A Subjective Study on Sport Ideologies (스포츠사상에 대한 주관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore physical education majors' subjective perception on sports ideologies using Q-methodology. This study found four types of subjective perception on sports thoughts. Type I is named 'the type of fair victory and defeat.' The subjects of type I emphasize the items of victory and defeat, fair judgement, a drama without a scrip, etc. Type II is named 'the type of sport philosophy.' The subjects of type II emphasize the items of sport philosophy, theory of one of mind & body, great spirit, hwarangdo spirit, sport logic, self-improving, etc. Type III is named 'the type of communication & social activity.' The subjects of type III emphasize the place for communication, social activity, consideration, improvement of the quality of life, etc. Type III is named 'the type of communication & social activity.' The subjects of type IV emphasize welfare, security for the aged, leisure, entertainment(game), healthy, etc.

Pulmonary Aspergilloma Treated by one Stage Cavernostomy and Myoplasty (공동절개술과 근육충진술을 이용한 폐국균증의 수술)

  • A 49-year-old male patient was admitted with chief complaint of hemoptysis. Preoperative chest PA and CT scan revealed air-filled large cavitary lesion at the right upper lobe with typical meniscus sign. Serum anti-fungus antibody for Aspergillus was positive and he was diagnosed as aspergilloma. We planned RULobectomy but it was impossible due to severe pleural adhesion in apex and mediastinal pleura. Therefore, we performed a cavernostomy and serratus anterior muscle flap transposition in one stage. The patient recovered without complication and was followed up for 8 months without recurrence of hemoptysis.

Building of a Simulator for Analyzing Ship's Collision Accidents (선박 충돌사고 분석을 위한 시뮬레이터 구축)

  • Vessel collision accidents have been investigated by means of questioning the persons involved and plotting manually the stated situation. But the repetitive plotting by hand can cause the investigator or to make some errors, and it can be connected to a wrong judgement. In this paper, we proposed a simulator for reconstructing and analyzing vessel collision accidents at sea, where the given situation is plotted automatically on it. We verified the validity of the system by applying it to some collision accidents.

A Comparison of Verbal Interaction Patterns in Science Cooperative Learning Based on Grouping by Middle School Students' Collectivism (중학생의 집단주의 성향에 따른 과학 협동학습에서 언어적 상호작용 양상의 비교)

  • In this study, we analyzed verbal interactions among 32 students in 7th graders' science cooperative learning at the levels of turns, interaction units, and conflict behavior units, and compared their verbal interaction patterns between the heterogeneous and homogeneous groups by students' collectivism. The relationships of verbal interactions with the achievement test scores and the increase of the achievement test scores were also investigated. In the analyses of turns, the distributions of the subcategories of the statements related to the task were found to be similar in both groups, and the frequency of 'explain' was highest. The frequencies of interaction units were higher in the homogeneous groups than the heterogeneous groups, and the frequency of 'symmetric interaction' was highest. In the heterogeneous groups, the frequencies of turns and interaction units for the students of high collectivism were higher than those of low collectivism. The frequencies of conflict behavior units were generally low, but the rates were similar in both groups. In the case of the homogeneous groups, the frequencies of 'avoiding' and 'competing' for the students of low collectivism were high, and the frequency of 'cooperating' for the students of high collectivism was high. In addition, the qualitative differences between the two groups were found in the interaction units and conflict behavior units. The achievement test scores and the increase of the achievement test scores were positively related with the sum of the frequencies of the statements related to the task.

A Study on the Introduction of Obstruction of Justice Contents (사법방해죄 도입에 대한 고찰)

  • The beginning that the 'Obstruction of Justice' in the United States is commonly known to Korea is through the impeachment of former president W. J. Clinton in 1998. The 'Obstruction of Justice' in the federal law of the United States is comprehensively provided with a general and a particular rule laying emphasis on the obstruction of legal judiciary proceedings. But, according to the Korean Criminal Act and court decisions, there are no such system like the 'Obstruction of Justice' in the United States. In this result, in terms of the criminal-judicial system, some cases even telling a lies has more benefits than revealing the truth and it is discouraged to cooperate the achievement of judicial justice, which make difficulties in investigation and realizing real truth. For this reason, the Ministry of Justice in Korea makes efforts to introduce the 'Obstruction of Justice'. Nevertheless we should examine from all angles that the introduction of 'Obstruction of Justice' is indeed the alternative in our circumstances. Most of the discussions on the introduction of 'Obstruction of Justice' and also the revised bill of the Ministry of Justice are questions of 'False Statement of Suspect and Witness' for investigation of investigative agency, rather than for the introduction of a general rule on the 'Obstruction of Justice'. The introduction of 'False Statement of Suspect and Witness' for investigation of investigative agency needs to consider concern about human rights infringement and witness protection system should be reinforced in the first place. In other words, the introduction of 'False Statement of Suspect and Witness' for investigation process of investigative agency is undesirable now.

Nurses' Image perceived by College Nursing Students : Q-Methodological (간호대학생의 간호사 이미지에 대한 인식 : Q 방법론 적용)

  • This study was conducted to examine the nursing image types and characteristics of nurses perceived by nursing college students by applying the Q methodology and to manage effective nursing education and clinical education. The survey was conducted from May 15, 2017 to May 24, 2017, and the data collection for the Q population composition was based on in-depth interviews and literature review. First, nursing college students were searched for convenience and 158 statements were obtained based on open questionnaires and 64 statements extracted from in-depth interviews and after a literature review. To select the Q sample, Q population was categorized by taking several repeated readings. Five categories were developed from these processes: quality and role, social awareness, professionalism, uniqueness, and working conditions. The selected statements were reviewed and revised by experts and 35 Q samples were finally selected. Based on this, 46 students in one nursing college classified 35 Q statements, and analyzed data using PC QUANL program. The results of the study were as follows: 2) Type I-1: Job related anxiety, Type I-2: cold and professional, Type II-1: Complaint of treatment and Type II-2: Profession-Unacceptable. These results are expected to provide useful data for understanding the characteristics of nurses' images and provide data enabling development of image improvement strategies of nursing education and clinical education.

Study on Teachers' Perception on Child's Personality Education Using Concept Mapping (개념도를 통한 유아 인성교육에 대한 교사 인식 연구)

  • This study aims at figuring out perception of teachers on the education of a child's personality development using concept mapping and demonstrating its importance. To recognize concept mapping of teacher's perception on the education of a child's personality development, the procedure of the research are as follows. The specific research results are as follows: First, based on the categorization, using multidimensional scaling and hierarchical cluster analysis, the results were concept mapping with 2-dimensions and five clusters. Second, dimensions of perception of teachers on the education of a child's personality development in concept mapping, showed virtue in left and performance in right, respectively, in X-axis, while environmental factor was in the upper area and personal factor was in the lower area, in Y-axis. Third, teachers' perception on the importance on education of child's personality development was evaluated in 5 categories as follows: 'Emphasizing adult's role'(M=4.45) was perceived as the most important among categories related to the education of a child's personality development. These results can be used for developing teacher's training program or an institutional supporting plan to raise performance of the education of a child's personality development in the future.

Design and Application of the Problem Based Learning Model for Environment Teaching Unit (환경단원 수업을 위한 문제중심학습 설계 및 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to design the coaching strategies for the problem based learning and examine 'the problem situation' to analyze the process of learning as it applies to the students' perception on problem based learning. The steps of this model were as follows: 1) presentation of the problem situation 2) confrontation of the problem 3) know/ need to know 4) definition of the problem statement 5) collection and sharing of information 6)generation of possible solutions 7) assessment of the best fit of solutions 8) presentation of the solution. Problem-based learning steps and coaching strategies were designed and implemented to 2nd grade high school students for the environment teaching unit. The results demonstrated that group discussion in the know/need to know step was most helpful for students to review what they know and generate solutions. At first students tend to state problems widely but through repeated group discussions they gradually clarified the problems. In the students' personal reflection notes and perception questionnaire of problem-based learning, many students especially showed difficulties in defining the problem statement. In contrast they participated actively in the learning process and express their opinions enthusiastically. Therefore, this study suggests that developing problem situation based on real context is of great importance for implementing a problem based teaming model continuously.

Comparision of Verbs Used in the Learning Objectives in Physics Textbooks of Singapore, USA, & Korea (한국, 미국, 싱가포르 물리 교과서의 학습목표에 사용된 서술어 비교)

  • Textbooks corresponding to curriculum goals are necessary because they are specific products of curriculum and are the most important materials for teaching, learning, and evaluation. In particular, learning objectives written in textbooks should be clearly described because they play a role in promoting learning by showing learning goals to learners clearly. This study analyzed the characteristics of verbs used as predicate of learning objectives written in high school physics I and II textbooks of Korea and compared them with physics textbooks of Singapore and the United States. Results show that Korean textbooks have less kinds of verbs compared to those of Singapore and the United States, and the verbs with abstract and comprehensive meaning such as 'understand' and 'know' were mainly used. In American textbooks, it was noticeable that no verbs have been used by more than 10%. When classifying the learning objectives in the two Korean textbooks, cognitive domain accounted for 98 to 99%, and inquiry domain accounted for only 1% to 2%. With regard to physics textbooks of the United States, inquiry domain accounted for a large proportion of domains in learning objectives compared with physics textbooks of Korea and Singapore. Physics textbooks of Singapore were similar to those of Korea in that learning objectives were biased toward cognitive domain, but differed from those of Korea in that learning objectives were specifically described using action verbs.

An Analysis of Verbal Interaction among Science-Gifted Students in Inquiry Learning Based on Analogical Experimental Design Strategy Emphasizing Understanding and Checking Stages (이해와 검토 단계를 강조한 비유 실험 설계 전략을 활용한 탐구수업에서 나타나는 과학영재 사이의 언어적 상호작용 분석)

  • In this study, we developed an analogical experimental design strategy emphasizing understanding and checking stages and applied it to four groups consisting of 7th grade science-gifted students. We classified the patterns of experimental design processes and analyzed the verbal interactions among the science-gifted students at the levels of turn and interaction unit. The analyses of the results reveled that three groups were relevant to reinitiated motion and the other to backward-divergent motion. In the analyses of turn and interaction unit, the frequencies of the statements related to the task were high, especially 'making suggestion' and 'elaborated symmetrical interaction'. The analyses for each stage of strategy indicated that the frequencies of 'explain', 'question', and 'cumulative interaction' at understanding stage were high. At designing stage, the frequencies of 'making suggestion', 'cumulative interaction', and 'disputative interaction' were found to be high. At checking stage, 'making suggestion', 'receiving opinion', and 'disputative interaction' were high. In the comparison of the patterns, the qualitative differences among interaction unit were found at all the stages, whereas there were differences only between designing and checking stages in the turn cases. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.
