Gadget Arms: Interactive Data Visualization using Hand Gesture in Extended Reality (가젯암: 확장현실을 위한 손 제스처 기반 대화형 데이터 시각화 시스템)

  • Extended Reality (XR), such as virtual and augmented reality, has huge potential for immersive data visualization and analysis. In XR, users can interact with data and other users realistically by navigating the shared virtual space, allowing for more intuitive data analysis. However, creating a visualization in XR also poses a challenge because complicated, low-level programming is required, which hinders broad adaptation in visual analytics. This paper proposes an interactive visualization authoring tool based on hand gesture for immersive data visualization-Gadget Arms. The proposed system provides a novel user interaction to create and place visualization in the 3D virtual world. This simple, but intuitive, user interaction enables user designs the entire visualization space in the XR without using a host computer and low-level programming. Our user study also confirmed that the proposed user interaction significantly improves the usability of the visualization authoring tool.

  • Event detection and recognition is an active and challenging topic recent in Computer Vision. This paper describes a new method for recognizing events caused by human motion from video sequences in an office environment. The proposed approach analyzes human motions using Motion History Image (MHI) sequences, and is invariant to body shapes. types or colors of clothes and positions of target objects. The proposed method has two advantages; one is thant the proposed method is less sensitive to illumination changes comparing with the method using color information of objects of interest, and the other is scale invariance comparing with the method using a prior knowledge like appearances or shapes of objects of interest. Combined with edge detection, geometrical characteristics of the human shape in the MHI sequences are considered as the features. An advantage of the proposed method is that the event detection framework is easy to extend by inserting the descriptions of events. In addition, the proposed method is the core technology for event detection systems based on context-aware computing as well as surveillance systems based on computer vision techniques.

Design of Convergence Platform for companion animal Personalized Services (반려동물 개인화서비스를 위한 융합 플랫폼 설계)

  • Nowadays, real-time devices that provide health care for a companion animal is being developed by IoT technology and its demand such as smart puppy tag is increasing. However, it is difficult for IoT devices of companion animals to process complex nature due to miniaturized hardware and constructive nature. There is a clear limit to custom advanced features like health care implementation. This paper designs an integrated platform with statistical analysis which makes it possible to customized services such as feed production, pharmaceutical production, and health care for each companion animal. Middleware that collects sensor information, customer's spending pattern and information from Social Network Service is also designed by making use of IoT devices which companion animals wear. Furthermore, the paper designed data analyzer which analyzes and refines data from collected information that can be applied to personalized services.

  • Nowadays, many interface devices or training systems for the disabled are being developed and introduced with the recent development in IT technology but only few training systems for the developmental disabled are introduced. In this paper, we present a situation training system based on the argumented reality in order to help the developmental disabled to increase their management level of capability to the certain situation. Our system is specifically based on the food serving in the restaurant. This maker-based system provides trainees to safely experience various different situations and take the training session under any circumstances. The trainees for this program are able to look around with the HMD on, take the training easily by following the voice instruction, and try situational scenario.

  • The combination of medical devices and IT convergence technology has made it possible to check health whenever and wherever people want. The recent development of various Ubiqutous Healthcare medical devices ensures the convenient measurements of health variations in daily lives and at home. However, considering that there is a growing prevalence of the devices and a great interest in the development of Ubiqutous Healthcare device, it is urgent to secure the stability and to establish performance evaluation. Therefore, it is needed to develop standard testing methods for the stability and the performance evaluation on before and after selling products. In this paper, I studied the standard testing method of both compulsory tests and performance evaluation which are for the electric stability evaluation on Ubiqutous Healthcare devices.

Trend Changes of Domestic Swimwear Design (국내 수영복의 디자인 트렌드 변화)

  • Sports wear in relation to sports life is being developed in fashion industry with increasing leisure time. However, design development for swimwear including trend analysis is still required. In this research, we analyzed design trends in domestic social and cultural environment, and fashion design elements for the development for swimwear. We collected 9,549 picture images totally through 138 swimwear product catalogues in 1970s to 2014, and 8 web sites. We analyzed formative characteristics such as silhouettes, materials, colors, and textile designs. Because of the shorter cycle of social changes, and various trend, design changes of swimwear are getting diverse. Especially, color and textile design are remarkable. Also, new materials and printing technology make the design of swimming wear more comfortable and fashionable. This research would be a basic research for the design development of swimming wear.

  • 인터넷은 "정보의 바다"라는 말처럼 날마다 방대한 양의 데이터가 쏟아져 나오고 있으며, 이런 방대한 데이터 속에서 정보를 찾기란 쉽지 않다. 그러나 인터넷 사용자들은 정확한 정보를 신속하게 언제 어디서나 획득할 수 있기를 희망한다. 현재 정보의 창고인 도서관은 더 이상의 Paper 정보가 아닌 Digital 정보로의 변화가 필요하며 각 분야에서 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 연구개발정보센터(KORDIC)에서는 과학기술지역인프라 구축사업을 통해서 광주ㆍ전남권역을 시범 권역으로 선정하여 13개 대학의 도서관, 산업단지, 연구소(KORDIC)를 하나로 묶는 즉, 산ㆍ학ㆍ연이 하나가 되어 상호대차 원문 서비스를 할 수 있도록 기반을 구축하는데 목적이 두고있다. 본 시스템은 상호대차 원문 서비스를 위해 대학 간 분담수서를 통해서 분담된 도서를 원문서비스 하는 상호 협력 체제를 구축하는데 필요한 시스템이며 사용자들은 해외 저널 원문을 신청하게되고, 서비스 담당자는 신청된 해외저널원문을 Digital화해서 사용자에게 보내주는 체제를 구축하기 위해 열악한 대학에는 시스템과 통신 인프라를 지원하여 상호대차원문서비스가 가능하게 하는 것을 전제로 하고 있다. 분담수서를 통해 서비스하게 될 해외저널에 대해서는 각 대학에서 책임감을 가지고 서비스를 해야하므로 서비스의 질과 업무의 자립도를 높일 수 있으며 상호대차를 통해 산ㆍ학ㆍ연이 하나처럼 연계가 된다. 또한 해외 학술 저널 DB를 공동으로 구축하여 국내 지역별 대학소장 해외 학술 전문자료를 데이터베이스화, 전문정보망을 구축 회원기관 간 정보교류의 활성화, 대학 소장 해외 학술 전문자료의 정보 표준화 효과를 창출할 수 있으며, 분담수서를 통해 얻어지는 예산 절감으로 새로운 분야에 재투자한다면 정보의 질적, 양적 향상을 도모하게 될 것이다.것으로 나타났다.본 규격은 키, 총장, 어깨길이, 등길이, 머리길이, 머리둘레, 진동둘레, 목둘레, 가슴둘레, 허리둘레, 배둘레, 엉덩이둘레, 앞품, 뒤품, drop치를 포함하고 있고, 각 규격에서 호칭간 치수 간격도 함께 제시하고 있다. 본 연구 결과에서 보듯, 현행 8규격의 무진복의 각 호칭간 적정 허용범위를 고려해 합리적인 치수체계를 정립한다면 치수에 대한 적합도가 상당히 증가할 뿐 아니라 생산비용도 상당히 감축할 것으로 생각된다.나타났다. 4) 호감적 서비스능력 차원에서 세 독립변수간에 유의한 3원 상호작용이 존재하는 것으로 나타나( $F_{2,228}$=15.62, P<.001) 20대에 적합한 의복 착용시( $F_{2,228}$=3.98, P<.05)와 60대에 적합한 의복 착용시( $F_{2,228}$=16.55, P<.001) 점포유형과 격식차림간에는 유의한 상호작용이 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 5) 호감을 구성하는 세 요인들이 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 호감적 인상차원은 29%(P<.001), 호감적 서비스능력차원은 6%(P<.001)의 구매의도를 설명해 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과 노년 소비자에게 호감을 주는 판매원의 외모는 구매의도에 영향을 주어 실버의류산업의 이익증대와 밀접한 연관을 갖는 서비스품질의 중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다.중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다.로운 단백질 EPSPS가 다른 여러 식물에 이미 존재하고 있는 단백질로서 우리가 이미 이러한 식품을 섭취할 때 이 단백질도 같이 섭취해오고 있었다는 점, 둘째. 이 단백질이 소화액 분해 실험에서 짧은 시간내에 분해가 되었다는 점, 셋째. 재조합 된 콩과 자연 콩이 성분 분석에서 차이를 나타내지 않았다는 점, 네 번째. 쥐를 통한 다양섭취

Effect of Simulator Sickness Caused by Head-mounted Display on the Stability of the Pupillary Rhythm (머리착용 디스플레이에 의해 유발된 멀미 증상이 동공 리듬의 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study is to determine the effect of motion sickness on pupil rhythm. Sixteen volunteers of both genders (8 male, 8 female, mean age $25.67{\pm}2.43$ years) experienced VR contents in both 2D and HMD versions for 15 minutes, and their pupillary rhythms were compared. The irregular pattern of the pupillary rhythms, as demonstrated by increasing mean pupil diameter (mPD) and standard deviation of the pupil diameter (sPD), revealed motion sickness after experiencing HMD condition. The pupillary response is strongly related to the cognitive load, and the motion sickness can be interpreted as a change in the cognitive load caused by the increasing volume of visual information that must be processed and the conflict or inconsistency between different sensory modalities. The method proposed in this study could be a non-contact measurement method for the monitoring of motion sickness using a web-camera rather than previous sensor-based methods.

Implementation of a pet product recommendation system using big data (빅 데이터를 활용한 애완동물 상품 추천 시스템 구현)

  • Recently, due to the rapid increase of pets, there is a need for an integrated pet-related personalized product recommendation service such as feed recommendation using a health status check of pets and various collected data. This paper implements a product recommendation system that can perform various personalized services such as collection, pre-processing, analysis, and management of pet-related data using big data. First, the sensor information worn by pets, customer purchase patterns, and SNS information are collected and stored in a database, and a platform capable of customized personalized recommendation services such as feed production and pet health management is implemented using statistical analysis. The platform can provide information to customers by outputting similarity product information about the product to be analyzed and information, and finally outputting the result of recommendation analysis.

Indoor Location Positioning System for Image Recognition based LBS (영상인식 기반의 위치기반서비스를 위한 실내위치인식 시스템)

  • This paper proposes an indoor location positioning system for the image recognition based LBS. The proposed system is a vision-based location positioning system that is implemented the augmented reality by overlaying the location results with the view of the user. For implementing, the proposed system uses the pattern matching and location model to recognize user location from images taken by a wearable mobile PC with camera. In the proposed system, the system uses the pattern matching and location model for recognizing a personal location in image sequences. The system is estimated user location by the image sequence matching and marker detection methods, and is recognized user location by using the pre-defined location model. To detect marker in image sequences, the proposed system apply to the adaptive thresholding method, and by using the location model to recognize a location, the system can be obtained more accurate and efficient results. Experimental results show that the proposed system has both quality and performance to be used as an indoor location-based services(LBS) for visitors in various environments.
