Effect of Augmented Reality Contents Based Instruction on Academic Achievement, Interest and Flow of Learning (증강현실 콘텐츠 기반 수업이 학업성취, 학습흥미, 몰입에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this experimental study is to find out the effect of augmented reality contents based instruction on academic achievement, interest and flow of learning. The subjects were 142 students of five classes, sampled from 6th graders of an elementary school. Three classes(86 students) were taught by augmented reality based instruction and the other two classes(56 students) were taught by textbook based instruction for 2 weeks. The experimental design of the study was the pretest-posttest control group design. The results are summarized as follows: First, there is a significant difference in academic achievement between two groups. Augmented reality based instruction group accomplished higher achievement than textbook based instruction group. Second, there is no significant difference in general interest of learning between two groups. But in the interest of lessons taken by students themselves, augmented reality based instruction is more effective than textbook based instruction. Finally, there is a significant difference in learning flow between two groups. Augmented reality based instruction group showed higher learning flow than textbook based instruction group.

  • Elementary information education is currently provided in accordance with the 2000 ICT educational guidelines. Although the focus of education has shifted from practical use to computer science since 2005, in which way academic education should be led isn't yet clear. The purpose of this study was to examine the impacts of computer science education(CS education) by an education programming tool on school children's awareness of that education. The selected students received education about unplugged, scratch and robot programming, part of the computer science curriculum, in 12 sessions. As a result, there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups in all the variables that included attitude to computer science, interest in that, satisfaction level, self-efficacy and perception of the value of CS education. The findings of the study suggested that in CS education, the improvement of thinking faculty should take precedence over practical use of what's learned, which is expected to heighten the value of that education.

  • 본 논문은 1930년에 창간하여 당시 한국인 의학연구집단의 중심적 학술 커뮤니케이션 장을 담당하였던 조선외보에 대하여 연구하였다. 먼저 조선의 보가 출현하게 된 배경으로써 한국에 서양근대의학이 도입되어 교육되는 과정을 살피고, 1930년 이전까지 의학자집단에 형성과 소식지 및 학회지의 발간 사항을 살펴보았다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 조선의보의 발간에 미친 직·간접적인 영향을 찾아보고자 하였다. 또한 조선의보로 발간하였던 조선의사협회의 결성과 그 성격에 대하여 언급하였으며, 본격적 의학 학술지로써의 조선의보의 면모에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 아울러 이 저널에 게재되었던 논문을 분석하여 당시 의학적 관심과 핵심적인 의학 연구자 집단을 구성해보았다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of STS program in Earth Science instruction on science-related attitude and scientific achievement of high school students. The students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught by the STS program and the control group was taught by the conventional lecture. The science-related attitudes have been improved in the experimental group more positively than in the control group. The experimental group showed a higher improvement in scientific achievements than the control group.

  • This study is to examine the effects of problem-based learning on elementary school students' ability in coping with the dysfunction of information. In order to conduct research, prevention education for elementary school students using problem-based learning is designed and the designed teaching method is applied to an experimental group, but tradition teaching is conducted to a comparative group. Therefore, it is possible to understand the effects of problem-based learning on students' ability in coping with the dysfunction of information, ICT application ability and learning achievement. The study has a meaning to give correct understanding of the dysfunction of information and prevention consciousness, offering significant information to teachers for improving teaching methods for the dysfunction of prevention education.

  • Establishing problem-based leaning(PBL) that is one type of constitutional learning models is meaningful not only for finding the diversity of WBI types but also for being the specific example of constitutional usage of WBI. This paper shows the development of web-based and problem-based learning program for 6th grade students of elementary school and finds its effect on their studies achievement. There were two classes of traditional lessons and one class of web-based and problem-based lessons. It performed a test with the classes for science lesson. It was found that web-based and problem-based learning is more effective on the improvement of studies achievement. There was meaningful difference in studies achievement according to ICT utilization ability. Web-based and problem-based learning statistically had a meaningful effect on the improvement of ICT utilization ability.

A Preliminary Study on the Semantic Network Analysis of Book Report Text (독후감 텍스트의 언어 네트워크 분석에 관한 기초연구)

  • The purpose of this preliminary study is to collect specific examples of book reports and understand semantic characteristics of them through semantic network. The analysis was conducted with 23 book reports which classified by three groups. The keywords were selected from the of book reports. Five types of keyword network were composed based on co-occurrence relations with keywords. The result of this study is following these. First, each keyword network of book reports of groups and individuals is shown to have different structural characteristics. Second, each network has different high centrality keywords according to the result analysis of 3 types of centrality(degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality). These characteristic means that keyword network analysis is useful in recognizing the characteristics of not only groups' and but also individual's book reports.
