why people do not take off their masks. Through a survey in this regard, we were able to ascertain why some people continue to wear masks in a broader context. In this article, we directly and indirectly confirm the hidden side of citizens' continued wearing of masks by analyzing how the lifting of the mask-wearing obligation was reported in media articles that have a significant impact on citizens' behavior and attitude. Through this, it was confirmed that citizens continue to wear masks to protect themselves in an uncertain situation where the COVID-19 endemic has not been declared, despite the quarantine authorities' announcement of lifting the mandatory wearing. In a situation where crises such as COVID-19 are expected to repeat frequently in the future, it was concluded that it is important to build trust in the quarantine authorities.

PTT(poly trimethylene terephthalate)섬유는 PET(polyethylene terephthalate)섬유에 비하여 탄성 (elasticity)가 우수하고 염색성이 PET와 유사한 점에서 차세대섬유로 분류되고 있다. The aim of the study was to quantify and explore the causal relationships of appearance management through an analysis of one's own clothing and wearing experience, namely clothing preference, personality factors, emotion and mood, newness, familiarity of one's own clothing, and social interaction. Explorative quantitative and qualitative research was carried out using a uniformly composed sample of 10 size 12 females. A personality questionnaire was completed a short while prior to the study. A 10 day ‘wearing diary’ was administered to record where and when outfits were worn. Two questionnaires were completed measure emotion and mood, prior to changing into clothing (a daily baseline), and when they were wearing or changed clothing (dynamic mood). Qualitative information was recorded and included their thoughts and feelings other than the questionnaires, along with photographs that were taken by participants. Preference, social and newness ratings for each outfit worn were recorded after the 10 day period. SPSS analysis identified relationships and linear regression analysis identified preference indicators. Thematic analysis identified 9 themes regarding the management of mood, personality and social factors when wearing one's own clothing. The results indicated strong relationships between emotion, mood, personality and preference and how much newness and different levels of social interaction influence these factors. Participants tended to match their mood and personality with their clothing choices but in some cases also compensated. This research recognises the value of consumer psychological processes involved in appearance management, and has implications for further research into product involvement, post-purchase behaviour and retail strategies for personal shoppers.
Purpose: The study was performed to compare the difference of non-invasive tear break-up time (NIBUT) with alignment or steep fitting of soft contact lens in normal and dry eyes. Methods: Total 40 eyes (aged 20~30 years) were classified to the normal (n=20) or dry eye group (n=20) by the diagnosis methods for dry eyes and worn soft contact lens (polymacon material) with alignment or steep fitting. NIBUTs of lens wearers were separately measured at the points of before wearing, immediately after wearing and after stabilization of tear film. Results: With alignment fitting, averaged NIBUT in the dry eye group after stabilization of tear film was not significantly different from that of the normal eye group. However, averaged NIBUTs in the normal and dry eyes had significant difference when measured immediately after lens wearing. However, the number of eyes having NIBUT less than 4.0 second was 30% higher compared to the number of normal eyes with steep fitting when measured immediately after wearing. Some shorten NIBUT in dry eyes with steep fitting was also shown after stabilization of tear film. Conclusions: These results suggest that wearing soft contact lens in dry eyes differently affect tear film compared to normal eyes. Thus, dry eyes need more advertent fitting for contact lens wearing because of unstable tear film.

This paper describes the development of a wearable robot to assist the elbow muscle for use by elderly workers in aging societies. Various previously developed wearable robots have drawbacks in terms of their price, portability, and slow recognition of the wearer's intention. In this paper, emphasis is placed on the following features to minimize these drawbacks. The first feature is that an actuator is attached only at the elbow joint that withstands the highest moment during arm motion to reduce the weight, volume, and price of the robot and increase its practicality. The second is that operation of the wearable robot is divided into two modes, a tracking mode and a muscle strengthening mode, and the robot can automatically switch between these modes by analyzing the wearer's intention through the brachial muscle strength measuring device developed in this study. The assistive performance of the developed wearable robot is experimentally verified by motion tracking experiments without an external load and muscle strengthening experiments with an external load. During the muscle strengthening experiments, the power of the muscle of the upper arm is measured by a commercial electromyography (EMG) sensor. Motion tracking performance at a speed of $120^{\circ}/s$ and muscle assistance of over 60 % were obtained using our robot.

A variety of wireless devices are commercially available now. Most of studies, however, have been directed to the biological effects of mobile-phone EMF. In this paper, dosimetric analysis for wireless devices of head-mounted display type and a wristwatch type were made to investigate possible biological effects of these devices. SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) distributions were calculated using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) method, for adult human models such as standard Korean human model and VHP(Visible Human Project) model, as well as scaled child models. Measurements were also performed for SAM phantom wearing a simplified prototype for a wireless device for validation of the simulation results. It has been found that children are more vulnerable to such exposure, and these devices could cause some biological effects even for relatively lower power compared to conventional mobile pones.
