  • In this study, career counseling collegiate career maturity differences before and after program implementation through proven collegiate career counseling program development and future of the University Career guidance and on the basis of the direction is set. Verification results first college career counseling program has not been applied to the experimental group than in the control group were improved career attitude maturity level.

The Effects of Major Satisfaction, Career Decision Efficacy and Career Attitude Maturity of Engineering College Students to the Career Decision Level. (공학전공 대학생의 전공만족도, 진로결정 효능감 및 진로태도성숙이 진로결정수준에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of major satisfaction, career decision efficacy and career attitude maturity of engineering college students to the career decision level. A total of 432 engineering students(male=339, female=96) completed major satisfaction, career decision efficacy, career attitude maturity and career decision level tests. The analysis showed the following findings. First, there are significant correlations among major satisfaction, career decision efficacy, career attitude maturity, and the career decision level. Second, the major satisfaction explained 2% of engineering college students' the career decision level. The career decision efficacy explained 21% of engineering college students' the career decision level. And the career attitude maturity explained 53% of engineering college students' the career decision level. The results of the study suggested that when career guidance and counseling program for the engineering college students, it is important to consider the factors to improve career self-efficacy and career attitude maturity.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine factors influencing career attitude maturity in middle school students. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, Anova, correlation, and multiple regression using SPSS 18.0. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the degree of career attitude maturity in female students is higher than male students. Second, career perception makes a difference in the level of career attitude maturity. Third, career attitude maturity is related to gender, career perception, and career activity satisfaction in middle school students. These results imply that the school should have multiple approaches - providing abundant information and differential program - to improve career perception and career attitude maturity.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the effect Meister high school students' career maturity with respect to the impact on school maladjustment. Also, this study clarify the relationship. This study purpose is to permanently provide Meister as the basis for the vocational education sector career education needed to faithfully serve as a special purpose high schools. Tools used for the survey is maladaptive measurement tools developed by Leegyumi (2004) and Career maturity measurement tools developed at Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (2012). Using these tools, a reliability test was conducted. Meister students' career maturity was conducted correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to analyze the impact of school maladjustment. Independent variables are consisted of career maturity and independence, attitude toward the job, planning, self-understanding, rational decision-making, information retrieval, knowledge of the desired job, career exploration and ready for action. Meister high school student's career maturity according to the students' background variables are little girls was higher than boys, but it was not statistically significant. T-test was conducted to ascertain the career maturity and school maladjustment differences of adaptation groups and maladaptive group in meister school students in background variables. A career maturity and school maladjustment between adaptive and maladaptive population groups showed a statistically significant difference in background variables.

The Effect of Job Training Satisfaction on Career Attitude Maturity in Vocational College Youth: Mediating Effects of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy (직업전문학교 청소년의 직업훈련만족도가 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향: 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study is to examine whether the satisfaction of youths in job training is effective in career attitude maturity mediated with career decision-making self-efficacy, The subjects of this study were 386 students who were sampled from four vocational schools in Seoul and SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical process. The results of this study are as follows: First, job training satisfaction showed a positive correlation with career attitude maturity. Second, career decision-making self-efficacy showed a positive correlation with career attitude maturity. Third, in the relationship between job training satisfaction and career attitude maturity of youths, the mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy had a statistically significant positive effect and had a partial mediating effect, Therefore, it is suggested that the higher the satisfaction of vocational training in vocational schools, the higher the career decision-making self-efficacy and also the higher the career decision-making self-efficacy, the higher the career attitude maturity.

A Study on the Difference among College Students' Department Satisfaction and Career Maturity and the Influence on Career Stress (대학생의 학과만족도, 진로성숙도의 차이와 진로스트레스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is conducted to analyze the difference among college students' department satisfaction, career maturity, and career stress, and to examine the influence of department satisfaction and career maturity on career stress. A survey was done among 824 college students using the scales on department satisfaction, career maturity, and career stress and the following results were found. First of all, department satisfaction, career maturity, and career stress had statistically significant differences based on students year, age, academic records, entrance motive, peer relation, and health condition. Secondly, the subfactors of department satisfaction, namely, course satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, general satisfaction, and recognition satisfaction, showed statistically significant differences according to age, gender, academic records, entrance motive, peer relation, and health condition. Thirdly, the subfactors of career maturity, namely, determinacy, participation, independence, tendency, and compromise, had statistically significant differences according to year and age. Lastly, career maturity and department satisfaction considerably influenced career stress: when department satisfaction and career maturity were lower, career stress was higher. These results indicate that department satisfaction and career maturity correlate with career stress. Therefore, in order to decrease career stress, college students who maintain a low level of department satisfaction and career maturity should receive active guidance and education.

  • The current study examined the relationships between task-approach skills of optimism, bearability, intolerance of uncertainty, career identity, career maturity, career barriers, and career aspiration. Data was collected from two-hundred sixty nine college students who matriculated in colleges located in Seoul, Gyeoungi and Chungchung provinces in Korea. The correlation analysis and multiple linear regression were carried out to explore the relationship among the variables mentioned above. The results of this study were as follows: First, career identity was positively correlated with career maturity, aspiration and negatively with career barrier. optimism was negatively correlated with career barrier. in addition, intolerance of uncertanity was positively correlated with career maturity. and negatively with career barriers. Second, multiple linear regression revealed that career identity, optimism and lacking intolerance of uncertanity significantly influenced career maturity, career identity, optimism and intolerance of uncertanity significantly influnced career barriers. In addition, only optimism influnced career aspiration. These findings implied that career counselors need to assist clients developing optimism, flexibility, bearability and counselors should be aware of the effect of task-approach skills on career, barriers, and aspiration. Further discussions regarding results are included.

Effect of Career Experiential Learning and Parental Support on Career Maturity of High School Students (고등학생의 진로체험 유형과 부모지지가 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of career experiential learning and parental support on career maturity of high school students. The number of subjects for this study was 290 high school students. The results are as follows. First, the effects of attitude in career maturity were higher for students with communication, field trip and visiting, and field experience in career experiential learning. However, career planning did not have any correlation with field experience types of attitude in career maturity. The effect of competency in career maturity was positively correlated with student experience with theory, communication, and field trip and visiting in career experiential learning. Second, parental support showed a significant positive correlation with all factors of career maturity. Third, results identify career maturity impacts on career experiential learning. The types of communication as well as field trip and visiting significantly affected all components of career maturity. The type of theory was a factor affecting competency. In addition, the results reveal the impact of parental support on the career maturity. Emotional support had a significant influence on all factors for career maturity, except for career exploration. Informative support was found to have a significant influence on career planning, career independency and career exploration. Financial support had a significant influence on occupational attitude, career independency and career exploration.

  • Regardless of previous educational attempts in youth career education, there are not specific methods for reading to improve career maturity yet. This study aims to identify the reading method based on cognitive aspect which impacts career maturity and the mediation effect of self-efficacy in this process. This study tries to understand the roles of reading by applying the various reading methods suggested in the 2015 Revised National Curriculum. Data was collected through interviews and statistical analysis from a survey completed by middle school students. Findings showed that critical reading affected the decisiveness as well as the confidence of career maturity. Also, emotional reading and creative reading influenced the preparation of career maturity. Critical reading impacted all subvariables of self-efficacy - confidence, self-regulating efficacy, and task difficulty preference. Findings also showed that emotional reading affected self-regulating efficacy. Ultimately, the confidence of self-efficacy partly mediated critical reading and decisiveness. This study contributes to guiding reading instructions for practitioners and school curriculums to develop career maturity and self-efficacy.

A Study on the Relationship between Self-awareness and Class Attitude and Career Maturity of General High School Students: Verification of the Moderated Mediating Effect on Career Exploration Efficacy through Conversation with Parents (일반고 학생의 자아인식 및 수업태도와 진로성숙의 관계에 대한 연구: 부모와 대화에 의한 진로탐색효능감의 조절된 매개효과 검증)

  • In order to analyze the factors influencing career maturity of general high school students, this study verified the moderated mediating effect of career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents in the process of self-awareness and class attitude affecting career maturity. For the study of the second year of general high school, the results of verifying the moderated mediating effect using SPSS 22 and Model 7 of PROCESS macro from the results of the first year survey of the Korea Education and Employment Panel (KEEP) II are as follows. First, positive self-awareness and class attitude had a positive effect on career maturity. Second, career exploration efficacy mediates self-awareness, class attitude, and career maturity. Third, in the relationship between self-awareness and career maturity, there is no moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents. Fourth, in the relationship between class attitude and career maturity, a confrontation-moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by conversation frequency with parents appears. Based on these studies, implications and future tasks for career maturity of general high school students were proposed.
