A Study on the Dining Out Consumption Behavior of Working Women Based on Lifestyle - Focused on Daejeon City - (라이프스타일에 따른 직장여성의 외식소비행태에 관한 연구 - 대전지역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze dining out consumption behavior of working women based on their lifestyle. To do this, demonstrative research was conducted on studying how the behavior of working women differs according to their lifestyle. The questionnaires developed for this study were distributed to 350 working women living in Daejeon City. A total of 310 copies of the questionnaire were used for analysis, and the statistical analysis was completed using SPSS(ver 12.0) for descriptive analysis, factor analysis and cluster analysis. A total of 4 factors were generated by factor analysis: Financial technology style, pursuit of dining out style, pursuit of popularity style, pursuit of brand style. The result of analyzing the difference between the consumer behavior by lifestyle of working women showed there were significant differences in 5 factors except time required for meal. To sum up, lifestyle of working women plays an important role in dining out consumption behavior. Therefore, marketing strategies about demographic characteristics and dining out consumption of working women are urgently needed.

Motivation of the Satellite DMB Use and Genre Consumption (위성 DMB 이용 동기와 장르 소비: 장르 선호도, 레퍼토리, 소비유사성을 중심으로)

  • This paper attempts to identify motivations of the satellite DMB use and to examine the relationship between user motivations and structure of genre consumption. Firstly, this paper identified motivational dimensions for satellite DMB usage. The results of the factor analysis revealed three dimensions: information-seeking, entertainment-oriented and social communication. It accounts for 69.9% of the variances found within this data. Secondly, the results of the regression analyses suggested that both information seeking and entertainment-oriented motivations were closely related to genre preferences of satellite DMB contents. In addition, these two motivations predicted genre repertoires and similarity in genre consumption. In conclusion, motivations of the satellite DMB use were the best predictors for explaining the structure of genre consumption.

  • 소비자의 집단 구성원에 대한 자아지각은 소비자 의사결정에 어떠한 영향을 미칠까? 집단소비자 상호간에 영향을 미치는 의사결정 상황이나 소비자 개인적 의사결정상황 등 의사결정 상황에 따라 다르게 영향을 미칠까? 본 연구는 소비자가 집단의식을 인식할 때 개인적 차원과 집단적 차원에서 행해지는 의사결정이 어떻게 이루어지는지를 검증하고, 이때, 소비자의 위험회피성향에 따라 소비자 의사결정이 어떻게 조절되는가를 2 가지 실험을 통해 밝히고자 하였다. 미국 오레곤 주립대학교의 아시아계 학생들을 대상으로 2 가지 실험을 실시한 결과, 집단의식을 지각한 소비자는 집단관련 의사결정은 물론 개인관련 의사결정에서도 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 위험회피성향의 조절효과에 대한 실험결과는 집단의식을 지각한 소비자와 집단의식을 지각하지 않는 개인적 소비자 모두 처벌에 관한 상황에서 형평성 선호와 협상적 대안을 선택하는 것으로 나타나 집단의식지각의 의사결정에 대한 위험회피성향의 조절효과는 부분적으로 나타났다.

Clothing Purchase Behavior of Adolescents by the Consumer Awareness (청소년의 소비자 의식과 의복구매행동)

  • To investigate the consumer awareness and clothing purchase behavior of adolescents, questionnaire was administered to 639 middle and high school students in Daegu. The results were as follows. 1. The consumer awareness of adolescents was analyzed to 4 factors. consciousness of right. consumer information, brand-orientedness and responsibility. Respondents were clustered into three groups : utility-oriented group, brand-oriented group, and consumerism-oriented group. 2. Respondents bought their clothes at specialty stores primarily. They used ´products´, ´family's or friends advices´, and ´purchase experiences´ as information sources. The important criteria for selecting clothes were ´design´, ´price´, and ´suitability´ for oneself. Dissatisfactions after purchasing clothes were with ´price´, ´service´, ´sewing´, and ´size´. The complaining behaviors which respondents did mainly were ´telling friends about dissatisfaction with their purchased clothes´, ´asking for change dissatisfying products or asking for refund´ and ´asking for mending´. 3. Information sources were categorized into 3 factors: ´neutral information source´, ´personal information source´ and ´commercial information source´. Criteria for selecting clothes were factor-analyzed into ´harmony´, ´fashion´ and ´management of clothes´. ´The factors of dissatisfactions with purchased clothes were ´appearance´, ´quality´ and ´service´. 4. The differences by the consumer awareness in clothing purchase behaviors among consumer groups : In information sources. criteria for selecting clothes, complaining behaviors. purchasing places. three consumer groups were different significantly.

A Study on Cultural Characteristic Differences and Brand Attitude of Chinese Consumers (중국소비자의 문화적 특성 차이와 브랜드 태도에 관한 연구)

  • This study explores and examines the impacts of the cultural characters on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. This study used the 1,500 sample sized data collected from three major cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. We investigate that power distance, individualism/collectivism, uncertainty avoidance and long-orientation are statistically different across cities. The empirical studies show that individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance have significant impacts on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. We tested that the relationship between the brand power and the brand attitude is moderated by individualism/collectivism, the results indicate that the effect of the brand power on the brand attitude is moderated by uncertainty avoidance. These results imply that Chinese consumers' culture character of individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance moderate their brand attitude. Based on this results, We suggested some implications for further market segmentation strategy, brand marketing strategy, and Chinese regional consumer culture research.

The Relationships Among Self-Control, Value Consumption, and Subjective Happiness of High School Students (고등학생의 자기통제력 및 가치소비와 주관적 행복감의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-control, value consumption, and subjective happiness of high school students. In this study, self-control is the students' ability to control their thoughts and emotions and value consumption is the psychological mechanism of their consumer behavior. To conduct this study, 400 high school students were surveyed. Independent sample t-tests showed statistical significance in the results that are discussed below. First, subjective happiness among the participants varied according to their self-control levels. We observed that the higher their level of self-control was, the higher their subjective happiness was also likely to be. Second, there was a significant difference in subjective happiness based on the value consumption level of high school students. We observed that the higher their value consumption level was, the higher their subjective happiness also was.

  • Recently, middle and low social class entered in the upper class for the specific reasons and joined reference group in order to present demonstration effect. This phenomenon was assumed the consumer's desire for housing estate not from the leisure class. The superiority which feels belong to reference group, that was able to purchase high price product and the competence which can afford a high price goods are effective in housing estate. The study had been researched for Veblen effect according to residence estate. The partial least squares path modeling was used for Veblen effect affected by various psychological attributes, housing patterns and demographics for analysis. As a result, the conspicuous consumption from tenants was higher than residents, the social face sensitivity affected positively for self esteem and housing pattern, therefore, it caused conspicuous consumption. Moreover, we found conspicuous consumption had been increased followed by more spacious housing and higher income.
