The purposes of this study were to develop vocational cards for elementary school children as a useful means to be applicable to elementary career counseling, to carry out a career counseling program by using vocational cards, and ultimately to determine the effect of the program on the career maturity of elementary schoolers. After job selection criteria were prepared in light of the characteristics of different occupations, changing business world and school children, how many number of vocational cards would be suitable for elementary schoolers was decided, and leading occupations were selected according to Holland classification in consideration of promising job list for the future, analysis of schoolbook and dream job among school children. And then what should be described on vocational card was determined, and their size was selected. Students who participated in the career counseling program based on vocational cards were significantly different in career maturity from others who didn't. To improve the reliability of quantitative approach, the students were asked to describe how they felt, and they made a positive assessment of the program as they found it to be interesting and of use for their understanding of themselves and business world. In conclusion, the vocational card for elementary middle-year students developed in this study catered to the career development stage of elementary schoolers, and the career counseling program using the vocational cards had a positive effect on enhancing the career maturity of children.
This study examined the experiences and meanings of career transition becoming a counselor by examining the experiences of career transition process before two women became counselors through the narrative inquiry method. To do this, two counselors with career counseling qualifications and two or more career transition experiences were selected as research participants. The results are as follows. First, they had several career experiences without having the opportunity to think about their interests or aptitudes. Second, it was an experience that career transition adapts itself. Third, as they went through various occupations, they gradually went to the work and study they wanted. Fourth, They were satisfied with the profession of the counselor they had chosen, and they were inspecting themselves as a counselor. In this study, it is meaningful to accept the career transition as a part of life and to confirm the meaning of career transition experience as a counselor walking the path of counseling specialist.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 'career decision making', 'school career education activities and participation', and 'school career education satisfaction' after 568 high school students. Methods: The subjects were surveyed after the counseling training. Results: 49.3% of the respondents answered that they had "decided but considered" in the "career decision information items" of the questionnaire about the subjects after the school career counseling education. 28.0% of the parents' advice was the most helpful when choosing their career, and 52.2% of the career decision making at school. There were 13 items in 'participation in school career education activity', and the average value was 3.49. The highest score was 3.66 points for "college or major experience" and the lowest score of 3.27 points for career-linked career education. In 'satisfaction with School Career Education', 94.7% of creative experiential activities and 94% of career and vocational courses were enthusiasts, and entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship experience (10.6%) were low. The career decision - making self - efficacy was also high in the group with high satisfaction of career education. Conclusions: School career decisions for high school students were effective when they were devoted to parental advice, university experience, creative vocational and career, and vocational education. The career decision - making self - efficacy was high in the group with high satisfaction of career education. Therefore, career counseling education considered adequate if it is devoted to education professionals.

The purpose of study is to examine the effects of the reading discussion-oriented career exploration program for elementary school students on career development and achievement motivation. To achieve this purpose, three fifth grade classes were assigned to an experimental group, comparative group A and comparative group B. Reading discussion-oriented exploration program for the experimental group was conducted for five weeks in ten sessions, the same period of time for comparative group A was given for conducting a career education program and subject studying was conducted on comparative group B. The results of this study, the experimental group applied to the reading discussion-oriented career exploration programs showed a significant increase in their career development compared with the subject studying group. But they did not show a significant increase compared with the career education group. Second, experimental group applied to the reading discussion-oriented career exploration programs showed significant increase their achievement motivation compared with the subject studying group and career education group.
This study investigated the current status and needs of career counseling based on the student's perception of specialized vocational high school in Daejeon. The main purpose of this study is to provide the future direction and improvement strategies of career counseling in specialized vocational high school through the evaluation of current situation and student's needs. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, most of students decided their admission into a specialized vocational high school when they were three grades in middle school. It indicates that career counseling teacher plays important roles during that time. Thus, it is necessary to strengthen the ability of career counseling teachers and to develop the various programs to seek student's aptitude and talent from the period of middle school. Second, since most of career counseling takes place primarily with class teacher, professional counseling education for class teachers is required. This research analyzes the decision-making status of expected graduates depending on their Holland preference type, as well as the influence career worries have on vocational decision status. By discovering this mediating effect, career counselors can carry out counseling based on the variety of career worries college students have, further supporting self-actualization of the client. As the previous studies on group counseling programs and the effects of career counseling have not yet considered the difference between various types of career worries and carried out identical programs and counseling method, this study is significant in marking the emergence of differentiated counseling intervention and strategy for more effective career counseling. This research is based on a survey conducted on 606 expected graduates attending six 4-year universities in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong areas. The students surveyed are in the second semester of their senior (4th)years, during two weeks from november 4, 2013. First, the results showed that the level of career worries and the type of career worries differed between college students that have different types of Holland preference, and such difference was meaningful. Second, examination on the influences that career worries have on different vocational decisions depending on Holland preference types, found that the state of anxiety-free and anxiety toward career and dependence, as one of vocational decision types, together work as mediators. In conclusion, the significance of this research lies on that it reveals the mediating effects that career worries have on vocational decision status of college students.
The purpose of this study is to examine social influence of the counselors on the network for a career counseling on gifted students of science and general students. This study collected data from 151 gifted students of science and 212 general students. The collected data was analyzed by the social network analysis. The results are as follows: First, we found that mother had the highest centrality indicators and teacher had the lowest centrality indicators on the career counseling network in both groups. And the max-flow indicators from mothers to teachers were the lowest on the career counseling network, on other hand; general students had lower centrality indicators than gifted students of science. Second, father was the most obvious counselor to cover for mother, on the hand, teacher was the worst counselor to cover for mother on the career counseling network. The gifted students group of science had less difficulty to cover for mother than the general students group. While teacher had the highest limits to information exchange on the career counseling network in both groups, mother had the lowest limits. As the result, we can conclude that mother played a key role on the career counseling network in gifted students of science and general students, while teachers was excluded from the career counseling network of students. Therefore, it is necessary to connect systematically parents with teachers for leading effectively students to their career; also government needs to build a career counseling system for this.
In this study, the career barriers exploration counseling program was carried out to research the factor on the career barriers of women's college students. And then the effect of the career barriers exploration counseling program on career preparation behavior of the women's students was analyzed. The program that referred to the career counseling program proposed in domestic and career material suggested in Korean Women's Development Institute and Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training was adopted in this investigation. Moreover referred to the previous research and reference related to career counseling that had conducted the related factor on career barriers and career preparation behavior. First of all, the program was reconstructed by referring to the Gottfredson(1981)'s career development theory. In order to verify the effect of the program on career preparation behavior of women's college students, two times tests were carried out on 10 persons of the experimental group and the control group respectively, before and after the program was performed. And then the ANCOVA was done on the difference between the post-test results of the experimental group and the control group. Findings of this study might be summarized as follows: First, the post-test result in the experimental group on career barriers was significantly lower than in the control group. Second, on career preparation behavior the result in the experimental group was higher than in the control group. Therefore, the career barriers exploration counseling program had a significant influence on career barriers of women's college students and the program impacted on career preparation behavior of women's college students significantly.

The purpose of this study is to suggest problems and directions for improvement, focusing on the master's course at the Graduate School of Education, among the career guidance counselor training programs. First, in the case of career education counseling major education graduate school fostering system, ① 3 universities in Seoul, 2 in Gyeonggi-do, 1 in Incheon, 1 in Gangwon, 1 in Daegu, 1 in Jeonbuk, 3 in Chungnam, and 1 in Chungbuk, a total of 13 Opened in 20 universities. ② Most schools operate in a dual system. ③ As a major in career counseling, there is a maximum of 26 courses and a minimum of 10 courses for the master's course in the graduate school of education. Second, what are the problems and improvement directions of the career counseling graduate school training system? ① It is necessary to prepare a standardized curriculum. ② It is necessary to operate education to strengthen connection with the local community. ③ There is a need to resolve the level gap between the 13 graduate schools of education and the lack of faculty members at some universities. ④ Career education policy department of the Ministry of Education needs to periodically evaluate 13 education graduate schools. ⑤ The role of the career policy department of the Ministry of Education is to establish a mid- too long-term plan at the national level considering the demand and supply of career guidance counselors nationwide. ⑥ It is desirable to dualize the way to obtain a career guidance counselor license as it is now.
Recently problems and issues of career-interrupted women were emerging as major social agenda in modern general and female society. This study modified and restructured REBT career group counseling and intended to testify the effects of REBT career group counseling program on self-efficacy and career attitude maturity of career discontinued married women in thirties. The subjects were career-interrupted married women in thirties living in J city, who have elementary school students as their children and applied to our study with 3 groups. 45 subjects were randomly assigned to experimental group(REBT Group), control group1(education group for vocational counselor) and control group2(general parental education group) by the number of 15. To assess effects of 3 groups, pre-test and post-test were carried out. Results showed that the participants of REBT group showed more self-efficacy, social efficacy and total self-efficacy scores than them of 2 control groups. And they had tendency to have more sense of reality, preparedness and total career attitude maturity scores. It seems that REBT career counseling program changed their irrational beliefs into rational beliefs about course and career, increasing their self-efficacy and career attitude maturity. The meaning, limitation and future tasks were discussed.
