  • This study is about university students' perception of intergenerational communication and its affecting factors. Based on literatures on intergenerational communication, the effect of stereotype on intergenerational satisfaction was testified and the mediating role of intergroup anxiety and the moderating role of communication competence were also analysed. Results showed that the effect of stereotype was mediated by intergroup anxiety, and the paths were different depending on the gender and communication competence. In the case of the male student group and the group with high communication ability, stereotypes affected intergroup anxiety, but intergroup anxiety did not directly affect intergenerational communication satisfaction. On the other hand, in the case of the female student group and the group with low communication skills, intergroup anxiety had significant effect on communication satisfaction. Also, it was found that the content of stereotype had an important effect on intergenerational communication satisfaction.

  • This study was conducted to identify how special education teachers perceive their school's organizational climate through latent profile analysis performed using Mplus, and determine whether there was a difference in the average teacher burnout rate between perception groups using three-step approaches. The participants were 312 special education teachers. The perception groups were identified as 'closed', 'laissez-faire', 'average', 'controlled', and 'autonomous.' The groups had different teacher burnout rates. The closed group had the highest rate, while the autonomous group had the lowest. This paper discusses the implications of these results for special education teacher burnout and school organizational climate, and suggests ideas for future studies.

  • We investigated the effects of hypothetical deductive experiment on students' views about the nature of science (NOS). Participants were 212 eighth graders from a middle school and they were assigned to a control group and an experimental group. Students of the control group did guided experiment in small group and students of the experimental group did hypothetical deductive experiment in small group. The results revealed that both students of the control group and the experimental group possessed similar views about NOS in a pretest. But the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about the theory of dependance of observation, scientific reasoning and hypothesis in the posttest. Students who used mainly surface learning strategy within the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about hypothesis in the posttest. On the other hand, students who used mainly deep learning strategy within the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about the theory of dependance of observation, scientific reasoning and hypothesis in the posttest.
