Antenna Design of Mobile Frequency bands for Vehicular Application (휴대 단말 주파수 대역에서 동작하는 차량용 안테나 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of a novel integrated mobile antenna for vehicles. The proposed antenna fabricated on a low cost easily available FR4 substrate, which effectively covers both dual band operation. The proposed mobile antenna is a modified G-type patch antenna that can operate in various frequency bands, GSM (880~960 MHz), AMPS (824~894MHz), DCS (1710~1880MHz), PCS (1850~1990MHz), UMTS (1920~2170). Experimental results indicate that the impedance bandwidth (VSWR 1:2.5) of the proposed mobile antenna agree that of the simulation results. It was validated that the configuration can meet the demands of Mobile frequency bands and effectively enhanced the impedance bandwidth to 36.46% for the lower band and 27.84% for the upper band. This paper also presents and discusses the 3D radiation patterns and gains according to the results of the experiment.

Development of a Location Tracking System for Operation Management of Public Garbage Trucks (공공 청소차 운행 관리를 위한 위치 추적 시스템 개발)

  • In these days, according to the enhancement of the mobile communication technologies, location based services using the location and movements are vitalized. In this paper, we develop a private vehicle tracking system for garbage truck operation management using GPS and CDMA communication and Open map interface. The terminal equipment attached in vehicle receives the GPS signals and detect the position data including time, longitude, latitude, and altitude. And the terminal sends these data to the server PC through CDMA cellular network in fixed period. The server saves these data into database to process in map server program with which we can view real-time trace of moving vehicle. We apply our system to public garbage truck managing operation and we can increase operation efficiency by examine real-time working and moving path and by present reasonable operation rout.

  • In this paper, we propose the new technique to compute the optimal route by considering the direction of distribution vehicles and the location for delivery, developing the algorithm of the shortest route to approach the location as applying the gemetic algorithm. This approach makes it possible for us to find the best route even under itineraries which include many destinations. Lively studies are currently in progress on the development of vehicle navigation software, combining PDA GPS, and electronic maps. Many web-sites are providing a varier of services which use electronic maps. Popular among these services is one that computes the optimal route between two positions that a user inputs. This service of computing the optimal route plays an important role in distribution industries such as home-delivery. For the distribution system. the construction of a vehicle regulation system enables us to calculate and manipulate the optimal route for distribution vehicles, to enhance the efficiency in making use of vehicles and labor, and to reduce costs.

Information Transfer Method of Dangerous Road Condition (도로 위험 상황의 전송 방법)

  • Developed safety system which transfers danger information to rear cars for accident prevention when drivers detect a accident, a dropping or a freezing during driving on the high way. To prevent an accident, each vehicles mount OBU which is made up of a GPS unit and a transmitter-receiver and the trace of road is always renewed and saved in OBU per a regular past distance. When the driver see dangerous situation, transfer a danger pattern and a trace information by pressing button. All cars which receive information compare the received data with the original data. And then, only cars which are located at the rear in a regular distance respond and occur a warning. Performed a road test at the rate of $30{\sim}50$ kilometer a hour using two test cars which saved about 120meter's space between them were mounted OBU which had 447Mhz transceiver. As a result of the experiment, communication between test cars had no problem. Accordingly, it can use a safety driving device because driver can notice a danger situation and set themselves ready for it using this system in advance.

Development of a Signal Control Algorithm Using an Individual Vehicle's Data in a Wireless Environment (무선통신 환경에서의 개별차량 정보를 이용한 교차로 신호제어 알고리즘 개발)

  • Recently, as IT technology and the ubiquitous environment have diffused, the application of these techniques are being attempted in the field of traffic operations and management. Therefore, it is necessary to develop data collection systems and signal control strategies that are suitable in the ubiquitous environment and that will improve efficiency and safety of signalized intersections. The authors conducted a study on the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) signal control strategy using a wireless communication network between individual vehicles and a signal-control system and full actuated signal control technique to propose a new signal control strategy in the ubiquitous environment. The WSN was defined to evaluate the algorithm used with PARAMICS API simulation. The simulation produced results that the WSN signal control is more effective than other signal control methods. The WSN signal control could reduce vehicle delay time to a maximum of 64% in comparison with other signal control methods in low and near saturation flow conditions.

  • By adding short-range wireless communication function such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to the last vehicle in conjunction with a smart phone, a modern automobile is becoming entertainment screen to determine a variety of information such as car location information, diagnosis information, etc. through the ECU vehicle electronic control unit. In this study, by utilizing short-range communications capability of the on-board diagnostic devices and smart phones in association with the on-board diagnostics, compatibility tests among a number of smart phone models, Bluetooth and NFC(Near Field Communication) were carried out and those results were analyzed. Furthermore, composition of on-board diagnostic device having Bluetooth and NFC interface function and the fault diagnosis function were implemented, and fault diagnosis debugging program was developed. In addition, fault diagnosis data of the vehicle via the OBD-II interface was extracted. Finally, the on-board diagnostics CAN Protocol implementation has been proposed, and the results of work was analyzed.

  • In this paper, we implemented that MMT(Multimedia Terminal) demonstrates spot news, weather forecast, sports news and cultural news employed CDMA mobile communication networks. The MMT displays mobile pictures/joint pictures/on screen ad and to make known Bus stop or Mobile stations. The MMT gives driver's and passenger's safety and valuable information for one's use GPS satellites. We verified to make real time mobile picture transfer use of CDMA2000 1×(IS-95C) network and development the scheduler control each module. This system tested on vehicle that train and bus. MMT was implemented high reliability and stability by the embedded system. The mobile terminal shows reliable data transfer rate about 74Kbps on IS-95C.

  • 최근 무선통신망의 발전에 따라 이동성을 기반으로 하는 서비스에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그리고 휴대폰과 PDA와 같은 휴대용 단말기의 사용이 일반화된 가운데 GPS를 기반으로 하는 서비스들도 점차적으로 보편화되어 가고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 이동성을 지원하는 무선 단말기를 기반으로 한 Mobile GIS 환경에서의 위치 정보 활용은 큰 관심을 불러일으키고 있으며, 또한 이러한 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하기 위해서 위치 기반 서비스(LBS : Location Based Service)의 기술개발이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 전력회사에서 LBS를 적용하기 위한 Business Model인 기동보수 업무를 대상으로 크게 3가지 부분으로 나누어 설계한 모델을 제시한다. 위치 컨텐츠를 처리하고 차량 및 보수 상황 관리 서비스를 제공하는 위치 응용 서버, 현장의 이동 단말 장치와 인터페이스에 직접 작용하는 위치 서비스 클라이언트, 피리고 위치 응용 서버와 위치 서비스 클라이언트간의 위치 및 작업정보 데이터 송수신을 담당하는 게이트웨이 서비스로 구성하여 요구기능, 처리흐름 시공간 데이터베이스 구조 구현방안 등 LBS를 제공하기 위한 선계 내용을 서술한다.

  • It develops in the development efforts about the terminal software platform while the telematics service is activated. Domestically, a standard is developed around the Korea Telematics Standardization Forum. And it is taken in reviews for the WIPI which is supporting the telematics. Internationally, it develops standards for the vehicle based platform in the standardization organizations like OSGi and GST. Under this background, this paper tries to propose the terminal software platform standard in which the vehicle information based telematics service can be taken. For this, firstly domestic and international telematics standard conditions are looked into around the terminal software platform. The terminal software platform standard proposed in this paper is illustrated in the architecture, the required function and the interface side.

  • Beyond a simple voice service, the advances in performance and resolution of mobile handsets provides us various features in the field of mobile services. Also, advances in the human-machine interface, electronics and embedded system technologies have created the foundation for a dramatic shift in the way the vehicles are diagnosed and maintained. In this paper, we will show the vehicle diagnostic system using the mobile handset based on the OBD-II (On Board Diagnostics version II) protocol. After 2005, OBD-II standard is obligatory for all vehicles selling in Korea. Our research topics are OBD-II protocol converter for the mobile handset and the vehicle diagnostics system on WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability) mobile platform, which is the standard mobile platform in Korea.
