  • The Tactical Information and Communication Network system provides real-time multimedia services such as voice and data by utilizing the Mobile Subscriber Access Point. At this time, an external transmission path is constructed through the Low Capacity Trunk Radio and the High Capacity Trunk Radio system. The communication devices of each wireless transmission system are mounted on a tactical vehicle and a secondary battery is used to prevent a power interruption when the supply power to the tactical vehicle is transferred to the integrated power control device. In this paper, the basic design of the Wireless Power Transfer device for charging the battery of the integrated power control system of the mobile base station system using the Loading Distribution Method and checking the number of primary windings and the core material selection by the air gap through the Finite Elements Method.

The Pattern Improvement of Leaky-wave Slot Array Antenna for Satellite Communications (위성통신용 슬롯배열 누설파 안테나의 패턴 개선)

  • Small size and low profile antenna for mobile vehicular-top-mounted is needed in satellite communication services such as DBS, Satellite Internet and VSAT. In middle latitudes, the development of an array antenna which has the conformal, low profile and 45 degree beam tilted configuration, and has the high gain with sharp beamwidth, low sidelobe and low loss is required for Ka band satellite communication. In this paper, in order to meet with these performances, an array antenna consisting of the vertical polarized waveguide longitudinal slots based on the leaky-wave mode of traveling wave antenna is proposed. Especially, for the lower sidelobe level the radiation power control using a design method of the different slot width is proposed. An array antenna consisting of 32 leakywave elements is showing 34.4 dBi of gain, 3.6 degree of beamwidth, below than -25 dB of sidelobe level, 43 degree of beam tilt angle in center frequency 20.0 GHz. Feed network designed by waveguide cooperated feed shows good performance of wideband and low loss.

  • CRDI 시스템에서의 ECU는 센서의 정보를 분석하여 최적의 조건으로 엔진이 동작하도록 한다. 이러한 ECU의 프로그램 부분과 데이터 부분은 제작자에서만 변경할 수 있어 엔진을 진단하는 진단기의 경우 전문가가 아니면 사용하거나 내용을 이해하기가 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 산업용 차량의 엔진 데이터 값을 OBD-II표준을 사용하여 입력받아 사용자 중심의 진단기를 PC 및 모바일용으로 개발하였다. 본 연구의 진단기는 운전자 중심의 진단 서비스를 제공하며, 자동차 고장진단 신호 및 센서 출력 신호를 유선시스템과 무선 시스템인 블루투스 모듈을 이용하여 실시간 통신이 제공되도록 함으로써 엔진이상으로 인한 사고의 예방이 가능하고, 최적의 조건으로 엔진이 동작하므로 과도한 배기가스 배출이나 불완전 연소가스 배출과 같은 대기환경오염을 예방할 수 있어 최근 대두되고 있는 에코산업에도 이바지 할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The HVAC(Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system is only controlled by turn on/turn off operations with AC 380V input. Therefore, the efficiency of the system is reduced and accoustic noise problem occurs. Also, the blower is shut down at the AC power failure. In this paper, the inverter system with UPS function for the A/C(Air Conditioning) blower is proposed. Proposed inverter system which is powered from the AC and DC voltage can control speed, operation mode, and soft-start time using CAN communication. In case of the CAN communication failure, RS-232 communication could be used to control the hardware directly by the engineer that can solve existing problems. To verify the validity of proposed inverter system, simulations and experiments are carried out.

  • In this paper, for the purpose of improving the future domestic train control systems and securing interoperability according to the global development trends of train control systems, we present the test results of communication interfaces to verify the interoperability between CBTC wayside units tentatively installed in Bundang line that is one of the metropolitan area rail transit systems, and the CBTC onboard units developed through the national R/D project. The CBTC onboard equipment developed, has finished its installation and trial tests in the Bundang shunting yard. For the interoperability test, we should make an interface test with wayside equipment tentatively installed in Bundang line. Due to the safety-critical characteristics of train systems, the site test in the section where the wayside equipment is installed, leads to a danger against safety. Therefore, by way of constructing a simulation environment of train control systems, we confirm the T/R data systems of the equipment for interoperability and test the interoperability by applying these systems to developed CBTC onboard equipment.

  • Interference reduction method of vehicle collision avoidance sensor which is used for the low speed electric vehicle has been investigated. Various methods were attempted for the vehicle collision avoidance distance sensor, which received a transmitted signal from a front driving vehicle to measure the distance between two vehicles, to avoid interference by the own transmitter signal toward the rear following vehicle. In this study, -12dB of interference cancellation ratio was realized by using the phase cancellation method to the transmitted signal from the own vehicle. Proposed phase cancellation method is regarded to have the advantage of continuous monitoring in comparison to the conventional time sharing transmitting and receiving method.

  • Traffic intersection control is implemented by the data which is acquired to vechile loop detector. Traffic intersection control equation is Webster equation. which use passig and delayed vechile number. But webster equation is applied to the spot traffic intersection, it is not used to related traffic intersection network system. There is not the approprate remote traffic intersection control, even if there is, it is high cost local network system. Therefore low cost and expert traffic intersection control is realized by internet referencing next and distant intersection traffic information.

  • In this study, an automatic idle stop control system was developed, which automatically stops the idle state engine as it detects the stop state of the car for several seconds and restarts the stopped engine with the driver's electrical signal. It is composed of microprocessor and the related electronic circuits and communicates with ECU and TCU. With accurate and confirmed operating performance, the control system was equipped in the test car which was proceeded the ECE15+EUDC mode test. It is confirmed that the control system, ASG has much favourable effects on reducing the fuel consumption and harmful exhaust emissions.

  • An L-band (1435-MHz~1535MHz) omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is designed and evaluated for transmitting/receiving of vehicle data. Conventioanl linear polarized wave antenna can not receive clearly all of the vehicle data which come from the wide driving test range on account of distortion. To vercome this problem, an omnidirectional circular polarized wave antenna is reuaried an designed. For the design, first of all, the charcteristics, design principle and theoretical background of circular polarized wav ewith a little signal loss ahve been reviewed. The characteristics of th edesigned antenna are analyzed wave with a little signal loss have been reviewed. The characteristics of the designed antenna is increased over 5dB comparing to that of linear polarized wave. Our results also demonstrate that the strength of vehicle data is flat enough over the full test range using this new antenna.

  • Korea is surrounding by the sea on three sides and consists of mountainous terrain over 65% and the rainfall is high. Therefore, accidents of the vehicle rollover and crash are frequently occurring. Lifesaving system is being urgent required to solve these problems. In this paper, we designed and implemented a lifesaving system for handling a car crash and rollover and verified the functionality through the test.
